  1. Colour aside, I hope Dee al has chosen a pup the opposite sex to her Labrador. they are the same sex, except the lab doesnt live in the same house as to where this puppy will live. I didnt go out and buy the first puppy i found, and i also know that the kennel name doesnt have blue in their name watsoever. Both parents have had all the necssesary health checks and neither of the parents have had any skin or health problems. I did research on different breders around, because i wouldnt buy a puppy from just anyone.
  2. I know that a doller makes them, but i cant find the link. Could someone please send it to me?
  3. Ill upload them soon. Ive only got the pics the breeder has sent me so ill have to get her permission before i use her pics..otherwise ill post some as soon as i get him home...now to pick oujt a name....
  4. Hes a little blue staffy. My OH loves staffies, so we talked about it and the puppy we would buy would be a staffy. He has alwys wanted a blue staffy, so the breed and colour was pretty much decided, but i was the one who was to pick the actual puppy itself. ETA- i know alot of you told me to pck another colour, but i am well aware of the health issues that may occur with this particular colour, Ive done a lot of reasearch on it and ill continue to research it. The puppy is for a pet and a companian, not breeding, showing etc.
  5. As a few of you may remember, my OH and i have been looking for a puppy for a little while now. We finally found one! we will be picking him up this weekend! It is going to be a very long week
  6. can any staffy owner please do me a fasvour and ,measure their dogs back? from the neck to the base of the tail? im trying to buy Stanely a new jumper but i cant measure him! i just need a basic measurement. thabks!
  7. How would you answer the question "Do you work full time?" or "How many hours per week do you work?" I simply wouldn't answer it. It's no ones business but mine and if that meant I wouldn't be considered for a puppy from that breeder, then I probably wouldn't want one. By the same token, if they wanted references, whether they be from vets, employers (god I still can't believe that particular requirement), friends, dog trainers.......I'd look elsewhere. True. Why should it matter how many hours you work? Im and work for 9 hours a day, and yet my dog is perfectly loved, carde for, looked after, excersied etc. he is devoted to only me. dogs sleep all day when we arent around most of the time. theres no perfect world where people can spend the every waking minute with their dogs. these days people are working mor and more hours to be able to afford things, doesnt mean we love our dogs any less.
  8. He's red staffy is well bred but has a skin problem, no one can work out what it is though....
  9. Umm.... He did tell me the prefix but I couldn't hear too well anyway. We might be goin to look this weekend so I'll ask again. I'll get all the details of them. The pups can't leave for a month or so anyway.
  10. This ones from a registered breeder who does show and stuff, so they don't breed for colour. Both parents have hip and elbow scores done and they are both registered and the pups will be too. We aren't looking for show quality at all, just as a pet and companion for Stanley. Thanks for the explanation, will be very usefull!
  11. i posted a while ago about my oh lookin for a blue staffy pup. we found a litter 2 days ago and he really lijes these puppies. the only issue is that atm the puppies are blue but the motheris a blue brindlecolour so the breeder says the puppies may develop brindle later on. the father is a solid blue, so couldthe blue genes just cancel out the brindle? he isnt a big fan of brindle....
  12. how is she classed as mismarked? Because of no colour on her face?
  13. nawwwww, Kinta is such a pretty girl!
  14. OH and I are looking for blue coloured staffies atm, mainly becasue he loves the colour. Every breeder ive come across so far have been registered breeders and dont breed just to produce the colour. I woudlnt buy a pup from a breeder that only trying to produce a certain colour.... But its the same with other dog breeds too, i found an add today for so called "rare chocolate labs' hmm yes because its unlikly that pretty much every second lab in the show ring is chocolate....
  15. My dogs generally dont wear collars unless they are going for a walk, in the car etc. But after the time someone opened my gate while i was at work the the war goin on with my neighbours, i want them to wear a collar at all times in case they are let out again, so they can have their tags on. I was trying to find the quick release collars but i can find any! where should i be able to get one from?
  16. A few more of Stanely, with hes favorite toy, the good old Kong! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1146...mp;id=591015045 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1146...mp;id=591015045 hes got nice big shaved neck on the otherside atm. Hes got some kind of skin allergy and so the vet shaved him so she could get a better look. She hasnt worked it out yet so we have cream for him and hes on steroid tablets so hopefully he will clear up....
  17. yeah my vet said the same thing. Once he had gotten over the initial shock and wasnt groggy or what ever he was pretty right, I left him for around 2 or 3 days and then after thatt i walked him, just halfed the time and the distance.
  18. remember being under control on the odd meet is one thing, being unsupervised and suddenly seeing a herd of noisy, running prey animals can do strange things to a dog Nah I mean he's been un restrained and hasn't looked twice at them. Hey Gayle, he would onlyreally be out there of a weekend and most the days he would be inside anyway so yeah. I reckon once he and Stanley (oh staffy) got to know each other he would just stick with Stanley. At home here I can leave the gate open and he won't go out or if he does he just sits out on the front verandah.
  19. Oooohhh Frangepani's!!!! they are my fave choic of flower. But its too cold down here so i cant grow any
  20. Thanks for the tips guys! He is good with he's recall but he's also trained in trackin and really does like to follow he's nose. He hasn't been out there yet coz I want to introduce Kane to OH's 2 on mutual territory. Both he's dogs are pretty placid ( ones a staffy whi I've posted pics of before and the other one is a quite aged blue beeper) but both are intact males and although kanes aggression has settled way down he sometimes has issues with dogs tryin to dominate him. I already know he's fine with live stock coz i've always had horses, and he's been around cows and sheep and has never cared about them at all.
  21. My OH lives out on a property, hes got 2 dogs which have lived out there pretty much their whole lives (since they were puppies). The dogs are only penned at night time or if their isnt anyone home for a long period during the day. Im not living out there but i am spending alot of time out there and im feeling really bad, like im neglecting Kane it makes me feel like a really bad parent. The issue is, he has always just lived in a normal backyard so im pretty sure that without the normal fencing hes used to, he will just go exploring and i may not find him for a while. Is there anyway id be able to train him to just hang around the house?
  22. My OH's staffy never barks at all! The only time he barks is if there is a real reason to it. Its probably good though, coz hes got a bark like a maltese lol. Its funny, the keg on legs has the weirdest, sofest, girliest bark lol.
