Could be a melanoma - not necessarily malignant though. Fingers crossed the vet finds nothing overly serious going on there. T.

In Sam's defense... I actually visited STAR when she was working there - and was very pleasantly surprised at the standard of care she and her family were providing the dogs there. I also witnessed a couple of adoption prospect meetings where everything about the particular dog was discussed... she actually knocked back one family because they weren't going to be the right home for that particular dog (which may have upset MN immensely). All of the dogs were happy, healthy, and their enclosures were spotless... not one dog was drugged, and all were exercised individually during the course of the day with plenty of one-on-one human interaction and love. Sam was fully cognizant of each dog's individual needs and wants... T.

Have either of your local vets sought advice from an allergy specialist? It's as simple as a professional phone call from one vet to another really. Especially as for you to visit the specialist yourself involves a 5 hour drive each way. Surely an allergy specialist could give your vet some idea of what tests may be required for your Ralph's condition - and how to gather the samples for testing (and possibly send them off to the specialist/path labs for said tests to be analysed). Hahaha @ Katdogs. I only ever have one question... "Can I please have a pat/cuddle?" According to the showing schedule there is only going to be ONE Bloodhound there... I hope I find him/her for a pat! 10 Borzois, 11 Wolfies, 50 Labs, and 42 Boxers... I'm going to be busy... *grin* BOM says scattered showers, possible thunderstorm, but reckons only 3-8mm average rain... Big decision... do I take the big lens for the camera, or just stick the 18-270mm on and be done with it? I suppose I could take the big lens in it's case, and switch if needed... T.

My horse puppy got tonsillitis when she was 3 months old... nothing near as nasty as what you are describing with your pup though. If this is a recurring problem, I'd be going for the biopsy asap to find out exactly what is happening there. T.

I was really worried about your hand HW... thank dog there's nothing broken! Seriously! These people are beyond idiotic! They are fully aware of the damage their dogs are capable of, yet they aren't making ANY moves to try to stop another incident happening? I'd be completely livid if I drove past and saw them with the dogs out the front again... Next time, just stop the car and snap a photo with your phone... bugger what they may think... If the council don't declare the dogs at least menacing (or put in place a control order), then I'd be going to the media with the whole sorry story - and I'd give the media the address where they live so they can hassle them for good measure! Funny how if either of the dogs were tan staffy types with red noses, they'd have been declared or euthed already, yes? T.

The fact that these two dogs were intent on taking on 2 much larger dogs just for the hell of it speaks volumes for the fact that one slip up by the owner, and it will certainly happen again. At the very least they should be slapped with a menacing dog order - on top of the already issued fines and any other restitution required in the way of vet costs for Maddie and Stan's treatment. I couldn't give 2 shits if the owner of those dogs was financially viable or not - her dogs have attacked without provocation and caused injury to innocent parties - she needs to step up to her responsibilities in owning dogs that are aggressive towards other animals (there's no 100% correlation between DA and HA, so I'm not bringing up the "what if it were a child" argument - but plenty of others have). HW - what was the doctor's verdict on your hand and foot injuries? T.

Take some pretty coloured bows home with you and take pics of him all dolled up... I love seeing tarted up scruffies... *grin* A red or blue bandana would also look very smart on him for a photo shoot... T.

The bitch was desexed at the time of the Caesar. May I ask why? T. -
What has the doctor said about your hand and foot HW? I hope it's just bruising... but the description of your hand sounded pretty nasty... Zeddy sends Stan, Maddie, and you some of her special healing slobber kisses... seriously, Zeddy spit is the best thing for wounds - heal mine up in no time! T.

Gorgeous! T.

As you may have noticed, tan dogs tend to photograph really nicely... and your boy has a fair bit of tan in him. Add that to his lovely textured coat, and you have a recipe for amazing photos... *grin* T.

Help Needed Hand Raising Newborn Litter

I found that the 3-6 month old rated human teats worked best for my Rotti pups years ago - dogs' natural teats have somewhat faster flow than humans, and the 3 month old rated human teats seem to be the closest to giving that flow. I found that they preferred the silicone teats that were the "natural" shape as well. T. -
It's a tough call to make when we only have one description as to what happened... How would the other dog's owner describe the same incident? It may well be along the lines of what Snook described... possible, yes? It's highly possible that the other dog's owner is at training in order to work on their dog's issues - and having others losing track of what their dogs are doing is not exactly what they were expecting either. Most people expect dog training groups to be places where people ARE paying a bit more attention to their dogs interactions. I'd say that next time you go, you just be a little more aware of what your pup may be doing when you aren't paying close attention to it - pick it up if you want to stop and have a chat and pup still hasn't worked out it has to stay close to you. Will save everyone any grief (including you and your pup) in the long run, yes? T.

He's just the perfect colours to practice your photography on too... stunning! T.

Thank dog for Stan... at least he's doing his best to take advantage of the whole situation... *grin* I hope to hear you've been to the doctor for your own injuries today... and that you are only a bit battered, but will be fine... T.
-
He looks like a Deefer to me... *grin* He truly is an awesome photo subject - perfect colouring, lovely scruffy coat, and he looks like he's having a great time nomming on that bone! T.
-
He looks like he has a happy demeanour - maybe he will be the companion you've been needing for a while now... ... and he's drop dead gorgeous... *grin* T.

They are simply gorgeous photos of a very good looking dog skyefool! Does this gorgeous dog have a name? T.

Typical Stan... thinks only of his poor starving belly... lol! Ya gotta love the dude, don't you? I hope some of his attitude rubs off on poor sweet Maddie and she recovers quickly from her surgery. When you see the doctor for your hand, please get him to give you a referral for x-rays on the hand and foot, OK? You may have small things busted in there after your ordeal, and if not seen to quickly, they could give you more gyp than you need for longer than necessary. I'd still be reporting the other dogs' owner, and sending in photos of both Stan's and Maddie's injuries - and pics of your hand and swollen foot for good measure. You have their address and descriptions of both the attacking dogs, so it shouldn't be too hard for the ranger to follow up on reasonably quickly. At the very least I reckon a "dogs at large" fine on top of the vet bill they've already paid would be a start - and may make them think about how they should contain their dogs more effectively from now on. Big smoochy kisses for Stan, and gentle cuddles for sweet Maddie... T.

I've only just seen this... how horrible for Stan and Maddie (and you)! A friend of mine is a vet at Erina emergency vet hospital - and I know that if she's looking after Maddie, she couldn't be in better and more caring hands... and she's an exceptional surgeon to boot. Don't forget your own injuries in all of this - please have your hand looked at by a doctor - or at the very least by the vet looking after Maddie, OK? You may have done yourself some damage there judging by your description of the bruising... Healing and calming vibes from me and mine to you and yours HazyWal... T.

Seriously stupid of them to put it in the display case like that... it should have been at home with someone looking after it instead. T.
