  1. The State finals was won by Amanda Marsden,Runner up rachael Hutchings 3 place senior Tina sunman Junior winner Bindi(something like that ) Bonham
  2. You need to show the best for the dog. If its pacing the yard then yes it sounds like a habit forming. This is when you need to break his rule of thought & be prepared with either food, toy or tug the lead.if need be bend down & tap his bum anything that breaks his train of thought & mot be so comfy in his gait I see people every weekend running around the ring with no idea there dogs are pacing & often the judge may make a comment & ask for the handler to try again but often the dog does it again so the judges give up. A good ring to watch is giant breeds like Newfoundlands ,you will often see there handlers bump them off balance as they run off. The circle can be very successful PROVIDING you keep the momentum going but its often better to do the unexpected tactic & do something different. A bored dog can also be a chronic pacer so also consider how fun you make it
  3. First off a trip to a doggy chiro or bowen to ensure the body isn't out of whack. Yep many methods ,circle before moving off, bumping the dog of balance, make it exciting to move off with food, toy, gentle tug Ensuring the speed is correct Make sure if you walk the dog at home it also doesn't pace, i see many dogs walking around the block that pace & they often end up more muscle sore as well, also consider biking the dog to get a pace set
  4. Baywatch waterfun waterfowl waterdog waterproof waterwatch lifeguard
  5. We boarded many Pitbulls with super owners & they where an absolute delight to be around. A number where owned by very high up doctors (certainly very few by drug dealers ) We have boarded many other breeds that if i didn't now the breed better would put them on the "never own "list,Owners who have created monsters . The fact is it doesn't matter if you don' get it,there are many responsible Pit bull owners out there .there are breeds you have listed that many people wouldn't own & have temp issues they just don't hit the headlines. One breed in particular you have listed is well known for temp issues & biting Work in the dog grooming field for a week & you will have a whole different opinion
  6. the 3 yearly is the basic vacc & you needt to get the canine cough done yearly People should check the prices though some vets are charging over the top prices for the 4 yearly & it can end up expensive, Many of our clients brings there bills with them & many are paying around the $130 plus mark for it which is There is much debate over how the 3 yearly is made up & whether its the same just turned into a 3 yearly or more you rarely get the same answer from even those in the field
  7. yes one of mine has had three yearly & the co owner/breeder is a vet. Mason as far as show handling classes go pick wisely. classes should be about learning not being made to feel stupid or the dog handled in a manner that is over the top Go down and watch ,you have tuesday with Helena or thursday with wolfproud/spitz club ask your breeder as well Better still if you own a video camera or similiar videos the Labs at the shows
  8. We never do the booster & we show our pups from 3 months. 5 weeks never heard of any breeder doing them that young especially on a pup so small .
  9. Its was $800 to send a 3 kg dog many moons ago prices aren't cheap, generally $1200 plus
  10. GSD have done very well in the All Breeds ring in Perth . I showed my GSD All Breeds only before he retired & he was a big winner when the breed numbers where 20 or more. His breeders showed Multi All Breeds BIS winners on a consistent basis. The problem i see with a number of the GSD shows All Breeds in Perth is there ring manners aren't exactly pleasing on the eye, they shouldn't be pulling like crazy with legs going in all directions . Loose lead ,free baiting & picture perfect & any GSD will do well if its a good rep.
  11. Yep snake season never ends & i now of 3 dogs already killed by snakes .the warmer weather just makes them more active & seeking food so often more cranky at this stage
  12. I would suggest shorter walks with plenty of treats. It sounds like the dog hears the same old same form you that it means nothing or your boring & the outside world is more interesting to the dog. If the dog is food driven then take plenty of treats & use it to your advantage to maintain attention & to teach the dog to listen. It does sound like you need assistance to understand where your going wrong & the sooner the better
  13. pretty green, now why can't i win lotto so easily
  14. Gundogs Irish Browne/Tyler Gordon Beer/Norton BIS Lhaso RUIS Irish I think thats correct
  15. We do Chicken & Pumpkin here ,Pumpkin is great for dogs with the runs ,we would also add floramax tabltes to help with the gut bacteria
  16. BOB best of breed RUBOB Runner up Best of Breed CC Challenge winner RCC reserve challenge BIS Best in Show BIG Best in Group
  17. Kennel solution may not work if they haven't brought there vacc card with them or the dog isn't current. If the dog is current then there vet should be able to fax/email a vacc copy.
  18. we had Beddies who luckily where clear but besides the diet you need to also watch your water supply as generally people have copper pipes.
  19. One suggestion would be if the dog is due to be vaccinated get it done before you head to Karratha & maybe consider the 3 yearly, the vacc prices up there are bad. I would also stock up on Heartworm meds & tick meds before you get there, perfect weather for heartworm & they have brown dog ticks up there often in plague form . Not sure what you feed & what your happy to adapt to
