  1. I would refund the full price. I think you may be a harsh on your judgement of them. Obviously dillbrains for not checking properly with management and I would suggest rather devastated that they can not keep the pup.
  2. Hopefully becks will pop in here.
  3. Sorry W's I forgot to congratulate you. Gwen.
  4. I thoroughly recommend springy type guy ropes. Have not used them on a gazebo but after poodlefan's suggestion of putting guy ropes down the side am going to add them to the kit. One New Years Day Night, the night was dark and stormy the billy goat (oops not telling poetry  :D :D) I was at the beach with brand new tent, a friend and 3 young kids. The guys had put the tent up 2 days previously and had gone home to work the next day. During the night a storm blew up and the tent came unstuck  We where rescued by other guys still at the camping ground. Friend and I slept in the kitchen tent. Another friend used his van in front of the kids tent to protect them from the on shore wind. We where shifted to another site next day and on the advise of one of the night rescuers went into town and got the spring guy ropes and longer pegs. 3 days later another storm not as severe as the first occurred. The tent held firm, mind you did get a river running through it ;) Luckily sealed floor. Few years later survived another storm. They allow movement but keep it down.
  5. Well done. ETA. You missed the fantastic Daylesford and Ballarat. :D :D
  6. Group 2 was finished before Group 1 even started.  :D :D Our judge lives in Bendigo and had to turn back from 2 flooded roads. She luckily made it through the third.
  7. Just do it. We are going to work out of the car.
  8. We had to come via Kyneton as the road was flooded just past Lyonville.
  9. It rained heavier every time we had to go in the ring....we were the wet Puggers. Loved how one of the pugs refused to walk. Was it one of yours??
  10. LOL could not be any worse than Daylesford to day. Had to come home via Kyneton as the road was flooded after Lyonville.
  11. When he is desexed have the rear ones removed. I have seen a GSD with caught rear one and it was not a pretty sight.
  12. Congratulations lappiemum. At a reasonable hour.
  13. thank you. now i want to ask, if you purchase a dam from a breeder and have a breeding contract with the breeder ie her 1st litter..... and this dog fails to become pregnant time after time... would you be requesting from the breeder another dam or a refund?? im not saying i will do this but i want to look at my options as i did intentionaly want a girl i could mate and use as my base girl .... if that makes sense How many times has she not had a litter?? I would do some investigation and I recommend Margaret O'Riodan Natupathic Vet in Thornbury. I had a girl once who 3 times had no pups. Took her to Margaret on day 2 (well friends hubby did under duress we where at the beach with the kids) mated her next day 5 pups. I have 2 other girls who will mate on day 2 as well relos of hers.
  14. she'd be a lot less stressful than diva!!! the vet told me i was over reacting all he could feel was a belly full of babies and intestines LOL thank you everyone for replying and helping me out even if the problem was in my head!! ;) :D I was going to say are sure you are not just feeling puppies. :D :D But you never know. Better to be save than sorry.
  15. Quote: "I know in Qld they are not allowed to microchip before 8wks so breeders there would have not choice but to wait" That bit of legislation was changed in Queensland.
  16. Semi true Lindainfa. Since July 2010 a neutered dog on Main Register can be shown in classes 18/18A. Unfortunately Victoria has not taken this up yet but we are working on it. See http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=198942
  17. Teaching me how to fold a gazebo top properly. Forgot one - meeting DOLers!! :) I was just thinking about your gazebo when I replied in the gazebo thread. I did not realize you had crossed the guy ropes. Great idea also less for people to trip over. ;) And definitely meeting DOLers.
  18. Also depends on space. An Oztrail compact will fit in the boot of a car. Others need longer space.
  19. Accurate DNA requires the microchipp detail so I cannot see your problem. I had to do DNA profiling for proof of parentage and it was done the ribbon colour for name. Once the dad was established I registered them and then told GT the name and got new DNA papers. BB what you are referring to is DNA testing for parentage. This does require the chip number. However what Tentie Lover is reffering to is voluntary tests done by an overseas laboratory so that we can control and hopefully eliminate a health issue which has recently come to light. This is not a mandatory test it is only voluntary for breeders to make informed decisions about future potential breeding stock. As it is voluntary it is not required for the microchip to be in place. Should it need to become compulsory then no doubt the chip number will be required. We as breeders are working on trying to eliminate the problem before it becomes mandatory to test. However Tentie Lover we have just had a batch of ours done for the test I am sure you are referring. We did get a response via email from the lab within about 4 weeks. We are about to test a few other dogs one of which is only a few weeks old. I do know of some that have tested as young as four weeks, providing they are off the mother. However I will agree with your comments about it being difficult to place pups in homes once they start to get beyond the 8 to 10 week age. Yarracully you did not read what I had written correctly. So will change it. For certified DNA results it needs the microchip number, nothing to do with proof of parentage, I just used that as an example as the pups names were the ribbon colours. If they had not been microchipped the test could still have been done, but the result not certified. Thus not be able to be used in a court of law. Who was to say you had not swapped a dog. Someone posted here recently that they microchipp the pups a day or so after birth and use that to identify them. Obviously all the same colour. And they have scanner. In NSW there are a lot of mobile chippers so you can have it done early. In Victoria it has to be done by a vet so most people leave it until 6-7 weeks and do it with the vaccination. EF Typos
