  1. toys never last long here, even the toughest ones get shredded, gutted, eaten, disembowled etc by the boys but for some reason this humble little fluffy ball has survived since Feather was a puppy, that's 12 years now. I dont know how it's survived, but it has, and Neko loves it. So do I because I can throw it in the house without wrecking things.
  2. for the curious but uneducated of us, please post a photo of what it looks like. :D
  3. A sterling effort for an older sire Yes, we're pretty proud of him. I dont think he could believe his luck, he got a few matings too and the last one he decided to get comfy during the tie and they both had a little lay down.
  4. Oh dear, that poor man, and cat (since it was obviously frightened) I suspect the man had some serious damage. They could use his scream for sound effects in movies since it was a genuine scream of agony.
  5. you lot are funny, but they are pretty cute, and soooo pretty, although I generally go for solid colours with minimal white, these littlies are very flashy.
  6. A person of small stature and not a lot of strength ..shocked/scared, and with two strong dogs in a serious fight ? I don't blame you, Huskydrake .If you were not 100% certain of how to separate fighting dogs .. you were risking your own self . I agree with you Perse. We are forever being told not to get between 2 fighting dogs. I'm sure she did what she could. I get the impression English isn't her first language, perhaps she isn't able to express the emotions and state of mind she felt when she describes asking for help from the neighbours.
  7. I'm sorry your poor dog was killed in such a horrific way. Cant the council charge them for having a dangerous dog even though it's now dead?
  8. We went visiting the rellies yesterday. These puppies are sired by Nekos uncle who was 12 years old when he did the deed and he'd never been used before. The breeder is thrilled with the result. Who goes there?!
  9. It might be better to be stern to him and tell him firmly to go home. He looks sweet, but I'm sure that dog that attacked the little boy on his bike looked sweet as a pup too.
  10. apparently they're still looking for a home.
  11. I was trying to take photos of Penny whippet today because it's her 15th birthday, but Neko has made it her mission in life to photo bomb everything, and distract me from my purpose. I dont call her the small pestilent one for nothing. Pucky looking adorable Until........... Here she is being a daredevil, jumping through the jaws of death the pest called Neko! I know this is a rubbish photo but it's so typical of her. She's doing her 2 pawed shove, or bounce here. It's what she does when she wants someone, or something to play with her, even inanimate objects, she invites them to play. Who Me? Check out the eye about to do a belly slam on Puck Ooooof! goes Puck I dub thee Sir Tag of the lounge room
  12. It's my sweet old girl Pennys 15th birthday today, actually the breeder forgot which date it is, it might be the 18th so we will celebrate both days this year because I'm sure it will be her last. Anyway, I wanted to get a photo of her, but it's not always easy now...... since the small pestilent one known as Neko came along. Happy Birthday Pen. then the interuption I knew would come. Auntie Penny! Auntie Penny! mwah! mwah! mwah!
  13. I dont think so, unless they get wisdom teeth like we do later on. She's 9 1/2 months old.
  14. If she has milk is it feasible to offer her as a foster mother to puppies who've been orphaned or from a large litter where they cant get enough milk and attention?
  15. Wow, I love that cat!! The dog is terrifying, it's on the prowl and then just seems to think "I'll have that" Poor little kid to be attacked like that out of the blue.
  16. No, it hadn't occurred to me, I might look into getting a blood test but I cannot afford to go hunting if nothing's found.
  17. I've noticed Neko often has swollen glands in her throat. She seems otherwise very well, she's lively, active and playful and always has a good appetite. I took her to Barry Haywood yesterday, he's a vet and chiro. I'd taken her to see him in his role as a chiro but asked him to look at her swollen glands as well. He thought it might be her tonsils as they looked a little bit red. Although he hasn't prescribed anything for them he said if it's persistant she might need anti biotics and if it keeps recurring sometimes dogs' tonsils are removed. I wouldn't want to resort to that. I'm wondering if there's any natural treatment that might boost her immune system. She seems to be really healthy and even the swollen glands dont seem to bother her, I'd probably not even have noticed them if she wasn't so fine coated and skinned.
  18. she doesn't get wrapped in cotton wool here, I let her get out and be a dog. She does all the doggy things, including the disgusting ones like eating horse and chook poo, digging etc. I am careful at the park with her though because of other dogs but she's actually quite bold and loves to play chasey. She's been trained to come to me if she feels unsure of a dog though and I scoop her up in my arms so she feels safe.
  19. Perhaps you can use the recent attack and death of a greyhound to emphasise your concern. Good luck with it, I hope you get to put your point and experience across and they keep it accurate.
  20. I cant help comparing his lamp post legs to my tiny Nekos at the same age.
  21. all the photos are definitely out takes, but they were all I could get.
  22. thanks everyone, she's certainly larger than life. I was asked to take some photos of her beside the whippets to show how big, or small she is. Impossible to get her standing still, these are the best I could do. I wuv you uncle Taggy and no better success getting her to stand still beside Blondie the chicken
  23. perfect! It's the hardest time, I understand what you're going through right now.
