not sure if this is what you had in mind but SOCARES is trying to get a police task force going and recommends writing these letters http://www.socares.com.au/so_cares_calls_for_police.htm

You need to read posts better and work on your tact.

http://www.theherald...rd/2611205.aspx apparently he has been found http://www.theherald...05.aspx?src=rss interesting to find out if he was stolen and released or if there is just this panic going around. Port Stephens LAC Facebook page insists that dogs are not being taken as it hasn't been reported. this seems strangely at odds with the newspapers and radio

not sure if this is what you had in mind http://www.muswellbr...gs/2599607.aspx http://www.theherald...ts/2597944.aspx http://www.theherald...ts/2596206.aspx i imagine someone going around collecting all the free to good homes would be more easy to identify?

It is the same Tank. Apart from him having no marks it sounds like the same people who are stealing these dogs for fighting. They take the dogs and then dump them near where they were stolen when they are done in very poor condition. The whole thing sounds so dodgy it could be related especially given the area and the timing. The local hardware store said they have had a lot of people come in for chains and padlocks so at least the word is getting out. I dont understand how the police can have the model of a vehicle and three digits of the number plate and not know who it is

singleton the post seems to be gone now though so who knows
-
there are of the thefts - i posted one on Page 1 and there are more on the Herald site and other local paper sites. have yet to see one on the pound theft though
-
not the first time unfortunately. eta - I didn't notice it was ALL dogs that is obviously more than someone trying to get their dog back without having to pay a fee

You should probably do more research before spouting garbage Your first paragraph is just laughable. More factors are taken into these things than aggression. There would also be considerations as to body type, speed and trainability. Airedales have been used by the police, army and to hunt big game and they are not hard or aggressive. How many hunting dogs are? Interesting how You don't listen and you spout nonsense without any facts to back you up.

you can't judge a whole breed on a one off incident. As I've said before, you do not know the circumstances surrounding that particular dog. Labs http://kgarcia1113.h...-Dog-Kills-Baby GSD http://latimesblogs....ry-housing.html and there are many more where children are severely injured You could probably find things about any breed

what a cutie

There was a warning on Facebook that they are going around looking in people's backyards.
-
I think they are looking into Tank's death, but other than that don't see a problem http://www.theherald.com.au/news/local/news/general/call-for-police-to-investigate-dog-thefts/2597944.aspx

I think I read somewhere labs were taken as well for the same reason. Disgusting

I thought some of the pictures were better than what they ending up choosing. I couldn't get over the woman who couldn't turn her camera on. I guess it would be a stressful experience though. Geez that woman was brave to let them photograph her wedding. I hope they gave her more than the three photos though.

indeed. i am so upset I don't know where to begin. Dogs should be allowed to run around the yard, we shouldn't have to worry about keeping them inside when we aren't home or making a run to lock them in. i understand the police are busy but think more should be done about it. where did you hear about the dogs begin taken from Medowie? what horrible people.

Of course the BSL law doesn't work if it's not policed........same as speeding and drink driving would be without radar, cameras and RBT's, so what are you prescribing then, because the BSL laws are not policed effectively, may as well drop the law in that case??. The GSD and Rottweiler are renowned and iconic breeds capable of training to attack humans and guard property and the breed especially the GSD is largely represented in the community, collectively the two breeds out number restricted breeds by a county mile, however they rarely feature in serious attacks and given the amount of them out there, there are bound to be morons who own them too, so what's the difference in the fact that most of the serious attacks or deaths are not caused by GSD's & Rottweilers to the extent that they are caused by some Bull come Mastiff variety?? In my experience it's in the genetics of the breed, a reason why professionals in the K9 security business don't use Bull type breeds as their brain power, trainability and potential handler control is vastly limited in comparison.........do you know how much specialised training is required for a GSD, Rottweiler or a Belgian Malinois to do a building search and apprehend an offender??, Ayen's killer did that without training and sadly took down an innocent toddler..........brainless moron of a dog it was, it didn't know the difference between passive and threat in it's unfocused rampage, neither could it stay on target, the dog went from chasing someone else then redirected onto poor little Ayen, the dog was a peice of shit genetically, a crafted piece of excellence configured by a mixture of breeds in a BYB program.....wonderful NOT. If the donkey owner of that dog wanted some K9 protection and deterrent factor in the home and got a proper dog from a proper breeder experienced at configuring correct genetic factors in proper breeds that can defend when "NECESSARY" with a clear head, poor little Ayen's life wouldn't have been wasted like it was IMHO........sure it was the owners fault for allowing the dog to get out, but once out the machinery to kill was in the dog's make up, a fact that too many anti BSL activists choose to ignor. How do you know it was because of its genetic make up and not because of the way it was trained or if it had been abused? So are you saying we should get rid of mastiffs as well?

when is anyone going to discover screaming ''''NEW LAW NEEDED....NEW LAW NEEDED" FINALLY going to realise the only outcome is GUESS WHAT? EVEN MORE 'NEW' UTTERLY STUPID LAWS thanks to the 'new laws ' brigade we already have it you have to build concrete floored multi thousand dollar 'kennel' complexes unless you want to be labled unsanitary. has it occured next it will not only become law you have to keep your litters in concrete sheds instead of your home. how long will it take for the OH&S people to realise, hey, any doggie in a house is a health risk to 'visitors" and that no pets, canine included be banned next? 30 years ago i saw this insanity comming. thats here now.. how long before the next chapter? remember i warned u I was only mentioning laws against breeding because m-sass keeps saying that these dogs shouldn't be bred and I don't see that as being likely unless laws are made to prevent bybs. Not that that is something I think is likely to happen either nor was I calling for it. Unless you are saying that something should be done about the standard in which case, yes I think the law should be changed in regards to that. Because this one isn't helping anyone
