  1. There is no miracle coat grower. Growing coats is all about the diet being feed, coat maintenance & the family genes
  2. Puppy was the Staffy . Minor may have been the staffy & the border Puppy.I cant remember but both these breeds won either of those classes
  3. BIS puli RUIS cavie baby Chow minor i think B collie puppy junior GSD inter RUIS Aust BIS open Rotty
  4. Well i would have simply moved away.If you chose to take a dog to a large gathering you have to be prepared for things that can go wrong & deal with it. The minute i felt i was getting blocked in i would have moved anyway because a dog & an auction could lead to something going a stray anyway & still causing a fuss. The kid may have been a monster he may have been bored out of his mind & playing La la or could have had an issue but either way when we take dogs out in public we have to be prepared for the unexpected . maybe im more inclined to think that way as i showdogs & im always mindful of dogs & public places
  5. black to black will produce S/P .We often get S/P in our black breedings because there are very few blacks that are line breed black. I dare say your pedigress arent solid black breedings
  6. Unless your mini has an enormously thick under coat there is no way i would use a #30. We groom alot of minis & i think there is only one we have to use a #30 on & its a black with a horrid coat, generally a #30 will scalp them to nearly bald & then you have the sunburn risk & general itches as it regrows. #15 is again only used on some dogs who have the coat tolerate that size blade. Dont think using a #30 means less often because it doesnt & a #30 is harder to get through a coat that is over grown & increases clipper rash
  7. Thanks, I have posted it there however have been told it is against guidelines to advertise dogs that are not desexed?! Does anyone have any other ideas to find them a new home? Have you contacted the breeder & i would never rehome an entire bitch asking for all sorts of weirdos to want her for the wrong reasons. Spay her now & then weed out the right owners
  8. Yep & would do so for quite awhile. We also find pumpkin better than rice.
  9. #30 on the tummy We groom all pet schnauzers like there hand stripped as different areas grow faster head/neck/bum grows faster than the top coats so we dont do once size all over . We may use a #15 on the bellies but that is only on dogs with an intense coat under there, generally a #10 is fine & going backwards in some areas is fine . How long between grooms ??
  10. Yep my gordon & ES ,scratching tonight going to sit & watch instead
  11. I won both breeds but scratched one from grp specials,he just doesnt deal well with heat so he can stay home tonight
  12. Didnt show last night but many no awards handed out by the european judges
  13. we will repeat if there is low numbers/one sex or a situation has occurred with the lines vanishing quicker than planned otherwise i dont see the point of doing to many repeats for future progression BUT we would never not consider it
  14. What is the goldie doing during these phases. Its important to remember this is a 3 dog household & not just 2 pups.
  15. never to old. Although we have never ever used a hard door here. All our doggy doors are cllear & heavy plastic so the dogs can see & it doesnt hurt when going through
  16. Diet is often the major cause of skin issues. If you brought your pup from a reputable breeder they would have given you a diet chart?? Did you follow the suggested diet?? What are you actually feeding that also includes treats. Is the dog regularly groomed & not matted?
  17. I think the Chine crested won grp & pug runner up
  18. okay so if i read it correctly you are using 2 doors for training but he doesnt really have access to either??? I would suggest stick to the one door you expect him to use & get him into the routine of going out himself now, some dogs dont deal well with confusion at this age. I would also not allow access to the bed. Either get another bed or just use a mat/blanket to break the routine of that bed
  19. All the breeders i deal with dont send photos & we dont either but many do so that area doesnt bother me but simple contact within reason should be able to be done. The reason i say within reason is because some new to be owners can simply drive you mad with emails.i now its exciting & the likes but some go over the top like you dont have a life outside of dogs & expect a response within a time frame. I would do what sway has said & just ask about getting the ball rolling on transport ,if they could send through there puppy contract & food iet chart so you can get organized & see what happens. Although there seems to be alot of deposit been taken & not much happening. We never take deposits but again each to there own.we work on commitment from both sides.
  20. We use muzzles when ever required & have no qualms about doing so.. We find the dogs that wish to snap/bite actually calm down once muzzled & that during the groom it can be removed for reward & put back on in any area there is the slightest tinge of biting. In the18 yrs of being a full time groomer i have never been bitten. Certainly had dogs that make it difficult & you learn to use different body positions or tools for the job, being creative about how to complete the job is often the trick. We have only had 1 dog we refused to do again & it wasnt due to bitting but the over all behaviour & the enormous size, wasnt prepared to risk the damamge from this dog
  21. There has been a bully doing the rounds of kennels & being turned away due to various experiences by other kennel owners. may not be the same dog . They knocked on our door last week & wont go into detail about the issues & then went next door not sure what happened after that. they had been in another kennel prior & picked up that morning. many kennels wont take Bullies due to there destruction issues & other feel they dont have the facilities to house them correctly depending on how well they have been raised. We board alot & all are great dog but we had one that ate everything & anything given a chance
  22. No national this year. The last national was last year in Perth but the Poodle club holds there annual champ shows. Go to your states poodle club website for info(the links are on the breed pages)
