  1. From my experiences, they cough anytime, day & night. My old Lab's cough used to sound like he had something caught in his throat was choking. It was awful. Some dogs can get KC and not cough much at all. We have only ever had KC here once. An 11 year old (KC vaccinated) dog had it the worst and only had a mild cough for a few days. Another (non KC vaccinated) coughed mildly for one day. Often they will cough if you put light pressure on their throat. Thank you
  2. Yes, I thought I remembered Bindi coughing all day and night too.
  3. Dogs with Kennel Cough, do they only cough of a night? Georgea has not coughed at all since this morning.
  4. Yes this is the second time I have had to explain my reasoning for just wanting C3. The last one was for Georgea. I was questioned, but I stuck to my guns and said that it is really to me about putting as least amount of poison in my dog as necessary. He accepted that with a grunt. I only realized that they gave Lily a C5 when I looked at her vaccination record. I asked on the phone for a C3. So this time I really wanted something to say that would make me sound like I knew the repercussion of my decision. But, when Georgea was diagnosed with KC and the risk it would put on Bow wow, I relented. Her booster will be a C3. I may change vets anyway, as the vet I loved has moved overseas. ;)
  5. Wow, thank you for all the responses. Unfortunately it became a mute point. Georgea who I took with me as well, because I thought she might have something stuck in her throat, because last night she began coughing. Turns out that she has Kennel Cough. Lily was checked all over and was given the all clear, and the vet said it was because she was vaccinated with C5 last vac and that Georgea has only had C3. Because I have Bow wow at home also who is nearly 14, with a severe heart murmur, it was recommended that I give Lily the C5. Also to keep all three separated to stop Lily and Bow wow getting it, ( more Bow wow). So I relented and allowed them to give Lily the C5. I had to take Bow wow over after I dropped the girls off home, to check that she did not have Kennel Cough. As this is what the vet was most afraid of. But thankfully Bow wow was given the all clear, though she has to start on another tablet for her murmur but we knew this was coming. So again thanks to all the wise words, as usual from the wonderful Dolers.
  6. Haha yep in the CKCS thread! Will go in open minded and listen to what he has to say. Thanks everyone great help as usual !!
  7. Thank you it is good to hear other opinions . My main reason is I hate all the chemicals that are going into dogs, and have read that it *may* lead to a suppressed immune system.
  8. Yes I know this! It was the first thing that came to mind, when I was questioned.
  9. Am taking Miss Lily for her 16 week vac at 10am, I have requested a C3 on advice from my Breeder. The vet nurse, question me as to why I dont want the kennel cough, and I told her that she wont ever be kenneled, plus my breeder advised me that she should only have C3. She said that I will have to talk to the vet, and that often breeders think they know more then vets. So now I have to come up with a good reason for not getting the C5. Quick answers would be much appreciated.
  10. I did not want to open this page My heart is breaking for you with such a huge loss, of such a gorgeous girl. RIP Cordelia
  11. I have a cavalier who from day dot was a terrible eater. I was so worried that she would starve to death, so I tried every tasty thing I could think off. I then fed her by hand and she would s l o w l y eat it. I tried every brand of kibble. She would eat it for the first day, then nothing. She was always a good weight, not skinny, and definitely not fat. So after nearly a year of worrying constantly, I just gave up. I put her kibble down of a morning, and if she ate it good, if not, then she went without. For tea i would alternate between, chicken necks, beef bones, hearts and liver. Again if she ate it good, if not, then again she went without. I did not give her any treats on the days that she would not eat. Georgea is nearly two and still not a big eater. But I have come to the realization that that is just her. There are still days where she will just have one meal. But that is her choice. She is always offered two. She is happy and healthy, so that is all that matters. :D I have recently acquired another Cav puppy and let me say that she is the complete opposite of Georgea!!!! This little girl is a pig and will eat anything.

Have my feelers out looking for a playmate. Though I would adore a pup, I honestly dont think I could go through puppy stage again :p , so I am looking for an already made one :p
