Before we all jump in sometimes the confusion starts with a misunderstanding the breeder may mean not main register papers not no papers at all. Its common for breeders to charge much more for breeding dogs . I also understood it to mean NO papers.. " $2800 with papers or is willing to sell the pup for $1600 without papers but with a copy of both parents papers."

me too, but Miss Molly has my heart , really ... Pudden is just that .. a lot like a lab. puppy - and very vocal ..and a wuss .. and about as coordinated as me :p he makes me laugh. We will need to work on his sound locators tho if he cannot directly see me ..and I call/whistle - up go the ears ..tail starts wagging ..and he runs full tilt in the exact opposite direction!! I am presuming this has something to do with abnormal inner ear formation due to the fact he copped the double merle problems ....

Some have homes to go to .. we are just leaving them grow a bit more - let vacc's kick in ...& let the Boss make his final decision as to what he wants as replacement workers. At present we have two in semi retirement ..aged in double figures ..don't do much work at all anymore ..so we need young blood .to step up Smoke has been to work several times - he does not like running around in the prickles..but has been useful as a 'backing' dog :) has NO idea really what he's doing ..but is quite happy with a moving ,woolly magic carpet ;) I think it's safe to say Jeff will be staying here- he is solid , adventurous and smart . Oh - and they aren't free range all the time !! they have a pen in which they live when I'm not watching/at night . The pen is full of cartons and toys and mess :) they do do lots of stuff ... they can jump onto the low trailer - love that ..and Puddenhead even tries to jump into the 4WD when I tell him "car" ..but can't quite make it .They play with the adult dogs a lot ....jump in&out of shrubs/piles of junk ....

Mellymoo - we are usually careful when discussing actual people/businesses - as mentioned, because of lawsuits ! The forum is owned by an individual ..and it is HE who cops any flak from slander/defamation . because he is a nice guy , and our hero, we try & avoid him being sued!!

That is true... but there is a huge difference between travelling with a dog you know and a new puppy. A new pup just removed from its litter is likely to make a bit of noise the first few nights and need to be taken out regularly. Also depends on what the breeder has done with it too - has the puppy been in a crate on its own? Has puppy travelled in a car? (not just 2 or 3 trips to the local vet). I'm not against travelling with dogs, do it all the time. But wouldn't chance a three day drive with a new pup. a new puppy could also run a risk of picking up disease ..vomit/poo everywhere ...

Sheridan .. I would be using a chain collar .... nothing to pull AGAINST, when used as it should be , as it hangs nice & loose :)

Everyone is different . I have taken and held quite a few friends' dogs - they were way too upset to do it . I have on occasion left animals of my own - could not be there for the final minutes .

Another for a flight the following week!! that drive will be a stressful and risky time for all ....a tiny baby boston ..... awwwww..... use the drive to call in & meet her and the breeder .... then get ready :) and enjoy the rest of the trip!!

Rayhay ..perhaps a nice cat enclosure would be an option to ensure Cookie is safe immediately ? there are some like THIS ? While she recovers ...

poor Cookie . I hope the vet has written what injuries were caused by ..and you have put in a complaint to council. if Cookie was mine ..outside would be only accessed with an adult present ..and inside would be set up as a cat haven - with mandatory spoiling ... NO chance of dog attacks anymore .

I guess they are a bit paranoid then ;) So many gov't agencies /long standing institutions use purebreed dogs as service/working dogs . S'pose that does make them evil ;)
