  1. Yay!!!!!!! Thank you Councillor Nick and cronies! I wish I could see Tim V in action too.
  2. Will check with my aunt, a long- time Min Pin owner in Melbourne
  3. Foster 2 we failed after an hour, and foster ~12 is with us until the end due to some health and attitude issues making him unsuitable to rehome. We've put up the 'house full' sign for a while, but will go back to it when we have more space in our lives. I can see why a group would look carefully if someone has a FF, but it would have to be on a case by case basis I'd think.
  4. It's usually that one. They own a few domain names too, about labs and puppies. I've met a lab bought from there who went back for 'training'. It wouldn't be my choice AT ALL based on that poor pup. They are good at marketing/advertising though.
  5. I was lucky enough to spend some time in Scotland last year and only saw one Scottie! Lots and lots of Westies though.
  6. Hey T, can I mention the wrist-curl test for Dingos? I'm sure you know it  I really liked that Tuck/Taaaarrrrck was such a friendly confident smoocher. I don't care about his eye colour, just his waggly white-tipped long tail!
  7. Can't get the link to work on my phone but a councillor has told me we should contribute to the local newspaper's discussion on this, it's being looked at closely. Blacktown Sun (per OP) but I can't find a comments link.
  8. So do the Lib councillors support desexing and the Labor party doesn't? Strange, I thought it would be the other way around. Good luck with this. They'll have to move into the 20th century one day!
  9. Cattle x dingo x border collie x foxhound x bully x CUTE!
  10. Never a wiser word spoken Powerlegs... I like to actually KNOW the dog I'm putting up for adoption... we usually have ours for longer than 2 weeks to be sure on ALL counts before trying to place a dog into a new home. T. Amen to that statement. If only everyone was interested in getting to know the dogs they were rescuing before rehoming, we'd all be better off. Bleeding heart dreamers, the lot of you. Don't you know it's all about numbers and how you look on FB? :rolly eyes guy and a couple of winks: Seriously, it's scary, there is risk mitigation then there's just ignorance. I delivered a dog from Blacktown pound to a foster carer who was a bit late back home because she was out buying a lead to take the dog on the Bay run and go leash free in Rozelle straight after delivery to 'tire him out and meet new friends'. Last job for that group - that's hundreds of dogs potentially exposed!
  11. How very satisfying for you! Makes it really worthwhile, doesn't it!
  12. Everyone else has covered the main points but I still can't believe how double dogs = triple poo pickup? Is it just more running around together?
  13. I just saw that in the other thread. Congratulations Mon!
  14. I love watching bitey face, especially when my dogs teach fosters how to play by doing it in front of them until the foster is so sooky and submissive it's allowed to join in. Also watching my 38 kg LabX playing with the ancient 7kg SWF! Stevie eats his whole head, and the little one has to be on our bed to reach her face!
  15. Yeah, the timing today was a bit dodgy. They seemed keen on having the lunch break before 1pm so the police dogs could put on their show.
  16. I was bragging about knowing what the Fauves look like but I must admit some of the other breeds had me stumped - especially the Grande and Petit Vendeens. The soft-coated wheaten was interesting and I'd like to have met one. My Dogs NSW show bag split already and I didn't even put one of those gorgeous Tassie water bowls in it
  17. I patted a Fauve! The owner was very surprised I know what they are! Lab breeders are nice just like their dogs.
  18. If you look in the Show Ring thread/forum, Sway has posted all the Sydney Royal information. Looks like there are just two start times - morning and afternoon! Nothing more specific. I'm going out today hoping to see lots of Labs. ETA I just checked - Pekes are judged after 1pm, after Griffon B and Japanese Chin.
  19. I think the Lab Rescue based in the ACT will send to Victoria. They are worth contacting because they used to work off their waiting list before advertising/listing a pup.
  20. So I tried to do that step-over 'through' with Stevie and fell over  I forgot she's taller than my legs and would have to crawl through!
  21. Lovely! Riddick is a beautiful boy and smart too! I'm inspired to try a few more tricks with Stevie. But how come you aren't slipping in a puddle of drool?
  22. Thanks! I think I have to work half a day so that works out perfectly.
  23. I saw on the schedule that Labs are on next Wednesday, but what time should I get there to see them? Are there any DOLers (any breed) who might be relaxed enough to spare time to explain what's going on? I'll buy the fairy-floss!
