That is a stunning photo... captures her inner beauty as well... T.

Fave and comment to your heart's content grizabella... I'm learning heaps from your comments on the chimps... thanks heaps! Hopefully I'll be able to tell them all apart reliably eventually... lol! Next time you make it up here to Sydney, we need to meet up at the Chimp exhibit (on a weekend if you can) and you can help me pick everyone out.... T.
-
Thanks for the faves perse... *grin* You have some gorgeous photos also... will drop back by and go through them all a little bit later today, OK? T.

We need LOTS of eyes pics please... of the boys as well... *grin* T.

There's a lot of zigging and zagging... and sometimes knowing when the keeper talks are about to start is a good thing - get there before the crowds and get a decent spot. Keeper talks often coincide with feeding so the animals are more energetic at that point in time... I've been going to the zoo every weekend for a few weeks now also, so there's no real urgency to see everything or anything in particular... I get to be fairly leisurely in my meanderings. T.

OMG! They aren't even 2 weeks old yet... and she's off and running already! How big is she though... poor Widget... T.

Reminder - Always Keep Dogs Secured In Cars.

My dogs are harnessed in the car - or crated in the back section of the wagon. Seen too many near accidents to chance my dogs... T. -

Like this by any chance? I hope you said she looked intelligent... and friendly... and deadly cute... lol! T. Certainly was T! And I certainly found her friendly, deadly cute, and intelligent! She's such a pretty girl! Are her eyes still slightly different colours? Hehe! Yep - her eyes are still slightly different shades... ... and she's more often being cheeky or goofy than not... but I still love her to death. I got the same dog as you... didn't look overly impressed at being photographed... lol! T. -
Photos are now up... http://www.flickr.com/photos/tdierikx/ T.

Looking at Lulu yesterday, she really did look really old and not doing so well physically. Her movement was really stiff and she was keeping well away from the others most of the time. The newish looking large scar on her head worries me - I'm sure it wasn't there last weekend. Her movement looked like a combination of arthritis and possibly some bruising from a pummelling. She really looked like she doesn't have much more time with us, the poor old dear. T.

Oh - and quite a few Otter shots actually came out in focus... yay!! T.

Hahaha! 999 photos of Chimps - 811 after deleting the crap ones... errr! I am a bit distressed about the old girl (Lulu?) though... she was not getting around very easily today, and has what appears to be a newish large scar on her head... I've looked at her photos taken today and actually started to cry... *sob* At the other end of the fun scale, I've got tons of gorgeous photos of everyone except your fave boy Shikamoo - he was playing hideys behind the logs... grrr! You will love the shots of Sembe and Sule playing... got lots of those. One of the girls saw something floating in the moat and decided to retrieve it - until she realised it was a dead fruit bat. I have the whole thing in a series of pics, with very interested onlookers, and one of the littlies having a go at it too (from up on high and to little effect though... lol!) Oh - and it looks like Sule's mum (Sasha?) is coming into season and is being a big tart... and I got a few of her telling Sule to bugger off a few times too... so he slapped her a couple of times - cheeky sod! I'm completely knackered now and need to shower and eat... then I'm going to veg out in front of the TV and go to bed. Will get the best pics sorted and up tomorrow evening, OK? (I'll do a separate set especially of the Chimps on Flickr for you grizabella - there are so many of them) T.

Well - today was MUCH better... but I've taken 1700+ photos, so they'll take some time to go through... errr! Grizabella - I have LOTS of Chimp photos for you - but Shikamoo was being particularly coy today, so not so many of him. Kibalu and Kimya were a bit more active than usual today, so have a few of Kibalu NOT lying around looking bored... haven't checked how many are in good focus yet... Have a series of a Tiger yawning... yay! And the Binturong chewing... Hoping that more of the Otter shots came out in focus for a change - dog knows, I took enough of them! Off to sort photos now... T.
-
Awww... hello little one! Aren't you the cutest thing ever? T.
-
Kimya looks like she's going "lalalalala!" or singing along with her imaginary headphones... lol! She's a character, that's for sure! T.

OMG - Katdogs' Stevie looks exactly like the dogs in the long hair article... maybe she's actually a long haired Lab instead of a GR/Lab mix? T.

Well - today dawned nice and sunny - and I headed off to the Zoo nice and early... and it was a bit of a bust... I swear, nearly every darned animal there was in full "how boring can I be" mode. The family of 5 Gorillas that are moving to Mogo Zoo soon weren't out at all - but I got a couple of pics of the 2 that are staying, even though they weren't really doing anything interesting. The Chimps were all lazing right up the back of their exhibit ignoring the crowd completely - got a couple of shots, but nothing to write home about. The Tigers were sleeping, but I managed to get a few shots of the male, who is never usually awake... and the Lions were all asleep too. So I went around to the lesser frequented exhibits and had a bit more luck - got shots of the Tassie Devils, lots of birds, a Koala eating - and got chased by the Emu so didn't get any shots of him... lol! Ended up at the Free Flight Show and got a couple of cool shots... then went home... Maybe tomorrow will be better... Anyways - the 20 decent photos from today are up on my Flickr account... http://www.flickr.com/photos/tdierikx/ Here's a taste... 17-08-2013-zoo 522 by tdierikx, on Flickr 17-08-2013-zoo 318 by tdierikx, on Flickr 17-08-2013-zoo 204 by tdierikx, on Flickr 17-08-2013-zoo 022 by tdierikx, on Flickr T.

Sounds to me like you need an IGGY of your own. You know, I might be able to help you there. :D Harper the Horse Puppy would sit on it and make it all broken... errr! Harper doesn't know that she's 35kgs - and even though she plays gently with her 3kg bestie, I'm not sure an Iggy would cope very well with Harper. Can I put Iggy on my "to own one day" list though? T.

Awww... hello gorgeous!! Stunning shot... love it! T.

When APBT and AmStaff both have the exact same DNA makeup - how is anyone able to tell which dog is the APBT or the AmStaff? As HW says - the only reliable testing is that from known stock and their progeny. If you have a dog of unknown parentage, then DNA testing won't give you a definitive answer as to what it actually is - just what went into making it over many years of breedings. T.

*evil stares at Kirislin who won't drive an hour each way to get us first puppy eyes photos* T.

The dog in the second link looks like a GSD... There is no mention of breed in the first article. T.

Can Threat Of Life In Prison Help Stop Dog Attacks?
tdierikx replied to Panto's topic in In The News
I would like to see harsher penalties handed down to owners in the courts when a dog does serious damage to another animal or human - especially if the dog in question has a history of menacing or the like. T. -
