Lots of cool water ... keep him lean & fit ... and provide a wetted patch of shaded soil where he can dig a 'day bed'

"fat sensitive" is this a pancreas issue ? perhaps find a vet who will explain exactly what is happening ..and the percentages of fat etc allowed? You may also want to check out feeding lean raw food ... may I suggest you try this ? LINK -

Ahh thought that might be the case ... A workin' girl :) At this stage, yes . I feed them - medicate them ... apart from that - have very little contact . The Boss & I like VERY different sorts of dogs ... his are too full-on for me , usually ..& the ones I have he doesn't like because they are soft and a bit naughty .... -

i don't have very much to do with her apart from feeding - she is 'the Boss's' charge now .. she has been working goats :) -
ah :) good - yes it is MUCH nicer all round .

perhaps change his food over to a very low residue food - ie: one with lots of easily digested meat /very little grain . That way , poo is smaller and drier ..and may make things easier . Also - make sure he has lots of opportunities to be taken out ..this is up to you now .. treat him as a puppy again. my old boy went this way in his final stretch of life ... management did make it a bit easier for us all ....

A horrible time for you- let your experience guide you.

..gosh - itches have so many causes ..... as said - allergies to anything from pollen to food colourings... itching can also be a symptom of the presence of mites ... It can be caused by a reaction to flea bites , shampoo, or by a condition which makes skin extra dry, or maybe too oily ... Find a good vet /dermatologist - and get it properly looked at :)

DDD- I don't have any other experience, as I would never consider it - unless it was for a few days post surgery...

Only ever tube fed pups - in a previous life . That was just inserting and removing a tube each time ...

is it soil or potting mix? what fertiliser is used? I would suggest you put pots up high , or apply liberal amounts of pepper /curry powder ;)

DDD- such a sad time - you've been there, done that - now it's your special boy .Hoping for a positive report from the specialist for you - while I will gently remind you about that which you know ..but which is hard to apply . Remember , with life, it's quality over quantity ...for everyone . -

I hope when you get the behaviourist home visit you will be able to understand what's happening :) You and your husband may have really scared her by being stern/angry when she toileted indoors or something - and it may take a long while for her to feel comfortable. Just a thought....

Just as long as you are sure this breeder has good dogs - has done all/any relevant health checks of the parents ! Also, I guess you've researched the breeder's prefix name/other dogs which may have been shown/used for breeding etc . regular contact is a good thing !!. Will the breeder support you after you get the pup - be available to chat /email if you have questions ? :) I hope you have also discussed what happens if the pup arrives ill - or has some hereditary problem ?

:) Dazed& confused is right! Glad the big brothers were there :)

Yes - I love his sandy schnozz - but it is looking a bit piggy ;)

I think there can be a hereditary factor, yes.
