  1. Your breeder should be able to supply you with any grooming info . There will be groomers who can do it BUT show grooming is done weekly so the cost factor would be astronomical plus you always need to do tidy ups with the next bath. Many of the Poodle people run grooming salons & they would be able to scissor no drama's. If the coat is correct texture the body is easy to do with a good eye & right equipment .the head is harder especially waiting for it to grow. Have you learnt about banding the face to minimize staining ??
  2. AAE Animals for which a veterinary certificate (dated within ten days of the travel date) is required: * A pregnant animal or an animal that has given birth within 48 hours prior to travel o A pregnant animal will only be permitted to travel if a veterinary certificate is supplied certifying that the animal is fit for travel and there is no risk of it giving birth during the journey.
  3. puppy was the Irish owned by Greg & shown by Linda
  4. The Standard Long Dachshund is often referred to the Irish Setter in a small body. I have experience with both smart, loyal.loves the world but has that Gundog nature . Std Longs where used as water retrievers so very gundog orientated . Cavaliers are sporting spaniels so should be very gundog orientated as well ,shed like nothing on earth though & can be chronic snorers
  5. For me a true professional handler is someone who is the complete package. conditions & grooms & handles the dog . A Handler to me is someone who can be paid or assist friends in handling a dog in a manner that is highly competitive & brings the best out of that dog & breed. Age can be as early as . Wins do play a factor BUT assessing a teamwork between handler & dog is first & foremost
  6. The thing is places like the US often don't have kennel names they pay for like us
  7. Yep you need her to settle & also don't push things that you want, ignore the pup but talk to her in a confident voice . Some pups can settle from day 1 others can take a few days or even weeks ,often it depends on the household expectations & whether your confusing the pup with things its not ready for. How was the pup with the breeder?? Was the pup outgoing when you saw it or quiet?? What are the parents like?? Where was pup raised inside/outside?? What advice did the breeder give you for settling the pup?? Is pup left alone during the day or is someone home??? When you say wont come when called remember you are most likely using the name you have selected which "pup" has no idea off. When we have pups they are all called "pup" so if you wish to try calling using "pup & see what happens. Is your voice tone encouraging or insisting??
  8. Corona is like a very bad gastro bug but has a very good survival rate. Given the area has a high Rat issue then i would be considering C7 for the Lepto aspect & there has been issues with outbreaks of certain health issues due to the floods. C7 is an over kill in most cases unless you are in a very high risk area with rats .
  9. Here they get ice cream,2/3 scoops each day & stakes the weight on . But i also feed raw mutton, necks etc etc
  10. This has been known for many years . The breeds that don't shed are only suggested as being more suitable in some cases but no means of a guarantee
  11. Yep Irish BIS Ch Eireannmada Queen of Rock Go Tina
  12. Its the second break in in the kennel zone.obviously the burglars can't read the big signs . Although the one in Canning Vale a few weeks back was midday
  13. given what some humans do in bed why would a dog be any more unhygienic ??? I have 3 on my bed currently & have always had dogs The vets i now who are dog lovers also have dogs sleep on the bed ,the types of vets i like
  14. Don't worry about treats, the more you smell odd the more it affects the pup, don't go overboard just use simple measures. Rubbing of towels, toys etc etc we have never bothered with in over 25 yrs of breeding & never had any pups suffer because of it nor the ones we have brought ourselves. The more you make of it the more the pup will be cautious . As already mentioned depending on pick up time ask the breeder to feed very early or a partial meal Ensure pup has toileted Place in car To be honest we never stop unless the dog is restless whether it be new pup or adult ,on long trips we do stop but not at set hrs just keep driving . Pack spares towels/bags & water bowl /water ideally if anything bottled water or fill bottle of home water as water changes can give some dogs the runs but just keep it simple
  15. Our breed has many vets BYB & breed some of the worse specimans, one also encourages there buyers to breed . Having kennels we get many DD dogs & the likes in & its interesting to see which vets are the chosen one for certain chains of petshops or well known farms
