Computer Inhanced Photos Are They Really A Photo?
tlc replied to pesh's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
If you shoot in raw format you have to develop (process) the photo anyway. Some editing can be described more as art rather than photography. I guess it is all personal taste really. I shoot in raw and develop every photo individually or batch edit if the photos are similar so they all have the same look/feel. Depends on what I am shooting. I use lightroom to develop my photos, is a really good basic video of how it works and what it can do for your images. -
Awe Pretty!!

Thanks Hankdog, the base is 21 tonne of metal with expandable axels, it was quite amazing to see how it worked. It is also drivable. When I was up there the driver drove a couple of foot to the front that was enough for me.

Now that is how I would love to shoot Street! Great article. Wish I lived in a big bright city! I'd have a ball. Here our streets are dim and people not all friendly. All my shots were from the hip apart from the alleys. I always worry someone will get annoyed at having a camera pointed at them. The article is so right, it's all about the moment, the expression, timing plays a big part. I think some of the article in asking to take the persons photo is more portraiture than street as the person is ready and posing for the picture. I've never heard of Digital Grin. Thanks heaps PC. Thanks Cody.

I think we have summed it up perfectly!

Thats a great article. It sums it up perfectly. I think we can leave both threads, I guess it's open to each individual to decide which thread a certain photo goes in. There hasn't been a lot of traffic in here (photo section) lately anyway. It seems to go in spits and spats. Edited to add with street photography I think it is either something you really like or something your not bothered about.

For me, Photojournalism tells a story pretty much as soon as you see the photo. There is Photojournalism, then there is photojournalism style of photography. Have a look at Huga Photography, she does PJ Style very well. Street is more random, I like street photography that invokes some kind of emotion, not necessarily telling a story but you get a feeling when you look at the picture. Hope that makes sense. Thats my take on it anyway. Hope others might add their points of view too. I was looking of for the PJ thread for you to have a look at but will have to dig a little deeper!

Yea I thought about the PJ thread, I guess I could have popped these in there. To me PJ and Street are two different things.

A few colour ones. Some little Alleys around town.

A couple of shots from today. I got a few of this guy, I just found him the most interesting.

Hi guys, I know there has been interest in street photography in here in the past, do we have a thread? If we don't id like to start one. If we do I can't find it so perhaps it is old? I went out today to run a few errands and just thought I would take my camera and snap off a few shots. It is very intimidating and I always think someone will abuse me for taking their photo.

Here I am, I really despise photos of myself, but this one is kind of funny!

Thanks guys, I think I will enjoy it better next time as I will know what to expect. The other girl in the bucket took a pic of me, not a very flattering shot but you can tell I am haing on tight. I'll grab it and pop it in here so you can see what I mean.

Not sure what week we are up to I have lost count. I have had two week holiday and this was the treat giving before I went back to work on Monday, they usually look sad to see me go, I think they might be glad to have a rest for the arvo.

Thanks Pesh, I really enjoyed it. but if we do it again, I will know what to expect. You don't know heights till you up in that little tiny basket looking down! Thank god we had harnesses on, I clipped mine on myself as soon as I got in. So I knew it was clipped on properly! I really enjoyed taking the pictures on the ground more I think. we had a few others 5 to go up all together and the driver so we did it in lots. Everyone was excited so it was good to capture those moments. People and animals are more my thing rather than scenery and I haven't done a lot of it, but nice to capture something different!

Last lot, there were so many I liked it is hard to pick a few. I used two cameras so I had a good assortment of shots. Full set HERE and the ones from the other camera (none posted here) are HERE

Hi Guys, last night I had the opportunity to go up in a boom lift that goes to the height of 135 ft to take photos. It was a pretty amazing experience. I am not afraid of heights but I really decided once I was up there I couldnt let go of the railing. So my pictures on the ground I thought were better than the ones up high. In the air. Driver in the middle and the other passenger

Wow you do see some amazing stuff down there!

Wonder why they had a 4 month old pup in the facility to begin with. You would think elderly people and a puppy not a good combination. My girls are accredited with the Delta society and we visit the hospital and have to have 3 monthly health screening and pathology testing to make sure they have no nasty bugs. This is only done for hospital visiting dogs not nursing home. Perhaps the rules may change after something like this. If the dogs test positive for anything nasty they are excluded from the program for 3 months and then have to have a clear tests before they can return to visiting again. It is amazing what the dogs can have and not show any signs. One of my girls has tested positive for Giardia and that ran into salmonella so she was out of action for a while but it cleared up with no medical intervention and she had no symptoms. The vet said quite often dogs will carry these bugs and us humans have no idea. Some can be transferred some not.
