  1. you don't need to pour it .. I use a sponge - warm the liquid..and part hair on a longer haired dog ..then rub on/in with the sponge .
  2. give him a chewy biscuit or bone - or a toy that he LOVES ? Don't talk to him at all - apart from using your toilet word ..and praise when he does .....
  3. why not try calendula tea ? it's great for all sorts of things :) read about it HERE!!
  4. the all weather muttluks look promising , thankyou. At least they have leather! LOL they don't have fleece, or padding or fiddly fasteners - all a big plus! A review I read said they were the "Mercedes Benz" of dog boots. :D
  5. the all weather muttluks look promising , thankyou. At least they have leather!
  6. red Fox yes :) Thanks. that;s what we will probably have to go back to - the old style . I was hoping for something similar but fully enclosed ....
  7. Ok - a vet that isn't comncerned with 'a little vomit' when dogs are being investigated for illnesses would worry me. Some detective work : In the backyard ..are any structures made of the green treated pine? What sort of water containers do they drink from? Do they drink from a pond or anything? What detergents/carpet cleaners do you use? How often (if any) do you flea bomb thehouse? What insect control do you use around the house/yard? I can't remember if the dogs have any bought treats/toys - what do they chew on ? Do dogs spend time in a shed or workshop or similar? Do they share your shower/bath?
  8. ha!- thought I'd found some nice leather ones ............... except they were used during WW2 !!
  9. Thanks - just about all of them look way too hot for our conditions ... * still lookin' * :)
  10. help - there are masses of prickly things around, and the dogs are all sore footed. there are also lots of tiny burrs which adhere to socks/lycra, etc ...and are incredibly painful on legs/skin. this is one called 'cannonball' - gets to be 1cm diameter -- and very hard. It lodges between toes/pads ..and makes life very painful This is "copperburr" boots are for koolie type dogs ....running over sand/rocks/paddocks of prickles ..up to 10 km a day . thankyou
  11. yes- if a noise or sound scared puppy badly - there could be lasting effects ...IF pup was well used to being pushed around - by days & days doing it at home .... then it could be worth a try :)
  12. thanks folks - I am enjoying playing with this new lens :)
  13. Bigger Trouble ... she certainly lives up to her name - ;) I LOVE this time of the day .. when there is peace ... she went outside , we had a little wander 'round ..mainly for toilet purposes ..a few minutes play .. her weetbix & milk breakfast - then it was a dive back into her crate with a fresh HW bottle . She will emerge again in about an hour. Last night , on her perambulations , she found a very well chewed old bone - so she snuck it in , then spent a few minutes trying to work out how to jump on the couch , with bone .... she eventually managed ! ;)
  14. looks interesting - good work! but remember - a nice warm heated bed for babies if often too warm ,(and can be distressing/uncomfortable) for a bitch. Unless the weather is freezing ..I prefer a lidded "nest" with well insulated floor, so the bitch's body warmth stays in ..and puppies spend their energy climbing to /staying with their mum , and feeding .
  15. That's good :) she will soon be MUCH happier .
  16. ..*thinks of the backstrap/filet in the freezer* - long way away though Central market has a game meat butcher ... that's all I know ..
  17. A biopsy for allergies ? Ok . Good luck with the bentleigh vet - keep us posted , :)
  18. well said. it is exhausting and stressful for everybody . I had a dog with fear aggression issues .... I hope Tippi gets an honest assessment and some solid guidance .
  19. hi - what does your mentor/breeder/vet suggest? They would be the ones who know your dogs best . I, for one have no idea what to suggest , as I do not know what caused the diarrhoea in these pups - or what problems the small one may have causing it to not thrive...sorry . Hope it all gets sorted - must be a worry with tiny babies .
