  1. Hi Dyzney, what a horibble discovery, I only hope it was not one our Obedience competitors.
  2. Hi my Annie just about jumped into the speaker box when she heard the i squeak on the video she had this puzzled look on her face it was priceless.
  3. Sorry pushed the wrong key.I was going to say, for an older dog, she is working beautifully, those little poodles are pocket rockets. Good luck with your trialling.
  4. Hi Zug Zug, if you are having trouble with the sit stay out of sight don't do the down, she knows that. I have been told by an extremely experienced handler that until your dog does the 3min sit don't do the down. This handler has won Top Dog in Vic on 2 occasions, so I take her advice very seriously, also try and encourage your dog to work a little closer to you, I
  5. Whoops sorry about the lack of a space but I was thinking about the breeders who are supposed to be bound by the Dogs Vic code re selling their puppies: ie to pet shops etc.It just that those two breeds (Chow Chow and Shar Pei) are fairly uncommon, so would it be unfair to suppose some that breeders are off loading their excess puppies to the puppy farmers.
  6. Hi Chocolate, glad to hear that your dogs are ok, just be sure to check the exclusions, not all pet insurance covers snake bite
  7. Didn't see the the article had to leave for work, however I was shopping for a glitzy collar at a dog specialty shop, in walks a girl and her mum, they were looking for a collar for their puppy, long story short, I asked what type of puppy, and they said Sharpie/Rottie cross, I was so dumbfounded, my reply was I hope that was not on purpose, they looked quite upset, so it it not only the oodles being crossed but anything with four legs, I've also heard of Golden/Samoyed and Chow/Cocker and Chow/Flatcoat.What I don't understand is that some of these crosses are with relatively rare breeds espcially the Chow and the Sharpie, what happened to Dogs Vic code of Conduct and Ethics.
  8. Hi I don't show, but in Obedience you recieve a nice ribbon, a trophy which is great or something useful eg:mugs dog food chairs. However the best prizes I have ever recieved were a Pass card from the Melb Royal( my first I had framed) ;) and a puppy play pen and a snooza dog bed for being Highest Score In Trial at the Weim Trial in 2007.
  9. Hi Iv'e had a Rosy and a Millie (RIP) it is her birhtday today. But now I have a Bess, Zizz and Annie.
  10. Hi you should try owning Large Munsterlanders, I get everything from long haired dallys to Dally Afhgan cross and of course it is a Springer or Brittany and I say no its a Large Munsterlander a utility gun dog and very rare, however, everybody thinks they are very eye catching with their beautiful markings so I feel very proud and it gives me a chance to tell them about the breed.
  11. Dyzney, is that umbrella shown the same size as a Breed or the old Red and Yellow vinal Pal one?.If so so I think you are on a winner because they would be large enough to take UD gear and if needed the umbrella. When is your next obedience trial? Could you please have your bag with you as I'm very interested, I'm going against the the trend and am buying an Umbrella.
  12. Hi I don't show, but I would take the advice of Bisart Dobes, she is one stylish competitor.
  13. Hi go to the Golden Retriever Club Vic site and watch our demo it was great fun to do and very well recieved at the Melb ROYAL in 2009
  14. Hi I have Large Munsterlanders, this is a breed that equally at home lying at your feet under the computer table as one of mine is doing right now or pointing flushing or retrieving any sort of game, they also do very well in the show ring when shown, and are absolutely fantastic when competing in dog sports Tracking Agility, and of course Obedience Trialling which they excel in (not that I'm biased or anything) so I would say that the LMs can still do what they were orginally bred for AND THAT IS HUNTING plus every thing that I've mentioned
  15. Hi gazebo's are fine if you have room to transport them and if you have a band of helpers to put one up, the good ole umby is totally transportable and you can put them up by your self and hammer your trusty stake into the ground, all done in a few minutes pull down is equally easy.
  16. Hi Dyzney, Shelta Umbrellas make a zipped umbrella bag the only thing it doesn't have is a carry strap but they are worth a look and they will hold a stake but you would have to work out how to close the off the bottom. They are made of very sturdy vinly the stake might have to have a tip on it as it could go through the vinly after a time hope this helps.
  17. Hi with my breed I get all sorts but the one that really tickled me was Dally/Afghan
  18. I practice walking to work, signals rat lat halts left turns and right turns I've had strange looks

  20. Hi everyone, I would just like to wish everyone who has entered the State/ National Trials at the weekend all the very best of luck in what ever class they have entered. I won't be there as I will have a new baby, so I won't be there in person, but I will be in spirit.
  21. :cryI lost my girl to lung cancer early in the year, you will know when it is time, my girl wouldn't eat or drink in the last few days, that was before the cancer was confirmed, I had just 24 hours before she made her final journey I could not keep her going it would have been so very selfish to have put her through anymore pain. Her final waking hours were pain free due the great jungle juice my vet gave her to have her exrays and ultrasound, I used this so that she may enjoy what time was left. She did everything that she loved most, sniffing at the park and swimming at the beach, it was a beautiful summers day. All I can say is be brave and do what you have to do when the time comes.
  22. Hi as a member of Mornington I can highly recommend it, it has a great puppy class and if you wont to trial there is always someone to help you, they also encourage positive methods of training it is also a very friendly club , being a refugee from one of the other bigger clubs found them very wellcomming.
  23. Hi Belinda, not all kibble is the same, I use Advance for active dog it is 20 percent fat and 30 percent protein I also use left over rice and pasta and I also cook my own pasta and rice and vegetables to add to their meals and if you can get your hands on some tripe it also is a great weight putter on. Hope this is useful.
