Gayle I feel your pain. We will be getting a 1.8 colourbond fence soon, which I think will need to be hotwired. I have talked to Greg Browne about escape artists. He has read somewhere that they acquire this knowledge around 4 to 6 weeks. Once obtained its there for ever.So prevention is the go. Pups try escaping at the point so if you have a roof on them they hit that then drop back. After a few goes they give up. Greg has an import Irish that can only be in a totally closed run. His kids who had a lidded do not escape. The thought is they escape because they can. Actually must ask Greg if he remembers the Website he read it on. ETA. Found this out because we were discussing escape artist Cavs. Cvas are very good at climbing. -

Sharna3 what about trying a Thunder Shirt on the Sibe. As you live in the Bush you could try a makeshift one first. A firm teeshirt or rashy. http://www.thundershirt.com/lpc2/ If you are good at Youtube GSD'S 4Ever has some good clips of her dogs. Called Spirit, Tara and Mish. -

Cav Club inside but I believe that room has been made for all to be inside. -
Good posting SwaY. BBJ opened the envelope before we left but did not see the breakdown. ;)
-
Unfortunately SwaY's list is acquired by a very hard working band of workers. Compiled from ols Show Catalogues and Gazzetts. So that may have been issued but not in any publication to date.

I'm willing to jump in (and make a really big call), and say Cavalier pups due on the 5th Feb.  1st Cab off the rank.

I did not need to ultrasound her as I felt lumps at 4 weeks. Zarah is booked for an x-ray next Wednesday.

I have had Misses Ruby, Montana and Cleo on a diet. It worked most on Cleo. But due to the over zealous weight loss I had a feel of her tummy at what would 1 to 1.5 weeks and she feels squiggy. So if she is preggers they did in secret or the AI worked. Time will tell. So she is off the diet much to her delight.

  But I do love your black babies.

How old is the dog Mille? We have only ever tested one of our boys prior to a mating and that was because he was an older dog that had never been used at stud. He'd been in four homes prior to coming to us so we wanted to make sure he still had swimmers The dog is 9 years old. They said they tested him in order to freeze sperm and he was ok for sperm count. I did ask about fertility because they originally wanted 3 matings over 3 days. I guess stud dog progeny record is not open to public view like online studbook AQHA horses? I have been out of dog breeding since 1970s (might be still out of it). Thanks for your comments. I tried to get information on stud dog's progeny through Dogs Vic but was advised that this information is no longer available due to the privacy laws now in force . How annoying and illogical. Somebody should take this up with them. The privacy laws should cover people very strictly. But dogs should not be covered by privacy laws at all. All information on their achievements, hits and misses should be something available on the register for all to see, as it is conducive to breeding to improve the breed. Hiding information about dogs available at stud is harmful to a breed. A dog is not going to be able to sue the registry for breach of privacy, and as long as there is no identifying details given about owner or address, there is no breach of anyone's privacy. How ridiculous that privacy laws should be abused in this way.  Privacy and litters are printed in the Gazette.

Ag Shows Vs Regular Dog Club Shows
Bilbo Baggins replied to stonecutter's topic in General Dog Discussion
I quite like Aggies. But forgot to buy my Show bag on Saturday   as I had not one this year yet. It was probably the last Aggie. Love the GP coming up to look at the dogs. -
I think Zarah might be absorbing the pups. She is not getting very fat. Nipples still big and pink but not much breast development. Threw up again this morning but then ate breakfast.

 Sorry becks.

LOL I was thinking the same thing becks. ;) ;) ;)

Slightly incorrect benshiva. The female body is designed to carry a pregnancy, give birth and feed the offspring. In humans the hair grows luxuriously and falls out when the baby is around 4 months old, with some women they can be almost bald. They also lose weight around 6 months of age. Given that dogs have a 9 week pregnancy and an 8 week feeding cycle, 5 weeks could equate to the hair loss age and weight loss of the pregnancy stored fat. Both recover quickly with sound nutrition.
