Poor Sam. And right at the start of the school holidays too! We will try to come over for a visit soon if she's up to it. Might cheer her up a bit... Taken the morning off work tomorrow as I'm taking 3 of the pups to Melbourne as they fly out to their new homes tomorrow. Another one os being collected in the afternoon and the rest leave over the weekend, so am pretty tied to home for the next few days. I'm still getting over the flu but did manage a good sleep last night (first for a week!) but you can tell the OH I may be ok for a drink on the weekend!! See you soon.

I got it about 4 years ago and the doc reckons I'm still getting over it. I still get the odd day where I feel as bad as I did 4 years ago! Which fur-kid has it? Hope they get better soon....

Northern ODC train at Moonee Ponds - not *too* far from Mill Park Easter Suburbs train at Mitcham on a Sunday I think, But the best for your friend (Geographically!) I think would be Warringal ODC - they train out your friends way and I think training is on a Sunday. ETA - Sorry! Just re-read OP post and learned your friend just left Warringal.

No thank God! All the Haigs are accounted for. Actually he didn't get away with anything - the police and I disturbed him shortly after he got in (love silent alarms!). I caught him after he jumped four meters out of a top window and tried to make a run for it. I got no credit in The Standard though.... all police this & police that! Your not wrong about this cold/flu - I feel like CRAP! Didn't get a nap in today but will try and have an early night. Gotta take the kids to swimming tomorrow and I hate it in the pools when you feel like this... it's so hot & humid!

Sorry Pandii - was a very last minute decision. Probably best you didn't anyway - this flu has really got a hold of me! May even have a nap this arvo. Had less than an hour sleep last night and very little the night before. My work got burgled and I spent most of the night with the Police at work and down the station giving statements etc. Verrrrry tired now!

This is going to sound really dumb, and admittedly I should know better owning gundogs!..... Why is there such a hugely distinct difference in type between what we know as 'show' type labs and those which come from the guide-dog breeding kennels? My impression is that those from successful winning kennels seem very heavy, thick-set 'bulky' dogs that move accordingly. Others I've seen (usually from guide-dog kennels or 'pet trade breeders') appear much more refined, a little finer in bone, less heavy and less 'robust'. They often (to me anyway!) seem to move more soundly too (Flame Suit!!!). Why the distinct types? How did this happen and was it for a purpose? OR have I just got it all wrong?

Hi All! Just a query.... Some time ago on this thread I recall talk of a possible PAT (Pets as Therapy) programme being a possibility in the Warrnambool region. Does anyone know what's happening with this? Who is temperament testing for suitability? etc. We have always wanted to do this with Belle, and now she is retired as a brood bitch she will need to earn her keep some other way... Any information gratefully received. Mick. :D

Hey RJ - what shows have you got coming up? I've entered Tarni and Amy in Hamilton & Horsham in August (both on a Sunday). You heading up there? You got Boof in the Royal? The Vizslas are on the first day (19th sept) not sure about the RR though. If they are on the same day and you are entered we could go down together if you like. You are welcome to see the pups anytime, although I'm only going to be around on Sunday this week and the first of them are on a plane the next Thursday. Would lurve some nice pics of them...

Yeah we had a great time too. I think we all just enjoyed getting out of the house for the day - was our first day out since well before puppies arrived! The kids had had enough by the time we got home though but all kids were really good all day; yours and ours. Will definately have to get out again.... I think RJ has a Pajero(?) will have to get her out next time!

Would LOVE to go for a walk but working HEAPS this week. Sunday is my only day off!

Welcome back, RJ Glad 'Pink' decided it best to release you!!! Yes you are welcome to come over for puppy snuggles. They have all grown up and have now moved outside into the kennels thank God - our house was beginning to smell like a litter box!! I am NEVER having another winter litter. It's so hard having them inside for sooooo long. Congrats also for Boofs first effort in the show-ring and really glad that YOU had a go in there too.
