  2. If everyone could sign the petition that is a way you can help, takes less than a minute!
  3. My sisters friend recently bought a pitbull X staffy from a dodgy backyard breeder. He was wanting a puppy for a little while and my sister recommended he go to Lort Smith and find a dog suitable to his needs. Stupidly the next day, he heard a friend of his was selling puppies, went to have a look and fell in love. He is very naive about dogs and only found out Pitbulls are illegal in victoria when we both screamed at him. Firstly for buying off someone dodgy, secondly for buying on impulse. Apparently the father dog is a full Pitbull, the mother is Pitbull x Staffy. He saw the parents first hand. The puppy is 7 weeks old. His problem now is that he is worried that he won't be able to register the pup, take it to the vet etc. He actually rang the guy who sold the pup to him and told him he was having second thoughts because he didnt realise the dog was illegal, could he give the pup back to him, and the guy told him " Its your problem now." He does not know if this dog is from fighting lines, totally ignorant about this stuff. Besides reporting these people, which he wants to do. What do you think should happen with this puppy? Can it be taken to the vet and be treated as a normal dog? What do you think the temperament would be like? He is worried now that he is going to be vicious. Is it better off to get this puppy PTS now or taken to some kind of rescue??? I really don't know much about this breed so I dont know what to tell him.
  4. You do realise that you can't show a dog that has been desexed? Goodluck with everything!
  5. OHhh and I'm sure the monkeys would have been endangered, they got really pissed when I tried to take a photo. Also they were in a birdcage, similar that you would put a budgie in. So sad.
  6. Yes I saw the same thing in Japan, March this year. The one I went to even had these little baby monkeys for sale!!! I tried to take photos of them but I got busted and screamed at and had to leave, which I wanted to do anyway because its seriously disturbing in there.
  7. Desexing is best, whether it be at 5 months or 12 months. If your not showing, I think it should be done. It will NOT change his behaviour. It is a simple simple operation for a male, he will most likely be bouncing around as his usual self within a day.
  8. There are so many wonderful, reputable breeders in Vic. I can recommend you my Cavaliers breeder. http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/member...ame=COATESVILLE She doesn't have litters often. My cavalier has the perfect true temperament. Meredith is the breeder, she only has I think it was 7 dogs, all live inside with her and pups bought up inside. I got the parents heart certificates. She is a lovely lady!!
  9. Aannie - Congratulations on soon to be a Cavalier owner! If your breeder is registered, you should receive papers. Its not a matter of if you 'want' them or not. Limited means the puppy is not to be bred from and is not able to be shown. Your breeder may also have a contract written up for you that you have to sign saying that you will get the pup desexed and will not breed from the pup. $1000 is the average price of a Cavalier, you should not pay more for the papers, it should be included in this price, if the breeder is registered. I don't think you should be worried that the pups will be outside from 6 weeks during the day, as long as the breeder is including them in familly life and getting them accustomed to different noises, objects etc. Goodluck, you should go have a look at the Breed Sub Forum in General Discussion. Go to the CKSC thread - lots of helpful information relating directly to this wonderful, loveable breed! Prepare to have a shadow following you and wanting to be with you 24/7!

  16. Although, just to add, I may be coughing a bit - I have been sick for the past 5 days and it is coming to an end now. Feel back to normal just got the end of a cough. That and the rain is not going to stop me! My hubby is also coming - is there a good mix of female/male?

  19. I love the Brighton dog beach! Arnie has only been once, Lola has never been yet as the weather has been crap. She loves the water though, not too sure if she will sink or swim, she has only been in the clam pool. Some Frenchies can swim apparently.

  23. So Agility Dogs and pixie meg - When you did the Titre test inplace of 1st booster, they had sufficient immunity and thus did not require the booster??
