  1. I agree with the downloading every bit on information is annoying, but have to say 200% improvement. I think its hard when know how a site should work and it doesn't especially if you are web designer yourself.
  2. Maybe you should drop Rob a line and maybe its because its still a bit of a work in progress. Our goldie website we have information giving tips on finding the right breeder and we have links to sites such as Say No To Animals in Pet Shops, Prisoners for Profits, Give Pets A Chance. I'm also currently working on a Puppy Farm page as well so whoever comes to our site when looking for puppy can see why it is so important not to buy a dog from a backyard breeder, pet store, puppy farmer etc. I think if possible if more breed clubs could do this the word would spread a bit more.
  3. Fantastic about time. And NO GOOGLE ADS well from what I can see!! But they also need to have more education material up there on tips about finding the right ethical breeder. Lets face it there are a lot of registered breeders who are not doing the right thing. I did express my concerns to Dogs Qld recently wanting them to have more educational material on their website and maybe they should look at paying for banners on sites such as trading posts, and other certain sites (won't mention) where dogs are sold. They need more information on their website educating the public about puppy farmers/pet shops etc. In fact all the State Controlling Bodies need to take this on board. Education I believe is part of the solution in stopping it.
  4. I talked to Andrew this morning from the CCC and said they are hoping there new website will be up at the end of the week so here's hoping and hopefully no bloody google ads
  5. So what puppy are you looking at getting.
  6. I did the same thing about the schedules and they said the same thing, and I think that was more than 2 weeks ago. They did tell me a new site was going to be up on the 15th January, 2010. I have emailed but once again I have heard nothing. I'm afraid like many things they are quick to take our money but not respond to our concerns. I will give them a call to see when the new site is coming up and hopefully there won't be any google ads up there.
  7. Ok I am really concerned that when you go to the Canine control Council of Qld website, it has google ads, yes I know google ads are computer generated but it makes a mockery out of the Organisation when it has google ads that are advertising puppy farms. I for one do not pay my membership for them to advertise puppy farms. I have sent them an email a week or so ago saying don't know if you realised this but you are advertising puppy farms by having google ads. Nothing its still up. I have expressed my concerns as well to such a poor website in this day and age. I am assuming that maybe a new website should will be launched with the new branding campaign of Dogs Qld.
  8. We often eat go out for breakfast in Mitchelton and can't remember when I last went but we had to go to the pet store to look at fish with my 6 year old. And at the time they had kittens there for sale, well I suppose not kittens young cats already desexed. The girl said they were going to be getting dogs that had come from a pound/rescue organisation which I thought was absolutely fantastic. At first I wasn't going to buy anything in the store because they were selling cats but when I found out they were fixed up and where getting dogs in to be adopted/rehomed. I thought it was really good of them.
  9. Well what is church is it can you say what Church it is online. Maybe if we all send letters in to them they might get the message. As you say there are better ways to make money
  10. Seriously what is becoming of this, a bloody church breeding dogs its disgusting, they aren't Christians, I would not call people who exploit animals and a church of all to exploit animals it is disgusting and it should not be allowed. Can anyone find out any more information on this. I just looked up Amish puppy mills its was disgusting and it just breaks my heart it really does.
  11. If its a hot spot Alpha Keri Oil from the chemist being using it for 20 years works fantastic, don't have to use much either
  12. I was extremely luck to nab a second hand hydrobath from the classifieds here. But if I didn't nab the one I did I had my eyes on the Barf Shop ones the twin tank one, my friend has one and she loves it and I thought they were the best value for money, also I think they are bigger (don't quote me on this). I suppose its a personal thing. My second hand bath was a hay you one I think thats whats on it, I think same as the old Conmurra only single tank, but has a heater and its brillant. I was very very lucky.
  13. Alpha Keri Oil - available from the chemist you only need a little bit no need to cut the hair. The scab will lift off the skin. I've been using it for 20 years. But their are a lot of other good remedies dolers use as well
  14. I had one of those canine cooling mats, it was so heavy I hated it and I found my dog didn't like it that much, and I didn't think it was that cool, sold it and then i've bought a Cool Necessities Cooling Mat, heaps lighter and the dogs seem to like it, stays cools for days. I do however put a sheet over the top but they do lie on it. I mainly use it at the shows I think the shells are an excellent idea as well
  15. If you don't mind the hair in the pool. I let my dogs swim in my pool. Some people say the chlorine/salt is not good for their coats but I don't have any problems with mine. My boy loves it
  16. yeh im on northside of Brisbane and they were in my local iga
  17. don't know if anyone has tried these i bought a packet. they are like the Barf patties. I didn't like the smell, but the dogs seemed to like them. Not sure if will buy them again. But thought i would just try them. I found them at my local iga

  20. here it is Poodlefan’s BARF Veggie Mix I based this on Dr B's recipe for veggie patties in GYPWB. Lets see if I can explain it like a cook book does! Ingredients 1 small container of yogurt 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil 2 kg of mixed fruit and veggies (I use some root veggies, some fruit and some green veggies in every mix) 1 kg full fat beef mince 1 large piece of liver or a few kidneys Optional: Any nutritional supplement as per directions eg. Missing Link, Green Pet Method 1. Add yogurt, flax seed oil and supplement to a large container (I use a 20 litre bucket) and blend well 2. Add the mince and mix well . 3. Juice a little of the fruit and veggies. Add some of the juice to a blender and blend the offal until smooth. Resist urge to smell mix – you will regret it. Try not to vomit at result’s appearance and add to main ingredients. 4. Run the rest of the fruit and veggies through the juicer or blender. Add all the pulp to the mix and enough juice to obtain a firm but not sloppy consistency. You should end up with about 30% mince mix and the rest is veggies. 5. Put into storage containers and freeze. I find this mix feeds 5 mini poodles for 5 meals. My mix is evolving over time. I’ve used other additives like Power Blend, Barley Grass Power, Brewers Yeast, Vitamin C – I just change them from time to time. My large dog owning friends do all the stages from 1 to 3 and then freeze the mix, juicing fresh veggies separately to add to it. This cuts down on freezer space and the time taken to make the mix. I add one or two eggs to the thawed mix, blend them through and feed. If you find your dog is not accepting the mix, add a little more fresh mince to their feed and slowly reduce the amount of mince they receive.
  21. No am pretty sure you can get it again, but some people don't think it is a good as previous
  22. Can someone shed some light on these two products are they similar or quiet different. We were thinking of purchasing some Blue Coat Enhancer than a friend mention it seems very similar to Missing Link. Just thought some of you guys might have other information on these products
  23. My friend uses it on her Goldies and she loves the product if that's any help
  24. Alpha Keri Oil, you only need a little on the scab, in a couple of days the scab lifts away from the skin and becomes crumbly. Available from the chemist. Everyone has their own way of treating them, you'll find heaps of good suggestions on here
