  1. This a great show for the White Swiss Shepherds dogs as well. Karli out of Quarantine by 3 weeks went runnerup in group and puppy in group at her 6th show. She is looking fantastic she is jointly handled by BBJ and Donna Sturrock. Donna achieved this great result.
  2. That is a really negative view. I desexed my girl for her health she had done her bit for the next generation. She never titled entire because I was not showing in her younger years. By the time she had finished her maternal duties she was to old to consider in the entire arena. Should I have just chucked her on the scrap heap. No she was going nowhere and as she enjoyed going out and strutting her stuff. I showed her. She has just claimed top Neuter Cavalier on DOL pointscore. Yes some travel has been involved but those shows have also gained extra entries for the entire dogs that came along and BBJ and I have enjoyed discovering new locations. Sadly my first neuter died 5 shows short of her title. She commenced her second show career as a 14 year old. Most judges could not believe her age when told. She still looked good until about 2 months before her death. Wil was the ultimate showwoman despite having limited exposure a a youngest. She was a favourite with newbie Junior handlers as she would teach them what to do. There is SUP CH. currently entering the neuter arena. I am sure the owner would prefer her to be still entire but pyo is a bitch. Livvy loves showing and I am sure the owner will get stick for showing her as a neuter.
  3. I can give you his Dads number and his Aunties.
  4. Great 2 days. Weather was not bad either. Top marks to the Club. ETA. If Kyneton does Neuter next year it will be a toss up which to go to.
  5. becks if id have an idea of their itinery it would help.
  6. Yep - I understand where you're coming from - for 1., I think it's covered under option "I have a neutered dog and would enter if the class was offered". For number 2, I just wanted to check that you mean.....in the instance where you have entire and neuter dog/s to show you would go further afield to support a show that offers the neuter classes than do a closer show that does not? If you were only showing neutered dog/s the closer show wouldn't be an option anyway and you'd need to go to the one further away. On this I'd be inclined to agree with you and do the same thing however, for the purposes of this poll to not drill down too much I won't include it but happy to keep the additional subjective feedback to demonstrate that of those who would enter neuter shows, many would travel further away and bypass a nearer show if the neuter classes weren't offered. Thanks - it adds some good context about the level of support for neuter classes. Current example. This weekend 2 Shows Kyneton 50 mins from home same side of town. 2 Shows Newborough roughly 2 hours other side of town. Going to this lot because they have neuter. ETA. Yes I have entire dogs as well.
  7. Ooops double post. <img src="http://www.dolforums.com.au/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif" alt=":D" class="bbc_emoticon">
  8. That is such a typical negative response. How many of the so called "entire" dogs being shown are actually fertile and capable of producing a decent offspring??
  9. Okay a question has been missed or maybe 2 questions. 1. I have a neutered and I show it. 2. I have a neutered dog and enter shows that have neutered class over ones that do not even though the one with no neuter class is closer to home.
  10. Myself and another cav person put it to the Show manager that she consider all to be outside. They did and Fabulous not feeling isolated and hot and steamy inside. It was cosy real estate but we survived.
  11. My dogs were actually cooler at the park than they were when they got home.
  12. Great looking forward to another in the hound ring.
  13. No one that was taken previously, but awesome horse handling skills - not and I thought sh..... and this person knows how to float a horse.
  14. But wasn't she taking in rescue horses? Surely some would come into care in poor condition and need time to put on condition etc Why would they seize them anyway ? Surely you cant blame her for trying to prevent them using a baton on the horses? Looks like someone has it in for her big time. Comment I was going to make Steve. The emaciated one could have just arrived. Rest look very healthy.
  15. Kilmore Kennel Club INC 16/12/2012 Neuter Entries. Group 1 9 entries. For the Cavs the Neuter Class had the biggest entry. !! Group 2 2 Entries Group 3 6 Entries Group 4 1 Entry and I believe they are only Neuter hound in Vic being Shown. Group 5 7 Entries Group 6 6 Entries Group 7 1 Entry Total 32. Fabulous entry and I did not attempt to add what other dogs came with theNeuters. But roughly 1 other dog per neuter gives you 64 entries. Therefore 64x12 = $768 tidy profit from that IMO.
  16. This is only true for dogs who are sold in petshops which isn't very many these days. Hopefully they maintain something, email, mobile.
  17. In Victoria the laws have changed and any dog advertised has to have its microchip number. This applies to puppy farmers as well who have to have the business number. BYB's who "give away" dogs will slip but the majority who care would benefit from this.
  18. No water in whelping box here. Mum free to come and go as she pleases thus she can toilet and drink as needed. A bowl would be spilt for sure.
  19. I saw the below article on a news flash and decided to email Lynne Bradshaw.. I am very passionate about have the original microchipper's details maintained on the database and suggested that she lobby for this occur. RSPCA turns into political animal Rhianna King, The West AustralianNovember 19, 2012, 5:01 am tweet Email Print The head of the RSPCA has pledged to make animal welfare an election issue, claiming she is shocked at the number of animals still being mistreated in Australia. The animal welfare group yesterday launched its Political Animal campaign during an open day at its Malaga headquarters. The campaign will focus on live exports, battery hens and backyard dog breeding. RSPCA president Lynne Bradshaw said dogs were suffering needlessly because of misguided backyard breeders. "Many breeding dogs live in horrendous conditions without adequate food, shelter, veterinary care and love," she said. "RSPCA has current court cases under way involving backyard breeders." She called for a breeder registration system so all dogs could be traced back to the breeder. "It amazes me that there's such a consistent number of animals being mistreated," Ms Bradshaw said. "You would think as we become more educated as a community that it wouldn't happen, but I'm sorry to say it does." The RSPCA is bracing for an influx of unwanted animals in the festive season.
