It's pretty much B&W but it over-saturates the white - kinda like a glare. You could do it manually but PSP has a 'infrared' option. I really like this!! I like this one more. I think everyone's photos are awesome!!!!! -

Interesting and very effective. What exactly is the picture of? It looks as though you have applied a mirror image? Thanks... It is the side wall of a pub in Sydney. This is the original shot which was mirrored, put through an infrared filter and then darkened down. I'm still learning the whole photography and post-processing thing, so I'm having a bit of fun going all out!! -

Took this today with my crappy Fuji FinepixZ point-and-shoot. After a bit of post processing I am pretty happy with how it turned out! -

Wow, I just asked to join the group and uploaded some photos at the same time and I can't believe the quality of the thumbs when browsing my gallery! It is such an improvement on deviantART, I'm blown away. ETA: And the fullsize photos too, I really can't believe the difference in quality from one site to the next. Yeah there's a pretty big difference, isn't there!!! I love Flickr!! I've asked to join the group, too. -

Welcome to the "new photographers" club!! You sound like me -- I took about 300 photos today in the space of about an hour! I take photos of anything and everything and I usually take a bucketload of photos from different angles. I am still learning, so it's all experimentation for me!! Great photo!!!!!! I LOVE this photo!! What a cute concept! -

The problem is picking WHICH photo to post up when you've taken over 200 photos in a day. This will be part of the challenge for me! -
Aww what a thoughtful, selfless thing to do.

2009 Training/title Wish List
TerraNik replied to Ptolomy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I've had a big think about this one... For Jedi: - To have done ONE complete dumbbell retrieve by the end of the year. That will at least give me hope!! - To have him at CCD/CD level by the end of the year. I don't want to put trialling as a goal, because that's not something I want to rush into with him. - To start agility for fun and see where it takes us! - Keep expanding his trick training repertoire For Ahsoka: - To gain a bucket of points towards her show title - To start taking her obedience work seriously and get her to CD level (don't know when I'll start trialling - again, no rush!) - Try lure coursing and see if she likes it - Start agility towards the end of the year and see where it takes us -
I feed lamb marrow bones and my guys manage to eat the whole bone (takes a few days though!!). Aside from that they get brisket and they get beef tail chopped into pieces. And of course chicken frames, necks and wings and turkey necks.

Advantix is supposed to be water proof, so it should be okay if she is swimming. You should be applying it fortnightly (that's what the packet says anyway!) I have a kees too and so he is on advantix but gets checked over every day for ticks and will be checked over twice a day when we are in a high tick area over christmas. Make sure you check EVERYWHERE (including in ears, around her genital region, between toes and under her front legs). I also bought a tick twister to get a tick off if we do find one and have also located the closest vet to where we will be staying.

We have a 50D too... The only issue we've had is the auto white balance inside our house (halogen lights). Aside from that it's great!
-
I love this one!!!!!!!!! :D
-
Wow, great photos!!!! I have been learning to use my OH's camera for the past week. Before that I had never taken it off 'auto'!!!!!!! I made it my holiday goal to learn how to use the camera properly! Anyway, I just so happened to whip out his 50mm lens this morning... Of course my subjects are always the dogs!

Bones, ice cubes, rope toys, carrots (whole)

I started 'photography' 1 week ago. Sure, I have taken millions of photos in my life, but one week ago I switched my OH's DSLR off 'auto' and began to learn what all the letters and numbers mean. So, I think it's a little early to say that I have a style!!!!! Actually experimentation is probably what you'd call it!!
-
Sounds like a cute pre-school!!! Well done!

I use Drontal. Haven't had a problem with it, so I will keep using it!! Edt - sp

I had a look at that PDF and that's how we taught our two pups. It has worked well!
