Neko went to the whippet races yesterday. She and Dasher had a few races. It started well. Look how focussed they both are! but then uh oh! Lure malfunction! Neko knows what to do, but Dasher wasn't so sure. so while Neko shook the crap out of the lure, Dasher dashed and Harumi just laughed.

I dont know if you even need a workshop like that. Funnily enough, I remember when Ruth was still learning and she posted photos of Charlotte Reeves work here and asked how does she get photos like that, and now they're working together. :laugh:

Oh, if I had to do that for Neko I think I'd say, "my dog, my small pestilent one" cause that's what I call her. :laugh:

I've never heard this story before, but it sounds like something out of The Man from Snowy River, except it's a dog.

I dont promote my redbubble, haven't added a photo for a long time either. It's quite expensive now. I used to sell a few calendars but I gave all the money to the whippet racing club I'm involved with, so never made a cent myself. The markup isn't much anyway.

Quite a few have gone on from here to become professional photographers. Ruthless, Becandcharch, Huga, Serena, I'm sure there's plenty more.

2 puppies have gone to their new homes and Lorna is keeping one. I haven't heard anymore about them, but I bet they're cute and causing havoc.

She's growing up! I think her first season wont be far away, things seem to be happening "down there" I'll have to sit her down and have the mother daughter talk to her soon. Here's what she looks like now, this taken just a few minutes ago. My little mountain goat, who likes to be up high.

So do I, mine is from an injury to my lower back as a child and has caused me huge amounts of pain over the years. Esky, I do want to emphasise that I didn't comment from an aesthetic or 'beauty contest' point of view, but only because an uneven stance and uneven muscle development in a young dog is worth checking out to me. But my standards of care and awareness of these things are probably higher than most and I certainly didn't mean to be a source of stress for you. I hope it is nothing. I completely agree with this, which is why I've already spent a small fortune taking Neko to a vet/chiro, thinking she had something wrong with her, when it turns out apart from some tenderness in her lower back which will probably right itself, it's all just her conformation, which is so different to a whippet.The last thing you want is an injury that happens in puppyhood that will affect him for the rest of his life.

I want an iggy just like her! She sounds perfect :D I love her. She makes me laugh every day. It's lucky I'm with her all the time though, I think if I had to leave her alone she'd be a problem, she'd either have to be crated or put outside, because she'd trash the house if she had free rein. She wouldn't cope with being locked out though either, she'd get too cold and she barks alot. She's nothing like a whippet puppy that's for sure, although I knew that when I got her. I dont know where she gets all her energy from, there's nothing of her, and yet she could power a small city with the amount of output she has.

Just a few million years late. It probably was ocean back then.

Neko at 10 months is still incredibly lively, and I dont think it's going to stop anytime soon. It's hard to tire her out, and when she's in a mood she cannot be ignored or she'd go and trash something. She's already torn holes in my carpet, thank goodness I'm not renting. I dont know if it's necessarily because she is a puppy, I think it's more her breed. I had some friends, long time whippet and greyhound breeders/showies visit yesterday and after about 10 minutes of watching her they said they couldn't stand it, it would drive them nuts.

I meant to add, it's incredible isn't it, that much growth in such a short time. To the untrained eye he probably looks like a big strong dog, but he's really still only at the goofy gangly puppy stage. It must take careful monitoring of his nutrition.
