  1. You really can't beat an SLR, are you set on Canon, I'm soon to be buying a new one, upgrading. I considered the 7D but coming from a Nikon decided to go Nikon again. I'm looking at the D7000. My recent thread HERE if you wanna check it out.
  2. I don't mean to sound harsh but I think your over thinking and over doing the feeding, It sounds like you want to do the right thing by your dogs and I know getting their diet right with more than one dog can prove difficult. How old is Missy now? If she has only been on the black hawk for a short time with added mince and RMBs, it could have been too much protein, you may have been better eliminating the mince and trying just the kibble. Black Hawk can be a meal in itself, however my lot get chicken/necks/wings/bones a couple of times a week but the kibble is their main diet and they don't get a lot of it. Black hawks new variety will be chicken and rice, perhaps Missy will like that better. What ever you feed her, she needs time to adjust to the new food. And given enough time to prove beneficial or not. Earthborn is a super premium food with a few different varietys that may suit Missy if she doesn't like the fish one. I'm pretty sure Earthborn has a few grain free varieties too. I think you need to go back to basics and not overthink the whole food dilemma! Edited to add, my lot (all four of them) have no farting problems at all with black hawk but they do with lamb bones. I still feed the occasional lamb bone and put up with the wind.
  3. Thanks so much, great shots, love love love the selfies, they are fantastic!!
  4. It's funny you say that Greg, I always notice at any event, most of the pros have Canon.
  5. Well I just had a call from Harvey Norman this morning and they are giving me a credit, so while I decide which DSLR to get they are ordering me a Canon G1X, I have felt like i am missing an arm with out a decent camera, its no SLR but it will be sufficient in the interim. I can't wait! I was thinking to myself this morning, I should not have sold my D80 then I thought well thats stupid i really wanted to upgrade anyway so its all good!
  6. Keep an eye on her over night and hopefully by tomorrow she will be back to her normal self. Has she been around your sisters dog recently? Is it possible she has got her bug?
  7. Could she be just tired after training? Is she showing any other signs of discomfort? Has she toileted normally today? Anything ese out f the ordinary? How was she at training?
  8. Hope they come home soon, I have friends in Gisbourne and Bacchus Marsh I'll pass it on.
  9. You fed her before obedience? Is this something you usually do? Did she run around a lot? She may have been over excited with other dogs around, there is a myriad of reasons she could have been sick. Mine never get fed before excersise of any kind especially obedience or training of any kind. A cup of that many different food mixed together seems a lot, has she had this diet for long? Perhaps she is not quite used to it yet and taking her to obedience on a full tummy may not have been the best idea.
  10. Certainly no focus issues there! and the colours are great, have you edited this shot at all? Could you pop a couple more up if its not too much trouble?
  11. J&Ds Mum, yes thats CJ with the big sad eyes, He gets a lot of comments on his eyes! Love your shots, especially 2 and 3 Kissy and silly, so cute!!
  12. I only just seen this, glad you figured out what the problem was. I've been doing a lot of reading about the D7000 and there is so many threads on whirlpool and dpreview about focusing issues, mostly after the camera was first released. I'm hoping now they have ironed the bugs out. You haven't had yours for very long have you? What lenses do you have and can you tell me is your remote a cord free one? Sorry so many questions, still trying to decide if this camera is for me.
  13. Thanks or the info, the BB certainly looks like a really easy cheaper option, especially if I want to get hot water tap outside.
  14. I just had a look at 50mm 1.4 at teds for price idea and they are around $600 so I had a look on eBay and found THIS Is it too good a price to be true?
  15. I think more education but unfortunately some people just don't like to be educated!! Being around dogs a lot you see so many people do the stupidest things and it makes me wonder why there isn't a lot more attacks on people and other dogs. Some people are idiots plain and simple!! Has something happened? I hope you and your lot are ok?
  16. I just asked my OH about the bath idea, he said great idea but he wouldn't do it incase we ever decide to sell the house he said who's going to want a bath that high up. I didn't even give that a thought!
  17. Thanks so much for posting the pictures, what a great set up, The booster certainly looks like it does the job just fine! My oldest boy is my biggest and he is only 18 kilos so the size of the BB would be fine. The other bath set up is awesome and had I have had my dogs before we built our house, I would have definatley got something like this made, I might even be tempted to find out how much it would cost to get our existing bath (or swap for a smaller lighter one) raised up just like yours is, might be a heck of a lot cheaper than starting with a whole new set up. We only ever use the bath for the dogs anyway so it would be no loss. We have another bath (spa) in our ensuite if we need a bath. Its looking like we may not be able to do anything till around October now so I have plenty of time to decide what I am going to do. Thanks again so much, lots of food for thought!
  18. Crash away Kristin, I really appreciate you popping in, I actually thought my title may have been a little bit too exclusive, think I will change it! Earlier on I had a little compact canon, one of the ixus range (not a cheap one) and it was the best compact camera ever till it died and went to heaven. I was very hard on that little beast and it withstood a lot! I replaced it with a compact Nikon and boy was I sorry about that, worst compact I have ever had, not even as god as my very first fuji finepix (2mp) I really love both Nikon and Canon and It was a hard decision originally when I got my first DSLR, it came down to how each one felt in my hand in the end, I just couldn't decide. I liked the way the nikon felt to hold and the way the controls were set out.
  19. Thanks MM, I loved my 50mm on my D80 so I am sure that is one I will go with! Im looking forward to having a read of the book I got about the D7000.
  20. Thanks so much for the info, do you do any professional shoots or personal use only? I think I am closer to making up my mind now and getting just a little bit excited!
  21. Thanks so much for popping in, that's good to know there is a big difference from the D80 to the D7000, tell me about the tricky focus bit, does it have auto focus? I have just downloaded a couple of books about it so will have a read tonight. What did your parents get? same one?
  22. Thanks Kristin, I appreciate your input. I think you are right and this is what I need to hear to steer me in the right direction also your not the first one to say that. Is the 50mm a good choice for a prime lens or would there be a better one that would suit a more wider variety of subjects, some action and portrait shots? Your right Snook and when I get to a bigger town with bigger variety I will do, not much here, our local HN does not have either instore.
