  1. so its kind of like haemophilia?? Would that mean that only dogs can be tested for it? And the bitch is a silent carrier?
  2. Poms are scooters... I have a couple of Poms here that do it just to get your attention. They scoot & bark at the same time.. We call them 'bum scrubbers'... I find it hilarious.
  3. I dont let my Pom puppies leave until they are 12 weeks old... The current litter wont be leaving until they are 16 weeks, as they arent starting their vaccinations until they are 8 weeks, because they were born so prem .
  4. How are you brining a bag over, if you don't mind me asking? Are you planning to sell it as well? Thanks! Easy Buy it from a over seas online pet product shop like http://www.petfooddirect.com/store/dept.as...mp;brand_id=633 http://alpha-nutrition.stores.yahoo.net/index.html Timberwolf Organics I'll post some others soon if you want.. Ive spoken to customs, and it doesnt seem hard at all.. eta: I dont think I could afford to bring it over in bulk to sell. Unless every single bag was prepaid in advance before I ordered. I too have my ABN, so can get it wholesale.
  5. I really like the look of Timberwolf.. But I also like the look of Flint River Ranch. I am currently looking at bringing a bag over wholesale. So far all is going good.
  6. Count me in.. Id have to let the fur kids try it first though.. They are fussy shits.
  7. I think barking is a 'toy breed' thing in general... yapping seems to be a great past time..
  8. It was disgusting. I have written a letter. But I doubt anything will get done.
  9. We have been using our vet since he came out of Uni. Toronto Veterinary Clinic - Scott Doyle & David Carraro, all their wonderful nurses, Lisa, Angela, Storm, Christie, Alexis.... They're all like family to us. They have NEVER let us down, and have always been so supportive. They're a great bunch :D I recently used a big sydney vet for something a bit more major (this vet was highly recommended to me), I get there, only to find the black bags with the dead animals, out on the footpath, a big tip truck pulled up behind me and just threw them in Fair enough, they have to be disposed of. BUt NOT left out on the footpath. Oh, not to mention, I was left in the waiting room 1/2 hour when I arrived. Nurses were walking around casually, no one acknowledged I even existed. When I got there to pick up my dog a few hours later, I was in the waiting room for 55 minutes!! Same thing, nurses walking around. I stood up and said 'EXCUSE ME, is anyone going to even acknowledge that I exist?' One extremely young girl walks out and says 'whatcha want'....... I get my dog, pay the money, ask if I can talk to the vet to see how the procedure went. But no 'she doesnt do that'
  10. My dogs wont touch them..... They wont touch anything that is 'intact'......... It'd have to be skinned, filleted, and diced into chewable pieces. :D
  11. Our big wusses wont eat anything that is still 'intact' whether it be a fish, rabbit, chook etc. They wont even go near it.
  12. My prem poms eyes began opening at 20 days
  13. Our GSD's are on Coprice, and the small dogs are now on Coprice Puppy, and they are dong EXCEPTIONALLY well.. I have always fed my toy dogs Royal Canin, but bought the coprice puppy for a change, and they love it. And are in great condition. It keeps the Italian Greyhounds at a lovely weight. I dont like them too skinny, I like a nice layer over their ribs. Coprice is excellent at our place
  14. I have a litter of 3 poms here who are 17 days old (Born a week premature), and their eyes arent open yet.
  15. Shark cartliage is excellent for these things. We had a bitch diagnosed with OCD. We had it operated on.. which didnt really do anything, so we put her on Shark cartliage capsules. She was great guns, and is now a detection dog.
  16. Try getting your hubby to feed, groom ,walk her for a week or two. If she doesnt eat when he gives it to her, then too bad. Get him to take it away from her. And try again the next day. He can take her for small walks with some yummy treats, and stop every now and then and call her to him, use the lead to wind her in, and then give her a treat & lots of happy talk. Ive never had problems with my Poms like that, but i know know stubborn they can be. And determined to get their way I am well and truly owned by 8 poms. However they have an outdoor run, out on the grass, where I put them during the day for time out. Not all day, just for intervals. Its good for them to have time out. Maybe get a C-crate and stick her in a pen outside :D I say c crate because of the lid, and not sure about your girls, but all mine will climb over anything that isnt 4ft high. With a face like she has, dont get sucked in when she tries to put pity on you for putting her in her place! :p
  17. I love my hydrobath.. Its great for the Sheppies, Corgi & Poms.. Not so good on the Iggies though.. They still get scrubbed down in the laundry tub. Excellent for getting right into the skin on the furry dogs.
  18. Clippers.. Poms are done weekly to keep their little 'cat feet', Iggies done every 2 weeks. Sheps once a month as they are on hard surfaces and run around like loonies.
  19. I use the lamb & chicken one with rice & vegies, thats the one my kids prefer, and it seems to agree with them pretty well.. I pay $3.99 for a large one from Woolworths. They also have the larger range of flavours.. Dont ever buy the platinum brand.. Its real horrid.
  20. I know a couple of breeders/exhibitors who feed just VIP rolls and usually added kibble either proplan or Advance. And their dogs are in excellent condition. Its what works for them. I couldnt feed it as a complete meal though. I am at the moment to the preggie girls, as thats all they will eat.
  21. I feed VIP rolls as an extra in the dinners to make some variety.. The dogs love them, and from reading the ingredients they seem to be okay. They have been a saviour for my pregnant girls who wont eat. As they love their VIP rolls so much, its the only thing they will eat at the moment. I think they are a great Idea. But I wouldnt feed 'just' the rolls. I always feed raw chicken/red meat first, and just chop the rolls up and mix it through.. Cheers Rox
  22. Id love to do ET with one of my Sheppies in particular. However, as he is used to sledding on the bike, I am really struggling to get him to 'slow down' and not pull.. He is fit, He can go 10km pulling me on the bike or scooter and doesnt get knocked up at all. But I hear they arent allowed to pull on the ET course??
  23. I dont really care where its from. As long as my dogs do well on it... Price, well, It can be expensive, no more expensive than EP or Nutro for that matter.. I buy 16kg every 3 months, and it lasts 8 poms and 3 Iggies quite well. My lot get Ziwipeak mixed with it too now, so it will last even longer.
  24. I feed RC to my little dogs more than anything else. Sometimes they will get EP or Nutro for a week for something different every few months, But RC is my no 1 choice when it comes to dry kibble. All my dogs love it, The Coats on the Poms dont break, and are amazing I find on EP The coats can become slightly brittle. The IG's maintain a healthy weight on RC and Its the only kibble ALL the little dogs will eat. Even my fussy little black dog will eat it at the moment.. Im a RC Loyalty member, so I get discounts
  25. I feel 'just kibble' is totally boring, and doesnt satisfy the dogs. Day in day out, would you like to be given boring old weetbix? or sayo's?? My guys are fed Royal Canin with Ziwipeak, but they only get small amounts of kibble, their meals consist mostly of chicken/beef mince, chicken wings, Frames, vegies/rice & pasta.. ALL the dogs here get bones every day. I rotate their dry food between Royal canin, Eaglepack Holistic & Nutro, as they get sick of eating the same kibble every single day. If its not fresh/good enough for human consumption, then I wont feed it to them. Even food that is off/old goes in the bin.
