  1. they said that as long as the next blood test shows that her electrolytes and kidney are going back to normal, she will be fine. She is just sleeping. my poor baby.
  2. ok, blood tests show some anomalies with electrolytes and her kidneys. She is being kept in over night for monitoring, and staying on the drip; we can take her home tomorrow apparently.
  3. just rang them, she has had more vomiting etc. We are waiting on blood test results now.....Apparently she is just sleeping and is miserable. (thats what the girl said at the vets). I will have another update at 4pm or they will call before hand if the blood work is not so good.
  4. Thank you. She is at the vets, on a drip. They have been fantastic. I will know more around 2pm.
  5. Thank you everyone I just dont know how she got through to the other side of the garage. We have no idea. You do everything you can to keep them safe and then something still happens....... Im pretty shocked and spaced out myself. I just cant believe this is happening.
  6. Dearest Mia, mummy and daddy love you so much.....we dont understand how you got the bottle of weed killer that was on the other side of the gate in the garage. We dont understand why you thought it would be tasty. We dont understand how you got through to the other side of the garage. We love you desperatly, we dont want you to leave us. We are praying that our vet can help you through this. We love you Mia, and Charlie is fretting for you. Love Mummy, Daddy, and Charlie xo
  7. Hi team 3.30am this morning Charlie made this horrid hacking sound that he makes when he vomits, and then - promptly vomited. It was dense and dark, with his and Mia's hair through it. Ive never seen him vomit up hair before, and was a little concerned. The vomit was most likely that he has decided to eat an entire passionfruit - doesnt often do it, maybe twice before, but he always throws up like that when he does. Should I be more concerned these days about him vomiting? He is a garbage guts, so I feel like as long as he gets nothing poisonous.......There are no poisons/chemicals, or dangerous foods around for him. Vet wasnt worried about hte passionfruit as he threw it up. Its not a regular occurance, but he doesnt appear to be lethargic or have other symptoms. If he did, or if his vomit was somehting i hadnt seen before I would worry... but I feel a little more relaxed about it as he seems fine otherwise (im rambling arent I). its not something that happens everyday, maybe once every 2 or 3 months? The hair was off putting though. Does anyone elses pups vomit hair? Cheers all Jacqui
  8. me crying too. so happy for luki, and alll ur family. yay!!!
  9. Parkeyre are you suggesting the police would do something not above board!!! Not saying that they would do it; but i sure do hope they consider this rather then putting down the police dog who did his job. Well at least the dog has "the law on it's side"! He may well have to take a forced retirement though. no he wont. they will keep going on as normal - the dog did what he was trained to do.
  10. We have seen her bunny hop ONCE, in the very beginning- this was before we implented the ester c joint guard etc..... We are going to monitor atm - pending what our trainer suggests of course.
  11. Some people put stock into soaking the kibble in warm water for awhile to soften it? Im not sure if thats for encouraging them to eat it though. In the past i have tossed kibble in home made yogurt (in the early days, before raw).I have never had the problem though, my 2 inhale food if im not careful.
  12. Um i have no xrays....its just written on the paperwork that we got when we picked her up..... I feel really f*&king stupid now AND they did make a point of saying to us that she has it, but I just didnt think to ask for xrays. I just took their word.....I was so excited to take her home... I so silly.
  13. Um i have no xrays....its just written on the paperwork that we got when we picked her up..... I feel really f*&king stupid now
  14. Yes have just emailed our trainer (after I posted it on dol oops ) so im looking forward to her feedback - will follow up with your recommendation. Thanks Jacqui
  15. Yes you are right, ive been thinking that the only assurance we have that she has HD is that is what the vet at the RSPCA has told us. XRAYS probably are something to look into. I would hate to think she is in more pain that we are not aware of Its more me than her. I love cuddling her and it was a great shock to be snapped at so aggressivly by her. I walked away and cried for a few mins actually lol - what a nerd I am!
  16. Hi team Mia is nearly one, so still kinda a puppy. She has HD, and was a born at the RSPCA after her mum being seized at a puppy mill. We use VAN and Joint Guard, and a flaxseed supplement, and Ester C to assist with her HD. She has started growling and snapping when we cuddle. Charlie (other beagle) can be cuddled and snuggled to his hearts content, but when Mia comes in for a cuddle, quite often she will growl and then snap at us - she doesnt like being handled at all. I guess some dogs just don't like being handled? She is more agressive of the 2, i am concerned though that she may be in pain when we touch her in certain ways? She can run and play with Charlie though..... Just looking for thoughts/opinions. We are going to the Vet for her next lot of shots in a couple of months - wondering if I should schedule an earlier appointment? Thanks Jacqui
