I know I really know it shouldn't, I just want to make the right decision. I think at the end of the day either which one I choose will be ok as they are both awesome cameras. I've downloaded some books for both and aim going to have a read of both, I'm not in a hurry at the moment so I'm hoping I will get a sign if some sort. I'm leaning towards the canon at the moment but who knows I will probly change my mind. I'm certainly having fun researching and at least I've narrowed it down to two. And my budget for the time being is set for $2000. Are you between flights now? When do you get to Bonaire? I'm so excited for your photos!

I had a friend once who had minis and she used to take them into town to visit, kind of like walking the dogs, they just went everywhere they were able with her, even inside the house. do you have any plans for him? I mean like a job or something? The is a lady around our area and she has one, her name is party girl and she visits the nursing home, and loves it and so do the residents.

Omg so cute, is he a miniature pony? How big will he grow? You big chestnut coloured horse has the same coat as my doggies.

Annie so sorry to hear about your boy, even though we know it's coming it still hits us hard when it does. RIP beautiful Cowboy, I'll miss seeing your smiley face in the photo threads. Big hugs to you from me and the gang.

Rozzie you writing so small I almost missed your post! Have you had your long? Any pics you wanna post? Snook, I looked at the pana when I got my Samsung, I really liked it but went with the Sammy cause it had the bigger sensor. The pana has a heap more lenses available which is great.

My decision now is between the 7D and the D7000. I was like your friend and the mirrorless cameras are really great and take some amazing shots especially the ones with the APS-c sensors like the Samsung had in it. And the size is perfect and I will probly get a lot of use out of my G1X. But I just think you cant beat an SLR for Everythng really, speed, better in low light, more lenses = more options for different occasions. The list goes on. Do you mind if I ask what brand your friend got? It's interesting reading some of the photographers blogs with a lot of them adding CSCs to their kits for that grab and snap occasion. Probly I'm just greedy and want the best of both worlds! Your right about the D700 it's no longer in production. The replacment iis the D800.

Funny how soon you forget something, I went back through my topics to find my older one and HERE it is, not that I expect you guys to read all 4 pages but it was interesting how over time you change your mind so much. Huga do you have the D700 now or did I dream that, in the old thread you made a comment about that. I think I am going to have to hold off for a bit as I just can't make up my mind, I just don't know why I am being so fickle usually I just say thats what I want and when you consider that old thread is Nov 2010 thats a long time to be stuffing around trying to decided! One thing I did say in the old thread was I was going to keep my Nikon which I didn't its gone so what ever I decide it won't matter as all the nikon lenses are gone!

Funnily enough the Samsung I had problems with was store stock, it was in the display case and they assured me all would be ok. The problem may or may not have arisen because of that but you just never know. I'll never buy a camera thats been on display again that's for sure! Really hoping my G1X comes today or tomorrow so I've got something decent to play with over the weekend. Had a good read up on the 7d last night, I'd forgotten a lot of what I had read previously, it sounds awesome. I'm still in two minds about which one but I've definatley decided I don't need the D700/800. Decisions decisions.........

Yea your right, I'm probly over thinking the whole thing! but after having trouble with my samsung and all the drama to get a resolution I'm a bit wary. Having said that, the Nikon I already had I never had a minutes trouble with it. And I think in the photo section here there was someone I'm sure it was Huga did have a problem and it may have even been with the same model as me. Like the saying goes nothing in life is perfect!

MTS, it really doesn't have to be that hard!

The 7D is comparable to the D7000 HERE is a comparison to give you an idea. I think the response is what I expected, not much more they can say really. Like everything I guess there is good and bad. I really wanna be sure after just going through 5 months with a dodgy camera!

Just got the reply back from Nikon, this is what they said. Barb, Thanks for your enquiry. You need to keep forum comments in perspective. If we sell 500,000 units worldwide, and 1% have a problem, then 10% of those are complained about, that is 500 complaints. Some of it is user error, some is normal production variations. Buy your D7000, if you are not happy with the results send it in to ensure it is working to specification, that will only cost you inwards freight as long as it is purchased from an authorised dealer and is during the warranty period. Thanks for the input, the link has a lot of great pictures, all look so spectacular! I've sent an email to Nikon to see what they have to say specifically about the focus issues with the D7000, I hope they reply.

MTS, I think you have said in the past that Missy is not to keen on dry? How much time have you given her to let her get used to it. I wouldn't say mine are Absolutley extatic about eating dry everyday, but in realistic terms they get what they need from it and it has proved to be good for them, like I said a few times a week they get some RMB/chicken wings. One of my girls try's me out every night, looks at her bowl of food then comes and sits by my feet waiting for an alternative which she does not get, she is kind of like a kid who would prefer to eat maccas every night rather than a home cooked meal. so if she doesn't eat, her food goes up and an hour later she gets it again it's then she usually eats the whole bowl. I think saying a dog doesn't like something is a bit of a cop out, I hate Veges but I still eat them as I know I need them for healthy teeth, skin, hair, body etc. Don't get me wrong, I've been known to say "my dog doesn't like that" as I had a world of trouble with Cooper as a younger dog, turns out in my feeding him raw he just did not tolerate it and preferred dry and even now he prefers his dry meal to bones, he still eats the bones but prefers dry. Hope that makes sense. You've been given a lot of advice here, hopefully you will take it on board, perhaps you could go to a fully super premium holistic food like Earthborn and feed only that for a while and see how she goes. It will be costly if you feed all your dogs on it as it is not a cheap food. I have found the BH to be excellent both in quality and price and performance wise my dogs are a picture of health both in body, energy wise, muscle tone good and great coats. Can't fault it really and also I'm very lucky all of mine are doing well on it and I don't have to buy different foods. How is Missy today any more vomiting? Any more progress with getting your sisters dog to the vet?

Geez have I killed this thread? no ones been here in a week! Tanya, how are you enjoying your Maternity leave? Are you all organized for bubs to arrive? Do you know what your having? How's everyone else? Tenties, I've given you a couple of toots in the last couple of weeks going by your house. I've spent a lot of time on the road latley! Thanks for the replies, can you guys with the 7D tell me what you love about it so much? I've done a lot of reading about the D7000 and found so much negative stuff, lots of good stuff too but heaps with focus issues. Here is a few things I've read http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1709020 http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1034&message=38686686 http://forums.popphoto.com/showthread.php?623415-Autofocus-Problem-with-Nikon-D7000 http://nikonites.com/d7000/2068-d7000-focus-issues.html http://www.flickr.com/groups/nikon_d7000_users/discuss/72157625374284098/ There is 100's of threads the same on lots of different sights, most of them are 2010/2011 so I'm hoping there is some reasonable explanation as Im assuming since the camera is in production that there's problems are not valid any more. I suppose there's lots of negative stuff about most cameras but there just seems to be a lot with this particular model. I'm hoping they have sice fixed and issues with it.
