I have bought the Canon 1000D Ok now what lenses will be good? The camera came with 18-55mm IS kit. The guy at Teds thought it wasnt worth getting the twin kit given most photos are taken of animals! I got him to add the 50mm 1.8 lens, memory card and camera bag and extended warranty for $799.85 I was $299 short so put it on layby til next week So which other lenses should i get?

I'll definately get a lens package i think, I have no idea what type of lens to get otherwise! I have ALOT of learning to do! I am going to some camera stores tomorrow to check out some DSLRs and being a newbie and never used a DSLR what things should i be asking the camera stores? I'm after a reasonably beginner friendly camera. I use cameras 90% of the time taking photos of animals - dogs, Rabbits and birds really and nature life. The rest of the time I am taking photos of babies and friends. Last year i got a Compact Canon which my mum is getting when i upgrade I am trying to decide between Canon EOS 1000D and Nikon D3000. I rather start off in a lower priced more suited to a beginner like myself and then as i learn and develop i can easily upgrade in a few years time or whatever. I've been following the other threads, and looking at reviews and am pretty set on these two not really sure how to decide between the two though! Any thing i should ask these people. ETA: What does it mean when they say Twin lens and others don't say this? Does that mean the others have no lens included at all?

Hope to see you next time, though i'm not quite sure as it's mum's birthday the next kepala. depends if mum wants to do anything for the day or if i can just make up for it by taking her out the day before for dinner at her favourite restaurant. If I come, i'll be bringing a doggy birthday cake for Charlotte's birthday. It's a couple weeks early at kepala but she'll be 5 years old September 26 Where has my baby gone!

Thanks for such a nice day everyone. Looks like i'll be heading to the docs in the morning! Oh well at least Charlotte got to have a nice day out. Rupie was inside on his bed when i got back, doesnt even look like he missed me! I didnt take many photos today, hopefully they upload ok on the laptop!

Thanks Pip. I might still come, cant guarantee how long my voice will hold out though! Dad said he will pick me up again if i feel horrid with the weather! Mum is giving Charlotte a brush for me, so i dont have to do it before kepala. See you all tomorrow if i am no worse that is.

We might not be able to come either I'll see how i feel in the morning then decide. I've come down with a horrible sore throat as of last night suddenly after i ate a chocolate chip cookie I found in the cupboard in the house. No idea what was in it, but my throat is killing me. Taking stuff for it, so if i am feeling better in the morning then i'll come. Not 100% sure if i'll manage 2 dogs at once, i might just bring Charlotte and leave Rupie home with some bones and treats. So if I don't make it my appologies. If I dont come i'll have to organise to catch up with a couple of you before the next meet.

What about Lort Smith Animal Hospital? I volunteered there for over 2 years ;) And my dog is in the PALS program (pets are loving support) visiting nursing homes etc for an hour every 6 weeks.

You can probably guess, it's pretty obvious He is very spunky, friendly and is such a cuddle bum. Everything I wanted in adding a new show boy :D You'll have to meet him one day! You'll love him! Kirst goldens, do you really want me to come or want my golden to cuddle! I'll see what happens. The owner is out for only 4 or 5 hours per day (she works from home and works part time). So will see and base it on how he is going :D Hopefully he isnt too stressed not having his owners there, usually they just get someone to pop in once a day so he should be ok for me to leave for the day, i mean if i had an interview somewhere i'd have to leave for a fair few hrs anyway so it's probably going to be alright to leave for most of the day to come to kepala.

Oh I'm sorry about the OH Pointees. Plenty of fish in the sea Charlotte will be missed at kepala for sure, will talk to Rupert's owner when I get there friday morning and ask what he's like and if it's safe enough to leave him home or if she would be happy for him to come with me. Apparently he is really good off lead around other dogs, i'll check if they would be comfortable or not with him going. I'm sure he would love to go. I'll post up some piccies soon of Blue boy. He's my old boy Yoshi's grandson so i'm happy to have gotten him. He's around 8 or 9 mths old, and is a proven stud buck already so i'll use him over a doe when he settles in I'm trying to come up with a name for him! I'm trolling the pet name sites.
