  1. The world did stop! DOL died! Don't let Bunter do it again!
  2. TD's pup is a rescue foster that has failed - they are in love with each other. She's a blue fawn brindle Staffy cross with two different shades of blue eyes! There are some lovely photos of her in the Photos and Rescue forums. She's a beautifully behaved munchkin except for pulling at pants legs, and TD is determined that she will be a great ambassador for well-socialised bull breeds :)
  3. I think the discussion has been that the pounds/councils look good with lower pts figures.
  4. Actually now I've read that post in context. What she's saying is that all these rumours have been around for years but aren't necessarily true, so why do bad rumours keep being circulated about PR by rescue groups? It's all available on FB, you don't need to make MN a friend.
  5. MN could have been more creative, most of those rumours have whiskers on they're so old. She's wrong about the two groups I know so I expect she's wrong about the rest.
  6. Anyone noticed a particularly amazingly brilliant rescuer has disappeared? Anna Powerlegs fought them so hard, with logic and common sense and being practical. The PR army just rolls on, strong and stupid as possible
  7. Thanks Steve. I think Tapua's scales are broken. She says Sammy is 815g at day 5
  8. I know I've seen one of the photos on this website, but there are heaps of lovely photos and stories: https://open.abc.net.au/projects/working-dogs-07kq9eh#/discover Working Dogs 17 Sep 2012 – 16 Dec 2012 Share a great story about the antics of your working dog. The working dogs range from stock dogs to guide dogs to full-time companions. I particularly loved the story of Mud Guts, and the regret that dogs can only live 1/6 of our lives.
  9. The way the information is presented in the table on page 13 of this report is quite misleading. It puts the Tibetan as number one on the list of breeds involved in attacks, however, there are only 43 registered, and out of those there have been 2 attacks, so it takes the rate of attack per 100 dogs on the Register to 4.3! The SMH has since revised their stats ;) Phew! There are still some checkers and editors left at the Herald, even if the first edition was wrong!
  10. It doesn't matter what breed they are, it was a horrible attack by two badly trained dogs, with an irresponsible owner. I agree. I was only interested because of the inconsistency of breed description in the various media reports.
  11. My order has been held up because they've run out of periwinkle Go Dog Dragons and won't have any until the end of December They do however expect green dragons by mid next week, so they've given me some choices. They do seem very good at keeping in touch with the customers. I just wish I had a delivery to track!
  12. Bankstown Pound is Renbury, isn't it? Maybe someone there will have a better idea of breed ID.
  13. http://m.smh.com.au/nsw/teen-has-ear-bitten-off-by-pit-bulls-20121031-28ife.html Interesting. How can Tibetan Mastiffs and Chesapeake Bay Rerievers be so high on the list of bite statistics? Maybe it's by percentage of those registered ? Poor bloke. There's still no mention of his own dog in this article. Excellent description of East Hills, Tralee.
  14. Golden retriever rescue do: www.grr.org.au I don't think they have a calendar but LabraDOG rescue has lovely Xmas cards: www.labradogrescue.com.au
  15. Aww shucks I'm getting embarrassed now! Bub and Woof, you know I'm close by - and DD you know where I am - let's organise a Sydney DOL BBQ at my place once my little boy has had whatever shots he needs. We might be brave and invite Sam-man for a steak, and Tracey can bring Harper for cuddles too!
  16. TD has turned into a big sookie-girl over this pup and it's wonderful to watch Harper is a sweetie and I'm looking forward to seeing how those wacky ears turn out!
  17. Woman at work just said he looked like a liquorice bullet. Hmmm, that would go with the Candyman theme too!
  18. Thanks D! But has he ever met a pup he doesn't like?
  19. We won't have him in time for Christmas cards But I've got a lovely selection of LabraDOG Rescue and Golden Retriever Rescue cards I could send him! I thought big Troy only liked itty bitty dogs? He might be scared of my slug!
  20. Day 3. The collar was on for a very short time for ID. His sisters are feeding well too, but he is a boobie boy!
