  1. As if they aren't beautiful enough this guy swims around with his own personal halo. Don't you love it when you take a picture and find something you weren't expecting.
  2. Another one here who has never used it and probably never will. I don't come in here as often as I used to but I still like to pop in from time time. When I first joined a few years ago I had a couple of threads deleted because other people reported them although not for anything I said I don't think, more because those words we aren't allowed to use anymore were being bandied around a lot by a select little group. I had a genuine beef but I think because I was new the little band of DOL police of the time thought I was a troll. It didn't bother me too much, I can't even remember who was on the attack, well I can remember a couple but I'll never tell. I try to stay out of those sort of discussions these days, but like others I do rather like reading them. Shame on me.
  3. This is one of my favourite flower shots. It's pretty ordinary, just a daisy in the rain, but when I looked at it full size I noticed that I had caught something a little bit special. An ordinary daisy and cropped to show the catch, a reflection of another flower in a water droplet.
  4. The last couple of times I went to our local dog park it was slowly disappearing under all the dog poop. There's a bin with a dispenser with plastic bags, and still the morons can't be bothered picking up after their dogs. I understand that it might be possible to miss the occasional dog poop, especially if they sneak off into the bushes to do it, but this is more than that. You couldn't walk more than about five steps without 'finding' one. I haven't been back.
  5. Very pretty bird. I guess he is pied, so no doubt would be sort after in a breeding programme. I wonder if he is actually an aviary escapee. Mind you I suppose pied birds do appear in the wild too, but I would think they would be rare. But then, you say there are others, so maybe not so rare after all.
  6. I think it's unrealistic to expect big dogs and little dogs to act in exactly the same way. I have had both over the years and the little ones are usually more fearful, and with good reason, they are dwarfed by the bigger ones. When we first brought Monty home the GSD next door threw itself at the fence trying to get at him time and time again, even though he wasn't in it's face or even acknowledging it's existence.
  7. I didn't get into this month's challenge but I popped in from time to time to have a look, too lazy to make individual comments, but I have to make one about 'bacon flu', it made me laugh out loud. Very clever.
  8. It was at Underwater World on the Sunshine Coast. It's a car turned into a fish tank. My OH is the face in the back window. The action was only in the front and he was sticking his nose up to the glass to see what was happening in the back. He has a habit of getting himself in all my pictures, usually by accident, and this was the same. I didn't notice him until I downloaded it. Usually I would just edit him out but this was just too funny. He looks like he is in the back seat under water trying to get out. Hence the title.
  9. This is me done for the March challenge unless I revisit some. M for Maria O for Over the Shoulder J for Jump And U for Underwater
  10. That's just the way it came off the camera. I took it at night and the flash did the rest.
  11. Kirislin … Love all the bouncy dogs. That share the sky one actually looks a bit threatening, the birds look so big against the ultralight. I realise they are probably closer but it’s still a bit Alfred Hitchcock. ‘shudder’ Darien … Aahh, that’s better, some nice friendly birds, and Yum. Gate Iridescent
  12. TerraNik .. Uumhh, hair or toothbrush bristles maybe, given the pyschedelic touch? Iltby .. Ha Ha, flying dogs, great catches both the ball and the camera. PPS .. All the dogs are great but Scooter just melts me, what a cutie. StaffordLove .. The cop car is priceless. Very weird that ghost one. I have had a couple of pics turn out like that, no idea why. Did you do it on purpose? Bindi-Boo .. The textures are interesting. I can see eyes and maybe a mouth in the hands one and the back of someone else in the sister one. It’s like looking into those pictures that used to be around with another picture sort of inside. Gila .. I am in looove with Little Leroy and his twin. Are they babies? j ... I love the tongue series, very clever, finishes with a bang. .......... Three more from me. Lace Pendulum Kewpie Doll
  13. lea .. Love silent, what kind of bird is that? Here's a couple more of mine. Evaporate Donald Trump hair
  14. I like clover's A too, great capture, but I also like the look on the other dog's face. It's like .. what WAS that. Iltby's quivering web shot is amazing, and the moon/ufo is pretty amazing too. Love the flowers, especially the varigated azalea. I used to have that one once, but managed to kill it. All the dogs and kittys are pretty special too. I like Leopuppys 'green'. Is that a bromeliad flower, very interesting. Here's my few for now. I have a few more but have to upload them yet, so more later. Weather Vane Yellow Self EXplanatory
  15. Love the 'catching some z's'. And speaking of z's But it's not Z it's S ..... for stripes. ;) Here's my Z. A completely different kind of zebra.
  16. Oh, Oh, I found three more in the Dreamworld folder. N 4 Nap T 4 Tooth W 4 What U Lookin At! I promise I'll stop now.
  17. I've come in late for this month's challenge. I have been loving all the pictures, and have looked at all of them but there's just too many to comment on now, so forgive me but I don't want to just pick out a couple, because they are all great. I'm putting up six to start with, seeing as I have come in late. We visited Dreamworld a couple of weeks ago and I have only just got around to uploading some of the pics. All them are straight off the camera no editing at all except for some cropping. A 4 Awesome. B 4 Breakout C 4 Cub F 4 Feathers H 4 Hearse R 4 Rust
  18. A bit of a story to this one. I have a couple of big bird aviaries, one for budgies and one for finches. I am getting out of finches but didn't want to sell them off so am letting them live their lives out where most of them were born, just not allowing them to breed anymore. These two little guys are two entirely different species. The one on the left is a male orange breast and the one on the right is a female ruddy or African fire finch. After they lost their respective mates they buddied up and every night they fly to this branch and snuggle up together to sleep. Very cute. I would have liked the pic to be sharper and maybe have caught them snuggled up, but this was the best I could do. I am losing light and they are getting sick of me pointing the camera at them. They are both very old now, well past the age finches are supposed to live to, so I don't like to upset them too much.
  19. Not part of the challenge, although I suppose it could be eyes. For those who were asking a few pages back about the 'traffic' on my night lights pic. Last night when I took the dogs out for a last toileting before bed they had an audience. The destination at the other end of the possum highway. Cheeky bugger.
  20. Laughing at the "where's the traffic" comments. Sorry peeples, the 'traffic' didn't feel like co-operating on that night. There was a gecko peeping out at me from underneath that window shade and I was actually trying for him but he ducked back in when I pointed the camera at him. You can see his face in the full size pic but he's blurry, just looks like a pink blob. Really loved the baby piccies. Child was always going to be a problem for me, my kids are grown men and I don't have any grandkids so this was the best I could do. It's two subjects combined, unless I think of another one for key. Child and Key.
  21. Night Light ... Actually it's more like a street light on the possum highway.
  22. It's more a wind chime than a mobile, but needs must. This is a real mobile, well not really, it's a minature clock but it can pass for a mobile. My real mobile is just too boring. By the way it isn't really in a box. The pic was too dark so I was fiddling with the brightness (and various other things) and I have no idea what I did but it looks kind of interesting.
  23. I'm doing music today. Please excuse the dust. It is a minature, only about 5cm or so high, and I thought I had wiped it down pretty well until I saw the blown up picture. :D I have just got new glasses too.
