  1. Oh Pointees, I am coming up to Wyndham Vale tomorrow morning, but wont have time to catch up with the doggies. I'm picking up 2 new birdies and a Blue Mini Lop buck on the way home then have to start packing for house sitting and somewhere in all this limited time before friday manage to bath Charlotte for mum. Might just take her to the groomer to do her. I have such limited time at the moment til i am back from housesitting. It's also looking like I will be unable to come to kepala Charlotte will not be happy, but i am really unsure about leaving Rupert alone for so many hours only a couple days after starting. Not knowing the temperament with other dogs, i'm too worried to bring him with us as well.
  2. I met two Saints in the vet the other week, one was a big fella and the other was a massive full of pups looking girl. Charlotte had her whole head plastered with slobber! The other one we met was at a park and it was a puppy so as youd imagine very big cuteness factor there.
  3. Yes please do mention kepala, i'd love to meet one! The biggest slobber monster i've met was a Saint Bernard
  4. Sounds like the Pointees had a great time with the Dogue De Bordeaux! I've never met one in the flesh before.
  5. What a big relief Pip! I hope the Anti inflammatories do the job. I am glad that it's not HD, and if she does end up having to have her ACL repaired, I can personally say how good dogs are once they're healed and back to their usual self. I wouldnt hesitate to put Charlotte through another operation if she does the other one. It was a tough 6 weeks of crate confinement and feeling sorry for her, but in the end she's come out looking very good, and in all honesty now everything is back to normal she's like what she was at 2 years old - silly, extremely energetic and full of life! Wishing Tika all the best and hoping she does well on the anti inflammatories Charlotte has been very silly the last 2 days it's been bitterly cold and what does she do? Gets the bricks off the clam shell pool and lays down in it waiting for me to notice where she is! Damn water baby. In this cold weather she has absolutely no brains!
  6. Glad its going so well for them all
  7. Pointees: I'm sure she wouldn't have stopped. I can guarantee she is like a puppy again! She's on the go all day everyday. She just doesnt stop. At this rate i'll need to live on a dog park to satisfy her! My dad is more than evil, he's dangerous. I could have had an accident! Mum and I arent telling him about the lessons just one day he'll find out i have my P's and wonder how Evolving: Can't wait to see Alera again! How has the settling in gone? Is Bob happy? I bet Echo loves having a little sister to play with.
  8. Pointees: I haven't driven in ages! Time to drive my car around a bit. Having gotten my L's prior to the new rules i don't have to show the proof of 120 hours experience. I will have already gotten that much anyway, but the plan is to get my P's end of the year or early next year all going to plan of course. I have a lesson tuesday and then one of my friends is taking me out wednesday. Mum wont take me out and i refuse to drive with dad ever again! We were driving down the ring road and he fell asleep and was snoring. I was basically driving on my own! Mum is basically frightened of another accident i think (I had a major accident when i was 16 and first got my L's and mum's been freaked out to let me drive with her since then!) Pity that i'm busy so much at the moment or else i'd come and meet up with you Pointees!
  9. I go to bed anwhere between 2 and 4am (I have sleeping issues and most nights) then get up around 8 or 9am depending on plans the next morning. My dog goes out around midnight, then when i get up i open the door for her to go out but she usually doesnt want to go out til midday sometimes later! I don't use crates unless i need to, in our case she doesn't mind crates or her normal bed. I only got the crate for trialing but i dont wish to trial anymore so it's no point using the crate unless its for a purpose. She does bark to let us know she needs to go if she needs to in the night, but she's almost 5 years old so she doesn't generally need to.
  10. aww lovely photos Sounds great about the diggers rest one. I'm contemplating starting to drive again which i havent been for a good 4 or 5 months now so fingers crossed i have a license by end of year
  11. My dog has been having it once daily for 10 months now. I don't like some of the joint supplements that have a fishy smell. The joint guard doesnt smell and she polishes it off. If there was something fishy smelling she definately wouldnt eat it. My dog is fed 2 small meals daily but i find it easier to feed the supplement once daily as it's too hard to mix it in with the dry food so she gets it with her meat in the morning.
  12. Good for you taking the plunge and getting one! I'll definately ask for your advice when i eventually get one! Sounds like a good idea to go to a photography class
  13. Maybe PM AnimalMad because I know she's a groomer in the area who could either recommend a place out that area or she would do the dogs for you!
  14. Hope your lappies do well at the royal! Is Sohvi and Bear entered or just one? I remember seeing Sohvi and Bear at the expo, it was good watching my first dog show i've ever attended! LOL Yes I will be absolutely flat out! In our shows we have BIS, Runner up in show, Best Adult, Best Under 5 months, Best Under 14 weeks (they can be entered from 8wks old), Best Fancy (which all 3 breeds i own are Fancy breeds), Best Lop and Best Dwarf. I've never gotten BIS show before but lately Achilles my best show boy a 900 gram Netherland Dwarf has gotten alot of RUIS. All these rabbits have never been entered in the royal, because i havent been able to afford to do it, but this year, i'm definately doing it. My best show boy's coat has decided now is the best time to start a full on moult :D He's doing well for his age, hoping to get his Grand Championship by the end of the year Only another 15 stars to go (royal is 5 stars i think), UK 2 day show is 4 or 6 stars and NZ show is 4 stars, then i have agricultural shows worth 2 stars each til the end of the year after the royal. Thankfully not one clashes with kepala! ;)
  15. darn! I was hoping they were on saturday! I'll look at the finances if i can afford to come in another day as well to see them :D I'm waiting for my entry form to come then i'm entering, wait for it 13 rabbits in the royal! My Friday is going to be rather busy the day before the royal! Getting that many ready. It's going to cost ALOT of money to go this year but think i can pull it off.
  16. LM: You sound busy with shows over the next few months! Are you doing melb royal? I'll be there September 25 when are the lappies on? I'm hoping this housesitting dog will be energetic and need lots of walks so that i'll get heaps fitter! Poor fella lost his brother 6 months ago to cancer (they were litter brothers from lort smith) so his family think he would benefit having someone stay with him I spoke to her this arvo and they said he would be ok for most of the day to be alone for me to come to kepala.
  17. I think Charlotte and Bronte are competing for bubble dog title! Vet checked her ears and both are infected. He says it probably started before kepala but it's just escalated since then. Ear drops twice daily wont i be popular! :p We're meeting a family on the weekend for my first house sitting job in august. Not sure what to do because i'll be looking after a Staffy/whippet/pointer cross fella for a week and that first weekend is kepala He likes dogs but not too many so i couldnt bring him out. Charlotte and I will come to kepala but not all day, surely she'll be happy to be there most of the day but just not all day. Will probably need to leave at about 1:30pm.
  18. Pointees: The plan was to let Charlotte have a run around then pick the new birdies up in wyndham vale, but i've been waiting for the breeder to say when they're ready. The fledged a few weeks ago so it shouldnt be too much longer...
  19. i've never seen them. Thanks for the suggestion, i'll hunt around for them!
  20. Thanks RL, she has bounced back very well after her surgery and needless to say is unstoppable now! Hope you and your rotties make it to kepala again soon. No swimming for Charlotte at the moment She's come down with 2 infected ears. Not sure if it had started before or after kepala but boy it looks sore. Theres a yellow-green pus discharge and its red raw in both ears. I've got her into the vet for Thursday to get antibiotics. Perfect example of when you dont clean out your dogs ears after swimming :D Definately not going swimming til it's 100% cleared up which she will not be happy about, but it'll only get worse if i take her swimming.
  21. I have the same problem with my girl. She can tolerate Roo but no other type of meet/bone or else she gets the runs something chronic for a minimum of 5 days running The only thing with roo is it is a rich meat, so I dont give it daily. She has it only a few times a week. I am also wondering what a bambi ear is..
  22. Yes in photos it is harder isnt it! I'm a medium fluffy gundog person not a big fluffy Spitz person
  23. The way I could tell them apart was Buffy had the shorter coat, Dakota has pink Harness and isn't as tall as Tika and Tika was the big fluffy teddy coat!
