I'm so sorry. Loosing them before their time is the hardest I think.

I used to feed 2 meals a day but I've dropped it down to one. Usually between 3.30-5.30 pm. If I'm out they get fed when I get home, which is sometimes quite late, and they're usually very happy to see me.

I asked about actually changing the standard to either be more specific about colours or else to say any colour or combintaion of colours except brindle and black/blue and tan, but apparently that isn't possible either. I was thinking about the whippet standard. It says any colour so in theory you could have black and tan whippets. I'm not sure what would happen if someone tried to register one though. People can register anything they want as long as they call it what it is supposed to be called. Years ago White boxers were not able to be registered so they were registered as red and white and not taken out . I thought Dogs NSW was now responsible for the registrations for Victoria - makes no sense that they are different. If the boxer people want to register their dogs incorrectly that's up to them, but the Iggy breeders responsible for this petition want to register their dogs accurately for future generations. If you would like to add your support it would be appreciated.

She probably doesn't get on any forums. Alot of people call them Iggys/ies. She'll be able to buy plenty of whippet and iggy clothes on the internet, as well as lots of pretty collars.

I friend of mine is a foster carer for one of the rescues who was expecting 2 little dogs today.

some transport companies use dog trailers.

I'm told there have been instances here in Vic of a dog imported from OS having its colour changed on the papers here because Dogs Vic dont have provision for the colour. we would be most grateful for your support.

I dont bother with water inside anymore. My dogs can go outside whenever they want through a dog door and I've got water gardens and clam shells for them out there.

I'd go for the clam shell too. Tag the whippet used to do this as a puppy too and I discovered it was because he loves water.

It is my understanding that the ANKC cannot be approached directly on matters and that all submissions, requests or whatever must come through the states controlling bodies but they did petition the ANKC in 2010 and it was accepted but Dogs Vic have recently changed what they will accept and as I've shown with the photo above it doesn't allow for the many variations of colour. There is no breed club in Vic, I think the only one in Australia is the recently formed WA club. Without breed clubs it is so much more difficult, that is why Lorna has asked for any interested people to support this petition

It is correct, as I understand it, the VCA is disregarding it, so breeders want to petition them to abide by the decision made back in 2010 by the ANKC Really? ANKC decisions are binding on all CC's. Adherence isn't optional. I'd be bringing to the attention of the ANKC Breed Standards Committee. Given that the ANKC pedigree register is now administrated by Dogs NSW, I can't see what Dogs Vic do or don't do affecting the colours of pups as they are registered. Non standard colours might make the Limit register but they can't be upgraded. You would think so but the VCA are not following it. Now in Vic this puppy must be registered as black and white......or fawn and white!!!! and as you can see neither describes it. 5F6A2494dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

:laugh: Iggy Mum gave her a birthday card with a little ninja on it. :laugh: We went down to visit Marcus and the Iggy family and all met at an enclosed school ground to let the run together. The whole family was back together, Mum Widget and Neko Arkey and Milton.

Yes I found it to be as well, but the main thing is that IG breeders want the VCA to adhere to or abide by the decision reached by the ANKC in 2010. If you want clarification I can give you Lornas email address, she's in a better position to explain it than I am.

If you're asking about brindle and Black/Blue and tan, I dont know, but they're not in the standard.
