  1. I was wrong. I had a look. I'm paying $20.40 per month for my male and $22.55 per month for my female. Comprehensive plan with $250 excess. Not $22 per month for both.
  2. You told them to keep their dog on a f**king leash ?? What did you expect their response back to you would be ?? a sincere, genuine apology.
  3. I think mine is only $22 a month for two dogs. You must have a better cover.
  4. I just don't use it. Really, the tub does nothing that washing the dogs standing on the grass can't do. I've been looking at buying a hydrobath for months now, just haven't yet. I was ready to buy from the Barf shop, but got annoyed with the B/S they told me over the phone.
  5. I use the FIDOs everyday wash on my rotts and haven't had any problems at all.
  6. The Fido's dog baths are something like $365 plus postage I will visit Spacepac and check out the suitability of the product and their prices, they may also have seconds Any other ideas? If you mean the FIDO dog tub, they're not $365. They are $275 New from the manufacturer. You can pick them up from time to time on ebay second hand for around $100 odd. I have one that i put on ebay, but it didn't sell.

  8. The vet i use for my male Rottweiler is cheap. His C5 was a qtr of what my parents paid for the same vacc for their 4kg min dachshund.
  9. My dogs are insured with Bow Wow Meow. They're useless, took 3 attempts just to get both dogs on a policy and they knocked back the first claim i put in. I should've argued, but couldn't be bothered. I only took it out for major illness really. I'm not going to argue over a small amount. From what i've heard from friends, PIA are great.
  10. My dog was sedated for the initial treatment of his ears, full health check, blood tests ect prior to the castration. He wasn't desexed under just a sedation.
  11. If you're in Brissy and want to give him a go, you can PM me for the details. Someone has backed up my story of the 50min drop off and pick up
  12. Really well. The vet nurse gave me a call today with the results of the swob of the ear muck and to see how he was going. No bacteria grew, it was just yeast. So that's good news. She'll ring me again in a week to see if the ear has cleared up. Otherwise, everything has gone well. My boy is back to cocking his leg everywhere.
  13. I'm well aware about "pre surgical stuff" as you put it. The dog had been at the vet since 9am. By around 10-10am everything else had been done, minus the desexing. Exactly right. I left around 10-10am and got the call before 11 am. Both the breeder and myself were very surprised at how quick it was, but i have no problem with it. If an experienced vet calls me and tells me my dog is ready, i'm not going to question him. I have nothing but praise for this vet when i compare him to the previous idiots who have tried and failed to treat my dog. An added bonus is how cheap he is.
  14. How does the cover keep your dogs safe, CavNrott ? I didn't know about the BSB. The one i bought from Autobarn was very tough material wise, but the straps/clips were very weak. Having said that, i should've done what you suggested and not clipped it together until the dogs were seated. In the end, as much as i hate them, i bought a canopy for my ute. That solved all the problems of smell, slobber, hair and safety.
  15. If you have large dogs, i think they're useless. I bought a similar product from Autobarn. $60 When the dogs jump in, the weight stretched the buckles and straps and two broke off. I had them sewn back on, didn't tighten the straps as much, but again the straps broke away.
  16. If you'd read from the start you might see that i didn't just drop him off and pick him up within 50 mins. I arrived at the surgery just after 9am with my dog and the breeder. He was muzzled and we took him in. Myself and the breeder explained to the vet ( who knows the breeder very well ) what was wrong and the dog was sedated. ( knocked out i should say ) * He had a full check over, top to bottom * His ears were checked. He had yeast and blood in one. They were both cleaned and treated and a swob taken and it was to be sent away that morning * His nails were clipped * His prostrate was checked * He had a Thyroid test done * He had a preanaesthetic profile done * He had a C5 At this stage it was about 10am. I had been thinking about having him desexed and was discussing it with the breeder on the way down and i asked the vet his opinions. After this he told me i had about 10mins before he would reverse the drug and if i wanted to desex him, i should decide. Otherwise he'll wake him up and i can think it over more and have it done at a later date. In the end i asked the breeder again, i don't think she really wanted to, but i said yes go ahead. The vet told us it would be about 2 hours, so i drove the breeder home and was about to head off to a shopping ctr when i got a call at 10-50am saying he was ready. I arrived about 11-20am, had a chat to the vet nurse, paid the bill, received the medications and some info to take away about the desexing. I then went out back, muzzled him and walked him out to the car. Off i went. Very happy with this vet. He has no problems handling large, dominant dogs. Very good at what he does and as an added bonus, very well priced. I think i must've received a discount because the breeder and him know each other. It really was far cheaper than i expected. The C5 price was a huge shock.
  17. Obviously desexed dogs can't get testicular cancer. However, desexed dogs has 4 times more chance to develop prostate cancer. Just to set the facts right. Cheers You're kidding me, right ?? Wish i'd known that.
  18. Lovely old girl. She reminds me of my old girl who i lost Easter 2007.
  19. A prong collar is the only thing that gave me any control over my big bad boy. I use it with a martingale and a good quality leather leash. All bought from K9 Force. None of this has broken, which was always my fear with everything else i tried. I also have plenty of choke chains i don't need if the OP wants one.
  20. Hi, Your dog sounds a bit like mine. He has fear aggression and going to the vet can be a little bit of a pain with a large male dog such as mine. I went through it yesterday. What i've found is if you have to sedate your dog, do it in the waiting area, not in a small consult room. He won't feel as threatened, or be backed into a corner. Get the vet to approach from behind to sedate him while you and another person ( if required ) hold your boy and talk to him from the front and try to make him feel safe. I'd also use a good muzzle just to be safe. My dog is fine until the vet approaches him and goes to reach for him.
  21. I am. He's the same dog to me. Just might take a bit of getting used to. He worships the ground i walk on I visited the parents today to see my sisters baby, and even they couldn't believe i had him desexed. They were almost shocked. Yes, to some it's not the done thing for a guy to have his tough male dog to be desexed. Anyway, i won't go on about it. It's done.
  22. Not everyone sees it that way. My boys no longer a man to some. I didn't know you could desex them so young No, this boy won't be wearing pink. I've done enough to him already.
  23. That was the reason i decided for it. Main reason being his health, even though his prostrate and blood tests all were excellent. Maybe i should've let it go for another 6 months and re asess at that point. Too late now anyway. I regret it a little bit. Plenty of pink collar jokes already. I hope so, but it's too late now.
