  1. it's lovely that they appreciated the win too
  2. Tambaqai, I'm sure you will enjoy your trolley for many years. The ones on ebay are generally the cheap, cheap, cheapest copy available - no resemblance to the Australian made ones, except for (maybe) in photographs. If you saw one beside the good quality ones you would never think it was a bargain at all.
  3. Congratulations Liz, that's a great achievement! 16 points is a good sized challenge. When you have larger breed numbers the points are harder to get, but the bonus is that when you win, you win more points. I had many reserves with my first show dog and they were definitely encouragement for me to keep going. And we did, onto be a successful show dog. Now you know she can do it, your confidence will grow from there.
  4. Interesting that not only did the judge breed the Schipp but she also leased the bitch back and had a litter from her last September. Well done Capanash and the lovely Freya Why did the person showing the dog even enter the ring? Things like this make people cynical about the whole process of dog showing - and quite rightly so.
  5. I think 188 is a great entry! When talking about wanting a specialist judge, what do you mean? A judge that is a person who shows in our NS group? I've seen endless people who show a breed and have a licence being called breed specialists, some I sit in wonderment about what exactly makes the owners of the results claim the judge particularly as specialist sometimes...... I guess there are as many things that would/could make you say someone is a specialist as a group judge.
  6. Umm, what? Lucky you came here ( to the right place to get the informed facts ) OOOO Hope you enjoy the return to the show ring.
  7. I would bandage that one. Worth a try given you have tried it without bandage and it didn't work that well. Good luck.
  8. Still thinking of you Jed, I can't add much apart from that. You are a hero.
  9. It has just caught my eye in the Scale of Charges in the latest Dogs Vic journal that they have charges of Declined Credit Card $10 Declined Cheques (including Bank Fees) $34 Given that there is in process, nationally, a class action against the banks for penalty fees for similar instances (basically stating the premise that they should only charge for what it costs them when this occurs) do you think these charges are fair? A declined credit card - what does that really mean to any workplace? A phone call to the card owner to rectify the situation. A declined cheque is a bit more work, but bank fees are not always redirected to the cheque payee. In some instances (again) a phone call would be the only action. To me they seem very high charges and harsh for something that to me is part and parcel of basic administration of any organisation.
  10. Interesting to note VICTORIAN Sammies win NEARLY every award! Congrats Kell on the double, fantastic, but also a strong showing by all the Vic exhibitors!
  11. Wow, what a great result for the Dallies! Congratulations !
  12. yes, I have always used direct transfer to bank account also, using swift etc. I think just on this occasion you had some shonky expenses and should follow that up with your bank....
  13. don't forget paypal has it's own commission fees according to $ amount too, so may end up more expensive than bank fees. Transferring a large sum of money internationally does cost a bit in itself.
  14. I'd lay bets that it is inside, it is winter and every June Ch. show I have been to for this club has been inside.
  15. So wonderful to see you back Jed, you are an inspiration and a hero. Deepest sympathies for your loss and prayers for your healing in every way.
  16. Pssssst, don't forget the pockets I hate putting food in my pockets, it wrecks my good clothes. I much prefer a bait pouch.
  17. you just never know until you give it a go.
  18. That's most definitely bragworthy! Well done. I love how when you see a dog working, often the action of the dog is the same as its prey. I esp like the photo where the eagle/hawk got to the rabbit at the same time.
  19. It was a great day to be at home ! Loved it
  20. After a bad experience with worming, I don't worm my pups now until they are weaned. Just to be safe. If a pup gets sick from worming, it's a long road back and if not weaned they have to be tube fed. They can we wormed well enough at 4 weeks and onwards. I use Drontol Liquid, until they are old enough to have the tablets.
  21. This example shows how there are just as many winners in our subjective sport, as there are opinions. We all have different things about certain dogs that appeal, but the things that are appealing to you in this dog are features of another breed, but not of a correct Dobermann. I read the standard you included here. I think you only read the bits that fitted what you wanted to see. I read elegant and ribbing to the elbow, square according to specific measurements. What is see in that photo is most definitely NOT elegant, ribbing dropped way beyond the elbow and an overloaded and disproportionate body. I dont think winning 4 BOBs is proof of excellence, unless you also quantify the amount of dogs defeated in those wins.
  22. Hi Bisart, A little off topic, but (generally) I didn't think you could compete in sweeps if you didnt compete in the other parts of the same show?
  23. I'd like to hear how they ran the sweepstakes - how many dogs went through from each group? The prizes were 1 - 10th, with cash for the first 5 placings, what was the value of the prizes? I heard that the Dachie ST L was BIS
