  1. I also believe somewhere there in the rules and regulations for Melbourne and / or Adelaide, it states that dogs MUST be on benches and NOT left in crates or trolleys....
  2. I am fairly sure this isn't the first time a dog has been taken from a Royal show. I think that the speed of media and everyones access to fast communication has seen this particular instance be known widely and quickly and that hopefully leads to the return of Harry.
  3. this is terrible and a nightmare for any owner of a pet. Wouldn't it be helpful if the media got it right though? There is a reward of $5000 for the dog, NOT a dog has been stolen that is worth $5000. Someone wanting to get the reward would be more likely to take notice if it stated it as a reward, which it IS, rather than (as usual) the media twisting stories into something that sounds better to the writer of the article. ETA I am referring to the article on Nine MSN.
  4. Great idea to have the show on the asphalt, that would have made it a lot nicer for everyone.
  5. yes, the weather may be better but the flood waters will keep rising. Take care all of those on the road, it's terrible conditions and I wouldn't be out there voluntarily. I don't know how you do it, I love my dog shows but I don't enjoy showing THAT much.
  6. Disappointed all the results from yesterday aren't on the official website ......
  7. Sounds good in theory. In reality, who is going to pull out a letter present it to the judge in the ring to read and then go on to win? (firstly you are presuming the judge will comment - and not just make their own assessment without comment) sounds tricky to me.
  8. Yes, that is the trick finding a place where you can take dogs. As soon as you enter a National Park, dogs aren't allowed.
  9. I don't want to do the drive alone. Anyone here that wants to share the drive/motel/etc with me???. (Melb - Adel on Thurs, show on Fri 3rd, Return trip Adel - Melb on Sat or Sunday - I don't mind which day). Anyone interested? Drop me a line we might be able to organise something.... Well it all worked out for the best, I didn't go.... I was so unwell on the Thursday I couldn't have made the drive anyway. Friday the day we were showing(today) it is tragic weather over there and who knows what Saturday holds - at minimum a very unpleasant if not dangerous driving conditions as you follow the weather across from Adelaide to Melbourne. Drive safely those that have made the trip.
  10. I was going and was planning on sharing with a friend, who isn't going now and I don't want to do the drive alone. I don't think I will go unless someone wants to share the drive/motel/etc with me???. (Melb - Adel on Thurs, show on Fri, Return trip Adel - Melb on Sat or Sunday - I don't mind which day). Anyone interested? Drop me a line....
  11. Don't worry, it is just her biggest coat drop ever - changing her puppy coat over to an adult coat. It does happen quickly and it is shocking if you weren't expecting it. The bonus is that when her coat grows back it will be her adult coat and easier to groom. It happens with all double coated breeds and if you get through this, you will handle the rest of the grooming with no troubles in the future. Good luck, I'm sure she will look much smaller when all that coat is groomed out, but it will grow back to its former glory. And there is no need to clip her.
  12. Where are some good places to go to have a play day? In Victoria? In NSW/ACT?
  13. I know of another Kees that might be interested too when the class gets going....unfortunate that it seems to be off to a slow start. I sent an email to Breed club re their Champ Show, actually thinking of you Keesit. But no response to my email....
  14. Well done Aimee, that's a big brag! Looking good a great photo. Congratulations on so much success.
  15. It was one of the best Lillydale shows I have been to - work has obviously been done to make sure there was room for everyone and the committee have worked to improve things that could have been better in the past. There were lots of other extra touches too. Thank you to the committee for their show. The Toy Poodle was handled by Jenny McKenzie. Junior in Group was Hansen's black Miniature Poodle Puppy in Group was my Kees, Nynka Chant My Name. There were 5 other Kees puppies, so puppy in breed was a good start
  16. Runner up in Show was the Rhodesian Ridgeback Handled by Leigh McVilly Best in show was Pug, Ester Joseph.
  17. is there any further news on the flooding down there? wondering about the shows tomorrow....
  18. That is fantastic, well done!
  19. STAND and Stay is a much more useful lesson than sit and Stay. I don't teach my dogs sit until they are about 3! I show with bait for treats and don't want them jumping into a sit the minute they see the treats. They have to stand for every reward.... Good luck to all ;)
  20. Yeahy Bindi and Fletcher!! so happy for you and your success, what a great win! xx
  21. So, that would mean we would have to pay a vet to certify that our mated and non pregnant bitch (wasn't pregnant) before we attended a show. Crazy.
  22. A scenario.....you breed your bitch and don't think it has taken. Enter her and show her. 10 days before due date she looks a little pregnant even though you and others didn't think she was until then. She has 2 puppies. You have shown her and broken the rules. What happens then? This policing sounds a bit over the top to me...
