LabRat - definitely don't be shy to come say hello, we're all friendly I've made some really great friends in real life through DOL I think it helps they're all doggy people like me so we're never short on conversation I was, but I stuck around for a while and did some stays and stuff. Then had to babysit 2 more Labs while their owner knicked off to the shop and didn't want to take them with her Saw you guys and was gonna come over but didn't get a chance. Actually, I didn't see you at all, and only saw RosieFT as she was driving out the carpark. I saw mirawee, ozjen and J (J came over to say hi to me though, you rude buggers!!! ) You were! I didn't even see you to go and say hello to Banjo had 4 girls to play with though so I don't think he missed the Labs too much ;) Millie didn't miss Banjo too much, Mr Guinness is her new boyfriend :p I think she has a thing with black kelpies!!

I was an unsociable cow last night, didn't come to say hi to any of you. Hang on, come to think of it, none of you came to say hello to me, how ruuuuude!!!!

amypie and I highly recommend visiting Marapana Wildlife World  Just pack a face washer.

It's mainly about socialisation, but they give training and health care tips too.

You just described Ruby Her first novice jumping trial, she was the slow and steady one, won the ring with the only one getting a clear round, because the fast dogs "crashed and burned" and some handlers were handling their novice dogs like they would their masters dogs, and the dogs couldn't cope.

Maybe Sat we should do a Japanese run, that Japanese I had from that place you told me about was yummo!! I was a starvin marvin at the last agility trial Hey if you're coming on Friday night, bring your gazebo and if we're allowed to, we can set it up Friday ready for Sat

I just find I get a bit irritated with some of the advice thrown out there at these things, so would rather avoid it I'll be in on the fast food run, please! Are you baking your gorgeous biccies by any chance? I will make one of my old faithfuls I think, either brownies or honeycomb slice.

Would love love love this Thanks heaps! Yes I do work during the week so a Saturday would be fantastic I'm really keen to get to novice trialling level, I've been dragging it out long enough, so just hope we still aren't years off being ready to trial I'm thinking about entering the practice retrieving trial coming up (if I haven't already missed the entry deadline) in pre-novice (as I haven't done any birds with Ruby yet and I think I read pre-novice just use bumpers). Maybe with your guidance sometime you can let me know when we might be ready to try birds? -

Doesn't feel slow when doing it on a treadmill!!! No way I could run it And if we have to bike on grass, I'm starting to think I may not even be capable of that but there is a 20 min break in between, so you do 8km, then a break, then 6km, rest then 6km as far as i understand it? that doesn't sound too bad- certainly better than 20 continuous kms! I can barely get through 1km at 10km/hr -
i have a Dryer for Misha but i also do sunnie after has had a wash and he dries in a matter of minutes with the dryer its soo handy!! Good Ol' Ebay! ebay is probably where I will go for mine!!

I took Ruby to puppy preschool at the vets 2 days after she came home, and she was the shyest one of the lot Seriously!!!! But by week 2 she came out of her shell I won't do puppy preschool for my next dog, but I will be taking it places as soon as I can for lots of socialisation. I only did it for Ruby as she had no other dogs (besides little old maltese Chloe) to socialise with, and I was extra paranoid about socialisation because Chloe got none as a youngster outside the home so she used to just bark at people and other dogs (now she's too blind to see anyone to bark at She always hated men, too, and would bark extra long at them!!)

Yes that was quite weird him getting up so many times! If only you knew about the allergies then! Ruby slept through the night after a few nights home. I kept getting up to her and waking her up to take her out for the first week she was home, but by the second week I didn't bother and no accidents She was pretty easy to toilet train, the crate is a wonderful thing

I'm surprised their pup was "cheaper", BYB's usually charge as much as registered ones! And the main reason they go for a BYB is cos they can get one now and don't get screened. Each to their own, eh? That is most of the dog owning population! At our local park, where there are sometimes up to 20 dogs there at any one time, I could count on one hand who bought their dogs from registered breeders. It's quite sad and I don't see it changing any time soon. I'm really proud of my sister. She is after a puppy. We viewed some pups the other week and after deciding that this litter wasn't for her, I thought she'd either get one of the pups anyway just so she doesn't have to wait or give up because it's all too hard. But my views on buying from registered breeders (or getting a rescue) must be taken notice of, because she is now on the list for a pup hopefully to be born towards the end of the year She decided waiting for a pup from a registered breeder she felt comfortable with was the better option to get a dog that will fit in with her family This coming from a family who usually try to get me going by saying they're all going to get a dog from the pet shop

"names for this week" I'd be interested to hear what the going rate is Candice when you find out. It jumped $200 from my original enquiry and deciding to go with her to actually being puppies on the ground. There should be some food I'd imagine, if not on the lower oval, definitely at the canteen on the top oval. I'll see if I can find time on Friday to do some baking, any suggestions from peoples?!

Yeah I had one of those, they did the job! Millie would just try jump out of a bath so I like the shower so I can lock her in Plus there is no bath in my house! I wouldn't be without one of these shower heads in future houses though, they are fab for cleaning the shower, too!
-
You could take a damp cloth to yours I used to take Ruby to the hydrobath at VetWest as it was included for free in their wellness package. Now that I haven't done the wellness package for a couple of years, they no longer get regular baths I like using my shower cos it has the shower attachment like a hose, best thing ever and to think when I got the bathroom renovated I almost went with the cheapest shower head that stays put! So glad I upgraded
-
I don't have a coated breed but I would still like to buy one of those dryers with a hose attachment! Ruby can stay damp for hours even after many towel rub downs and taking a hair dryer to her. Millie dries in no time. My next dog will possibly be coated so it won't go to waste if I splurge one day! But I rarely bath the dogs anyway

Doesn't feel slow when doing it on a treadmill!!! No way I could run it And if we have to bike on grass, I'm starting to think I may not even be capable of that I haven't done much training, quite busy during the week with other training but I really do need to get their fitness levels up! The longest I've been out with them is about 15-20 mins at a steady pace, but probably not at the 10km/hr mark (need that bike monitor thing still or else I will never know how fast we're going!) Haven't done anything to treat their paws. -
In my experience, introduce yourself briefly, ask if they have any plans for litters coming up if their website doesn't state so, say what you're after and what sort of home you can offer a pup, and ask about any health tests the breed may require Then take it from there. I don't think a breeder will take offence to a final sentence asking how much their pups are. Price isn't the deciding factor and shouldn't be the main point in the email, but a puppy buyer still needs to know so they know how much to put aside so I see it as a fair question to ask!

Welcome!! I love Beagles Do you have a puppy on the way or are still contacting breeders?

No worries, if I don't get smacked over the head by others for doing so What side of the demountable do you prefer to park on for the classic? And if you get there before me (cos I'm always fashionably late :p) can you please save me a spot? But I will try for 6pm! Edit: Are we allowed to set up gazebos on Friday night and leave them up for Saturday? Or is that a big no-no? I've never done both two nights in a row so don't really know what the deal is with spot saving!
-
I would buy some too, except I haven't bought anything from itunes yet so these cards would probably sit there unused for ages And there are no albums I want to buy currently. Bummer!! Not sure what time I'm getting there on Friday yet, need to look it up. Lucky I work from home on Friday so I don't have to rush home from the city. Gonna put in extra hours this week so I don't have many hours to do on Friday Edit: Vetting time (and usually when you can collect your numbers) is 6.45-7.15pm so I'm aiming to get there just after 6pm. Usually I wouldn't get there so early, but there will be more entries so more people and less parking. Judging time is 7.30pm.

To WA postcode 6056 And is it cheaper to post several at once to WA as I am also interested -
Hmm Lexi got a blockage from eating an orange palm berry at it cost me $1800 but luckily I had a dog at the end of it. I know you don't want to but you really need to discuss it with the owners, or get your dad to My Dad's more of a wuss than I am Really not sure what to say to them. I can't suggest they get it cut down as that costs money But I'd go them halvsies just to get rid of the damn thing, even though I don't have the spare $$! Did I mention how much I hate palm trees? (and living so close to others).
