  1. Hang on a sec, I thought we were doing a trade?
  2. And that is the quickest way to end ownership of well bred dogs for the general public. Or from breeders obtaining a nice bitch to start/continue their own lines for future generations... remember, you also had to start somewhere obtaining your show/breeding quality bitch
  3. Just what I was about to ask! Wondering if you earn a different ANKC recognised title other than "ET"
  4. I think it is run by the German Shepherd Club of WA. May be best to check with that club for details. M DogsWest states the GSDA is holding one on the 18th June, not sure where though but the K9 news will print it closer to the date. Yep would be nice to know in advance where so we can train there And there's another one on September 3/4 but is this second one reserved for just GSD's? It says Endurance Test (Vims/Montemelia).
  5. OMG! What did you do to your patient?! That's so sad :D I can't believe Ruby only got one night time trial in, and Millie 2 before day time ones come back. Daytime trials suck!!!! My dogs don't work as well, and we can't booze it up!!
  6. Nope, just saturated fat :D The worse it is for you, usually the yummier it is in my books!
  7. Oh, bugger Maybe that you're a sugar fighting machine? I still like to cure my sugar cravings with food, what can I say, I love my food :D
  8. Yep me too :D You're all cheaters! Now Amy can't tell sugar eating people off unless she also tells them her little secret
  9. OMG, gimme Chromium tablets Pharmacy?? I just googled seratonin and they say it's the happiness hormone so yup, I think I am definitely lacking in seratonin!! Wow, DOL isn't only good for dog training tips, but health tips for me, too
  10. Here here! I ate my lunch, soup and a small bread roll but now I'm craving more dammit. I'm near woolies so I can get anything there Where do you work in the city? Opposite end to Woollies
  11. I am seriously craving sweet food, what is wrong with me!! Couldn't wait for 12pm to tick over to eat lunch, and now it's eaten, I would kill for a cake/danish or a chocolate bar (or block ) Good thing there isn't an ATM nearby or I'd be getting some money out and hitting the closest overpriced convenience store here in the city! I only have $3 in my purse for training tonight
  12. Ideally you should throw it under their body as they back up as you want them backing up with their head lowered, not up. Otherwise they are pushing off their front end instead of working their rear end. Watch a reining horse back up and they will back with their head lowered. Yes that makes sense, thank you. I rarely throw food so it is interesting to find out why others do and now I will go and practice! A good inside exercise when the weather is crap Do you ever play the 2 food game?
  13. What info do you want to know? I'll find out for you. Thanks for this Need to find out if the trial on (I would have thought it should have been in the last K9 Magazine) and perhaps a contact telephone number so I can ring and get some details on where to send entries, how much, judges for each class etc. I'd like to know too, please! P.S. Thanks everyone for Chloe's birthday wishes. I didn't see her yesterday (she lives with mum) but I saw her Tuesday night and gave her a birthday hug and told mum to feed her something yummy for dinner!!
  14. I don't always throw, depends on the exercise I guess, a lot of times it comes from my hand as well. I have no real scientific method as I too am still learning I just decided that in this session I would throw, I guess cos it keeps them moving and gives them the opportunity to refocus, and I was throwing it close to me so they'd have the room to back away from me again.
  15. Special credit goes to those dogs that BOTH offered a 2o2o on the A-Frame!
  16. That looks like a hoot!! But imagine how much training that would undo
  17. Ditto to this!!!! Well done guys!! :D :D I did some shaping this afternoon, getting the girls to walk backwards and target an object with their back feet to eventually place both back feet on it. We had some fun! Love shaping with them, especially Ruby, she tries soooooooo hard!! That's not to say Millie doesn't try hard, because she does, it's just that Ruby is harder to motivate than Millie, but get the clicker out and Ruby's face lights up and I just love to see her enjoy it Ruby: Millie: Mind the alarms and birds going off in the background - and the extremely messy backyard! :D
  18. Funny, I do the behind the back finish with Ruby in obedience, but always do the flip finish in retrieving for some reason. I do the flip with Millie in the obedience ring as she was always so enthusiastic to jump into heel position, so I never taught her the round the back one til recently. Both need a tidy up, however. Millie's flip used to be lovely, and somewhere along the line I broke it so she doesn't always come in with her butt pulled all the way round. She used to jump into position, too But I am guessing with nowhere near as much SPRING as your springer :D
  19. What is Coopex? I have ant overload here too and want to do something about it!!
  20. I had a cat that lived to almost 20, she was just a few months shy of it. Thought that was an awesome age!! I can only dream that my Lab girls would live that long
  21. HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY, CHLOE!!! My little old lady turns 17 today Not bad going for an old chook!
  22. I think quarantine would send me broke! How much is it per day?
  23. Yup, I just posted about it costing me $600 one way for Millie, Canberra to Perth unaccompanied!! ;)
  24. And a lot less than flying 3 critters from the UK to Perth, via Singapore ;) I was going to say not as much as flying Millie from Canberra to Perth at $600, but I think you win, CC Send me your resume, they are always looking for people where I work for various IT roles :D
