  1. No passes for us in T&S today but was happy with what they did. Both dogs had one major off course causing a fall but their starts were great ..including one in the junior soccer car park, complete with moving vehicles and kids ..and both did some lovely work..except for her off course, Kirra motored through her urban test ..dog on a mission, and Rory did super article ..indication.
  2. @ kallistar .... :-) sadly, because of ANKC riles about breed Nationsls, everything is only for ANKC registered BCs ....sorry Splash. @ Ptolomy ...love those rushes of blood to the .head. But hey you still have a couple of weeks . ;-)
  3. LOL paddles ..wrong state for me ... but just wanted to say good luck.. .. remember to breathe, and remember, it's only a game, and you're going to take home the best dogs ;-).
  4. You girls are just a super team..and you have do much fun together, as well as success. :-)
  5. Lol kallistar. Back burner for mine at the moment ... but ticking over. There's a DWD comp at the BC National in Melbourne in March .. so that gives me a target..who knows if I'll meet it. :-) In the meantime we're busy with agility , rally, track and search, and a bit of conformation showing for Rory. Good luck to everyone at the Royal. Bet it'll be a crowd pleaser.
  6. Woohoo! Nice season for you and the dogs, RubyBlue. Don't be anxious about T & S - my guys think it's huge fun.
  7. My guys must be more gentle. :D And we do tend to rotate tugs a bit.
  8. Will try and get a pic tonight. TSD - it's tough enough in the attachments, but the fur pieces themselves are very suckable, ROry says - so they're not going to look good for long. Has r tug pieces coming off a bungee circle - 2 fluff, the toher a linen food pouch. Found it - This is it. For tough with fluff - I'd go for one of these braided tugs Ram tuff or Bunny fluff Not that I'm enabling or anything
  9. LOL ... we get quite a variety. If we're lucky we get a nice hide, in the sun, out of the wind ... sometimes with s view of passing traffic, like I had the other week. Other times it's freezing cold, lying on the ground wrapped in a groundsheet. Our terrain is often such that it's not feasible for the tracklayer to get out ....either not safe for vehicles..or we'd waste too much ground having the TL walk out. Track & Search we tend to be able to get the tracklayer out and put them in again.
  10. That's exciting, poocow. Our dogs are amazing, aren't they. My parcel arrived today :D . The tug toys look great - and the rain jacket is really nice. The dogs watched me intently while I was getting stuff out of the box - Kirra is disgusted because there was no food ... but Rory's eyes opened wide when he saw the tugtastic bungee tug toy with the fur braided in - he started tugging on it pretty much straight away, and then tugged me across the room to 'his' sofa where he parked himself and the toy next to his toy stash - and then started sucking on the fur . Thank you DOL enablers -
  11. That really is a great set of results dezzyno1. I know what you mean about being a bit sad at the end of paddock tracking. Track & Search trial for us this weekend - Kirra on her 5 - urban track - which she finds very exciting - and of course wants to do at warp sepeed  , and the Rory man on his 1. The the last T & S trial for the year a couple of weeks later. Good in a way - can concentrate on a busy month of agility (and conformation for Rory) in October, and then rally and obedience and agility in November, and obedience December. What fun. How lucky we are to be able to play such fun games with our dogs.
  12. Since he's getting the idea, I would now try just closing your hand over the treat, if he snatches, rather than moving it away. the problem with moving it away is that the movement itsef can sometimes stimulate the dog to snatch - depends how fast you move it of course. I do the finger/thumb with the rest of the hand cupped thing - and kind of post the treat into the dog's mouth. Both my BCs are gentle taking treats - but slightly less so grabbing tugs. My bad for not doing enough targeting - with my feral agility girl, I tend to use a longer tug. The boy is a bit more careful
  13. that's a shame about the health problems. But as you say, she'll still have fun - and there's lots you'll be able to teach her. Sounds like a good school - and would be fun for the instructor's daughter to help. One thing that you might not know about - but might find useful - is a target stick. Training with a target stick One example of a target stick Oh, bless Renae and her hot/warm chips. ETF typo - as usual :)
  14. Oh my goodness, she's growing up totally gorgeous - and as you say, seems very confident - bot bothered when the wave came in. And yes - she looks like the sort of pup who will love dog school - and Cavs are very versatile - I know Cavs who are stunning obedience dogs, agility dogs, and tracking dogs - not to forget dances with dogs :) What a good idea for you all to go to the beach - I hope Renae enjoyed herself too. And the whale would have been a real bonus. Thanks for sharing. :)
  15. Oh, I bet Moo will love that - the harness and the Nosework :D
  16. My parcel has arrived at my local post office this morning - should be able to get it this afternoon - wheee! Which harness did you order, poocow?
  17. Awesome single stepping Zig man - and love the head down intensity - weaving to die for
  18. Gentle , Jules. It's hard enough when they leave us, but harder when we feel as though they've left before their time. Treasure the memories, and let the other fur kids comfort you.
  19. That all sounds very encouraging. As far as position, and straight sits, etc. go .. it might be worth having a look at platform training - there should be some stuff on the net. Works on the principle of the dog developing muscle memory for what is straight - if any bit of him is off the platform, he's not straight, so he learns to correct himself to get the reward. It's easier to teach correct position stationary at first, rather than moving IMHO.
  20. Yay! Congrats for you and Dezzy. :cheer:
  21. Don't know, but I'd guess it would just be an Australia Post courier. Mine just come to the post office ... but no card tonight..still waiting... :-)
  22. Can't help directly trifecta. But a couple of thoughts. Have a look at the tongue label on some trainers here .. most have US and European sizes on them. Having said that, I find that sizes vary with make. And also, given that shipping from CR is very expensive (hence we get so excited about free shipping :D ) I would think it would be more cost effective to buy here - there are some great Goretex shoes available in different brands - from hiking and camping places like Mountain Designs, Snowgum, etc. etc.
