I just asked this in the xmas present thread but thought I would ask here too, what are the everlasting treat balls like and where is the cheapest place in OZ to get them, can't find any pries to compare with clean run. I have also enabled another friend today too, she always says where do you come up with all these ideas. DOL of course!!

Has anyone tried their dogs with the everlasting treat balls? what are they like and any idea where is the cheapest place to get them in OZ? I have googled and I use don't think I can justify 4 at the prices they are here, Just wish we could get them through clear run they are sooo much cheaper.

It's not hard to get into, and it is just win win for everyone involved, such a great program. Hope some others pop in to share their stories. There is some sadness at times obviously in aged care and when people are really sick and that is a bit hard to cope with at times, I recently lost my step dad so I had a few weeks off, just didn't feel like being around the hospital for a bit. My friend recently lost her Delta dog (my youngest brother) and the residents of her facility were heart broken. They just look forward to their visits each week and they get really attached to the dogs. With the hospital its not so much because the patients come and go so each facility is different.

We were lucky enough to get a new hospital this year, these were taken today, its not quite finished yet but we get to visit the nice new area which is great. Last shot of the Prinny, she knows where she is going. And lastly a link to last years festivities at xmas time, the dogs had a great day and all the patients loved seeing them in their Christmas attire. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150107376506844.307421.609066843&type=1&l=1110c915b8

Well it is nearly 12 months on now so I thought I'd pop a post up of the progress my girls have made through the year, They have been loving the visits they do at our local hospital, the program has been well received and everyone just loves having the dogs at the hospital, staff as well as the patients. Tully is just absolutely made for therapy work, from the minute we walk int he place she is just brilliant, she knows exactly what to do, I wouldn't even know I have her at the other end of the leash, she is gentle with patients, she does tricks for the kids that want tricks and sits quietly for the ones that are too sick for tricks, she has some kind of built in radar that lets her know how to behave around each patient, she seems to know what each of them need which is great, she is a joy to take and she loves every minute of it. Now miss Lacy (aka the Princess) she thinks that everyone in the hospital is there souly for her enjoyment and entertainment and to love her unconditionally, she is really quite funny, totally different to Tully and loves everyone to the fullest. I go to to the park first for them to do their business before we go and she jumps out of the car does what she has to do and runs back to the car, she certainly knows where we are going. She cries in the car if I don't get a park right away and have to drive around the block and then goes at break neck speed to get in the door. I have to be a bit more on my game with Lacy, she is a licker so she knows no lick but needs reminding occasionally and she needs to be reminded where she is, she is the same with every patient. I must say I love taking both of them but I enjoy it more with Tully as she just "knows" why she is there and exactly what to do. I have a few photos to post and hope that if anyone else had Delta news, new recruits etc they will pop in here and give us an update. The original thread is here if anyone wants to have a read. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/201052-lacy-and-tully-and-thier-quest-to-become-delta-dogs/page__p__4687168__fromsearch__1#entry4687168 Earlier in the year we got to meet Bob the Builder at the Bunnings Volunteer day Here with Shannon and Mawson (Shannon is DOLer Mawson) Maws with his doggles on Love this shot of Tully and one of the patients, she loved seeing the dogs each week and they loved her too. Maws too big to get on the bed.

Maybe Cuz coating is like some kind of drug They certainly are a hit, I can't even remember where the first one of ours came from but I knew after it I had to find more!

How funny, my two cuz lovers are very similar, although here we have cuz time, I have to let them play with them then when I have had enough of squeaking and running through the house they go away. seems awful to take them away but I really believe if I didn't they would be cuzing it 24 hours a day. Its funny if I give the only one, they share and chase each other around and play swap the cuz and make a game of it. I got a couple of bigger ones last year but they are not as popular as the smaller ones and I still have original bad cuz, still with horns but no feet.

Same here Gayle, my ball mad girl loves them and so does my youngest. No one in town stocks them, Last year I got some from A shop in Gisborne (DOLer Sagittarian shop) 4paws. I just ordered some with my clean run order, great prices and a good variety too.

Awww Gayle, what a lovely tribute to your boy and a great surprise, I can see why it had you in tears, me too and I don't even know you guys. It looks like the best dog park around!! Love the rules.

Those socks would be great for our tracking days, I have waterproof hiking boots but occasionally the water might seep in, especially in the long grass.

Perhaps Im doing it wrong will have another go.

Just a quick question, if you pop something in your cart or on your wish list do you then have to say in the comment box what colour you want. For example I wanted to get 4 of the medium sized Bella bowls, and one of each colour (there is 4 colours) but each one I add to the wish list doesn't seem to work, it is always just one so I changed the amount to 4 and said in the comment box one of each colour. Would that be ok? I don't really want to email them as it will take them away from packing all the DOL orders,

I wondered about the treats, they are such a good price. Ok no treats for us, that sucks Megan!
-
Thanks, I've just had a look and everything is so much cheaper, think I will put in an order and fingers crossed it comes before Xmas. Just had a read through the other thread, some DOLers should get commission.
-
How long do clear run take for delivery? Would it be too late not to order and expect it to get here by Xmas?
-
If anyone has any good links to add that would be great. I've set myself a limit of $50 per dog but have no clue what to buy, they have everything. this thread is great timing!!
-
Fab shots, how col is that 50mm lense, I love mine and use it most of the time, very versatile! I bought a new lense a while back cost me over $800 not hugely exxy for a lense but I got my 50mm around the same time and guess what I reckon the 50mm has been off the camera about 3 times.

So glad she is home, great news.

Anyone going to the Noorat show?

if they are anything like Cooper who is fish mad, stuck his head in a fishermans bucket one day and tried to steal a fish. Luckily he didn't get any cause I yelled and gave him a fright, also lucky for us the fisherman seen the funny side. I've really made CJ sound like a naughty boy, he did have his moments in his earlier years, thankfully most of his antics we could laugh at. He really is a well mannered beautiful boy these days!

See now that's common sense, there is still some of it about. We were at the friendlys one day and a man was riding a horse other side of the fence and I didn't bother putting the dogs on their leads, the girls had a bit of a bark and I called them in and kept on walking and the guy yelled out to me we're they not familiar with horses, I said they hadn't been around horse sand he said bring em over, it was great as the fence was in between, the horse was so quiet and when we got to the fence the dogs just stood there looking in awe. and really there was nothing to bark about the horse was calm so the dogs were too. It's good if we are at Albert park and there are horses now, if mine are on lead they don't even react, not game to try them off, I think the younger 3 would be ok, but. It's willing to try CJ. He really wants to make a game of the chase! I must say though his recall now compared to say 2 years ago is fantastic, another horse snuck up on us (not on purpose) but I just never seen it till. It was on top of us, the dogs were all lying under the shade of a tree, we all seen it at the same time, none of them moved, I just stood with baited breath thinking is he just going to ride by and they are going to just sit there??? Arghhh no such luck, CJ jumps up and starts to run towards the horse, and with that I just ran the other way and called him and he spun strait around and came to me, phewwww the guy on the horse yells out well done. I'd say hes been chased a few times in the past. Sometimes I'm not sure if there is more or less common sense, but I have a saying that common sense is really not that common. I believe that even more now that I work in retail.

Wow that would have been a long walk. There certainly are a lot that spoil it for the rest of us. I'm so particular with the horse riders, all mine go on leash, my younger ones wouldn't chase but Cooper would and did once at Albert park, the rider crept up behind us, we had no idea he was there and Cooper ( puppy at the time) got a fright and chased him and the horse rider went berserk and the horse rared up and the rider nearly fell off. He was from the race course on a race horse, he screamed at me that I was not allowed there (off leash dog park/pony club) and just generally abused me, but seems he was in the wrong also as racehorses are not allowed to run at Albert park, that's what they have a whole race course for! I rang the council to see what the go was. Anyway as a result, I am paranoid if we are somewhere there are horses, I usually avoid but if it is unavoidable all on leash, I leave nothing to chance!

My friend goes along the road to pt fairy a bit further and apparently there is a great stretch of beach there somewhere near the golf course and she said it is always deserted, I haven't been there but it sounds great. The other day when we were east of the main beach there was a lady with a massive big boxer and I seen her in the distance so I popped Cooper on the lead (he doesn't rush other dogs but likes to say hello but I don't like him to unless it is an area where I know the other dogs) he likes to say hello. The other 3 don't go up to dogs they don't know. Anyway we were walking by this lady with big dog and we kind of skirted around her as she looked like she was having trouble holding him, he wasn't aggressive but just wanted to be a typical bouncy boxer and come and say hi, which my lot don't really like especially my girls, anyway on closer inspection this woman did not even have a lead for said dog, she just had a hold of it by the collar and it was nearly pulling her over to get away from her. So we hurried past and she let the dog go and guess what up it came at 100 miles an hour, I know my guys are ok but I didn't know this other dog so we walked a bit faster I shooed it away and the owner called it back and all was good, it was no big deal but geez no lead how stupid are people these days, we do the right thing and so many idiots out there!! On another note, I scooted past the new dog wash today (still not open) but it looks like it is another tru blu wash, so it will be the same as out caramut road.
