  1. I love the idea of lower prices.... a good idea! Not sure how the concept will work though ...with no surgery performed - it will be really easy for folks to not bother about desexing ...
  2. the bee one is cropped - but still .... for just close- closeups - it saves changing lenses :) I go out looking for birds and flowers/insects - so this way I'm reasonably happy !
  3. ..I will often use old sox here ... ball a couple up - stuff into the toe of another ..and knot the open end ;) I guess with faux fur/fleece - you could tie a knot in it ...
  4. reject shop/cheap as chips have flat animals ... I love kirislin's idea! :)
  5. This sounds good advice . Both on lead ..and a good long walk . That lets them smell/hear and watch each other ..but they need to be walking - so no chance for being silly :)
  6. not really - they are terriers ,and lively . I guess how 'elderly ' and how much training/walking/ 'doing stuff' would be done .... ? I beg to differ. Jezebel belonged to an elderly lady, my friend's grandmother. She had her from a pup. She showed her initially, then ill health appeared. We got Jez when she was 9, she's now 13. It was only because Gran went into a nursing home that she came to us. She can run and run and will do if let off lead in the paddock. Usually she is by my side. I ALWAYS know where she is She is happy to sit around and do nothing all day. She was a little unsure of Mr R when she first came, but quickly warmed to him. She wasn't used to having men around. They are adaptable little dogs, smart and easy to teach. Jez is not my first Foxie. We recently lost Columbus (aged 21) and have had quite a few as fosters. I think they are wonderful little dogs. thanks, Rozzie :) I must have only had dealings with the dynamos ;) jezebel has a sweet face - and certainly doesn't look her age! They are great dogs , indeed. I think my "Shy" was 17 when she died.
  7. C&R - I read that as the dogs were fed differently after they vomited?ie: had chicken/rice .....
  8. ..also - there is probably no advantage to using a fabric softener on his bedding - maybe try without ? after all - it is a chemical which remains on/in the fabric with which he's in contact ....
  9. OK....as long as that is well understood - and no one pushes the boundaries :)
  10. the wariness of men could be a problem ..esp as your friend lives alone ... think hard about what may escalate if the only men she sees are workers/folks with noisy kids , etc ... I am also wondering why she is being rehomed .Did they not say anything in the ad/enquiry?

    Humping

yes & no .. a bit of excitement humping happens ... change the bedding so it's flatter ..only put teh cuddly stuff on at night . occupy her well with treat balls and interactive toys ..and keep her mind busy with several very short training sessions each day - see if that helps
  12. Yes- be careful . if the dog is in anyway fearful /shy ... fat .... noisy . Check if dog is wary of men is it OK physically - no kneecaps slips etc which is why perhaps it doesn't exercise ... teeth good .. vaccs/HW etc done /desexing done Check allergies is it OK with other dogs/people/noises when walking ?
  13. well, if the owner said that- and the dog is mature - all may be fine . Then again , hopefully dog is not a 'keg on legs'
  14. This is a LONG time ago ..but my mini was a rabbiter..would run miles ..and was hardly ever still - she was my perfect companion, being a bush kid- always on the move :) When I had to go to boarding school - she apparently sat by my pushbike in the shed and didn't eat for days ...
  15. not really - they are terriers ,and lively . I guess how 'elderly ' and how much training/walking/ 'doing stuff' would be done .... ?
  16. they are not a 'registered breed' as such but I'm sure of you google there will be clubs/breeders :) I had one when I was a kid - she was tough and very loyal :)
  17. Dave o it's written as the title of the thread ;) Nikon D3200 + tamron telemacro 70 - 300, and def. manual focus!
  18. those boots look way too hot to wear all day There are videos on youtube of military dogs wearing similar ones in deserts in the Middle East. I'm guessing the material is nice and breathable thanks :)
