how exciting for you.
-
I wonder if you could take a sheet with you for your photography sessions, not to put in the dog run but to hang over the wire to block the harsh light?
-
Sun over head on bright sunny days isn't great but to be honest I never give it alot of thought, I just take pics as the mood and situation arises. I suppose some turn out better than others depening on the conditions at the time though. Here's another one just taken in natural light (I dont own a flash) These were taken in sunny conditions although I dont think it was overhead.

It was just the light coming through the window. I dont even have any fancy editing techniques.

Whippet Missing In Canberra
Kirislin replied to keetamouse's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
doesn't sound good, I hope they find him. He could get caught on something. He might not have been chained for long periods, perhaps they were visiting somewhere and he couldn't go inside, I dont know, but there could be any number of reasons why he was tied up. I've tied my whippets up at times. -
I adore my little black dog. I bet I'd have no trouble rehoming her. she's not going anywhere though. I quite like photographing her in a dark background so it's dark on dark. I didn't use a flash here.

Your photos always have that lovely creaminess to them, to my eye anyway.
-
you could hire her out to snorers. Instead of a cpap machine you could call her a cPUP machine.

 I could imagine this happeneing here too. You're lucky you didn't wake with her nose or a paw halfway down your throat looking for where the noise is coming from. I reckon that's what Neko would do.

If you go to the Dr I think by law they have to report dog attacks on their patients.

Help Needed Hand Raising Newborn Litter
Kirislin replied to Airedaler's topic in General Dog Discussion
from what you've said, if she doesn't get immediate veterinary attention for them I dont like their chances of survival. -
Yep that's what I was wondering, now all I want is to see PHOTOS PHOTOS PHOTOS!!! Oh no! I just read your post more carefully, you didn't go?! Whaa?
-
Lucky they're big dogs. This is a real fear of mine, especially now as I have Neko who weighs all of 4 kilos. If they attacked her they would have torn her to pieces! sending lots of cyber hugs and kisses and get well thoughts to Maddie and Stan and trying to telepathically will you to forget to close the fridge door for Stan to have a smorgasboard.

Help Needed Hand Raising Newborn Litter
Kirislin replied to Airedaler's topic in General Dog Discussion
she might not be able to feed them though. If they've become dehydrated they wont even try to suckle, they'll just weaken and die, that is what nearly happend to my puppies. She needs to get fluids into them and also work out why they've got the runs and treat it otherwise they will die. -
Help Needed Hand Raising Newborn Litter
Kirislin replied to Airedaler's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd be getting them to a vet. I had a litter that developed diarrhoea at 7 days and very nearly died because it took a few days to diagnose that they had giardia. The problem with diarrhoea is that they become dehydrated and one of the first things to happen is that the loose the sucking reflex, so unless they're given fluids, in my puppies case subcutaneously, they starve to death. The bleeding from the nos and anus though sounds very serious indeed. -
Just seen this, I'm sure my blood pressure shot up a few clicks when I read it too. I'm feeling much the same as everyone else, angry and upset that you, Maddie and Stan were attacked. Did anyone help you or witness it? Take photos of your injuries as well as your dogs and report it. I hope Maddie and Stan are OK, poor darlings.

I'll be interested to see how the 150-600 fares. What's the details on that lens?
-
Well done for acting so quickly then! Lets hope that's the last you see of it.

specific breed of dog or is it a mixed meeting?
-
this was what I was thinking too.
