  1. Mastiff breeds. Mastiff, Dogues, Bullmastiffs, Neos...
  2. Aww what gorgeous little grubs they are!
  3. Oooh love Asti and friend. Gorgeous.
  4. This is a typical Spencer pose. He usually sprawls out like this in doorways and in the middle of hallways. 11/52
  5. Spence had to have his anal glands expressed at the vet today cos he's been butt scooting. He only had them expressed a couple of months ago because they were blocked up. THe thing is, he's 9 years old and this is the first time he's ever had a problem with his anal glands. His stools are firm cos he gets chicken necks with dinner every other night and other bones, usually chicken frames as well. The vet suggested this sudden problem with blocked anal glands might just be because Spence is getting older. Would this be the case? Is there anything I can do to prevent them getting blocked? The only thing the vet suggested was adding more fiber to his diet by giving him weetbix or all bran.
  6. Wouldn't buy one. When Spence is outside the house/yard he's with me on leash. And if I was concerned about him escaping the yard, I'd rather spend the $269 dog proofing the yard or building a run.
  7. Same. When I want to send Spence to annoy my mum ("Nooooo! Get away from my black pants!! ) I'll say "Find mum!". I don't think I could ever bring myself to refer to myself as 'mum' or 'mummy'.
  8. Oh I'm so sorry to hear this CM RIP beautiful Texas
  9. CM - such gorgeous light in Lotus' week 9. And is that sand on CHester's tongue? KumaAkita - love the insight into Kuma's week. Looks pretty similar to what Spence does most of the day Kirislin - Pucky is gorgeous, but "most beautiful"? What about Tag?? Kickss- very cute! wuffles - I like the guest appearance by Satchmo. Is Ava giving him a kiss or is she in 'annoying little sister' mode? LuvLottie - great capture of Lottie shaking! She's all legs in that shot Shell - great photos of Zero. I like the one of him running with the big goofy grin on his face best. Weibritty - Love that shot of Marlo! I like the way you've captured all the water dripping off his muzzle. Helen - Glad Chazer's okay now. He looks very happy in that shot
  10. What filter did you use wags? I like the blue tinge on Riley's coat. tlc Bronson kinda looks like Lacy in that shot! I thought it was one of your girls at first glance. Don't tell Bronson I thought he was a girl though!
  11. Bella's book looks ace Helen! I especially like the coordinating front and back covers. WA - How cute is Halo! I see one of the consequences of living with fluffy dogs stuck on Halo's nose in your week 8 pic lol evolving - Bob needs a cape! And a spandex bodysuit and undies on the outside... wags - Riley is so gorgeous and shiny. And if it weren't for his frosting I'd think he was a much younger dog. RV - Toby is super handsome! anniek - Geez Cowboy has a hard life, lounging around on the couch between trips to the beach! *************************** This week I focused on Spencer's whiskers, one of my favourite features of his. When Spence gives kisses, he doesn't slurp you with his tongue like other dogs. He touches his muzzle to your cheek. It's gentle and soft and his whiskers tickle. 8/52
  12. Hey that's me! The one with the camera. Zephyr was leaning on me while I gave him butt skritches I had a chat to Katrina at the rotty stand. I'm in love with Merlin
  13. lol is that really Lotus in the middle of the splash? I can't make her out at all, but I can see a cartoon dog face. Two little ears at the top, eyes and a black muzzle.
  14. Something completely different from me this week. 7/52 My original plan was to have Spence even more OOF, but I kinda like the way this has turned out.
  15. Yep this is the only method that worked with my dog. Minus the second person, cos my boy's only 20kg. I tried the clicker + lots of treats method and it just made him more suspicious of the clippers! I do his nails straight after a walk. Get him lying on his side and start with his hind feet. If he grumbles I ignore and keep going. If he ramps up to a growl and I feel him tensing, I stop and hold his foot and massage his side until he calms again. ETA: A calm business-like attitude does wonders! I used to get quite frustrated trying to do nails and my dog reacted by getting more worked up. He's heaps better now that I make a conscious effort to stay calm and get on with it.
  16. I would consider anything more than very mild stress a problem. The dog doesn't necessarily have to be frantic and destroying things or trying to jump out windows. It might still be severely stressed and fearful without doing that. I'm sure some dogs would cower and pant and shiver instead. The fear would still be real for them.
  17. Brilliant idea and photo Helen. And if you had to have a pesky car drive through your photo, you could have done worse than a cool yellow mini lol that's exactly what he's doing. Whenever he's got a treat in front of him and is told to wait, he looks away so he's not tempted to grab it. Great shot of happy Lotus. I'd probably pick the pretty shot of Chester too.
  18. Great shots Shell! I've been planning on taking some photos of Spence at the playground too. Does Zero actually slide down the slide or does he run?
  19. I really love the third photo down kja! Which of your girls is that? I've only got a couple of me & Spence together
  20. Wow! Great photos of a very cute subject
