  1. No, I've never heard f it; but i know that our own vet and staff will use their dogs if its needed, not sure how long blood is good for?
  2. THe following is sincerly only my opinion and observations.. $300 is a lot for such a dog.. not ovedience trained, toilet trained, leash shy, people shy, we have puppies of that mix in my town often and they are little pains in the butts that end up in our RSPCA and put too sleep. in saying that.. they sell here at our pet shops for $250 and are desexed and microchipped as puppies, for the friendship bonding. The pup in question; i think should not shy away from the people that are going to feed her, walk her etc, and the dog sounds a too unstable for such a young family. - - - - why are the other two dogs remaining with the family? it's very odd that they just need to get rid of.. even for "personal reasons". was this dog stolen/found/inherited/contanimated with a less visable health condition, is it pregnant? Being 9 months it is hardly a puppy, and i would think it would have a lot of habits by now,
  3. either two boys, or one of each. no sisters. girls bitch like all hell. Hm... Can i also suggest you teach them alone time, as in; time without eachother and with a human instead.. you dont want them bonding closer with eachother then their humans. will you be sectioning off areas while they are young? I'd make sure I'm ready with gates, bowls, beds, crates etc before the arrival and read up big time on the breed, terriers and puppies. THere is a search button at the top of the DOL pages, that you can search information in the forums through; eg: Puppy's first night, or "feeding puppy 2meals vs 3" there's heaps to read. dont be afraid to ask questions, and we look forward to updates and hope you enjoy dol. I certinally do
  4. Both my Aussies did this as pups, and one of my breeders assured me that'd they'd be fine. I did offer them plently of other things to chew on, but atleast now; when we go along the beach, they are more then happy to play fetch stick, - no more loosing tennis balls.
  5. No. Do you raise Emu's ? LOL!!!
  6. and her vet told her that Kreepy and MinMin? both have Exma.
  7. This thread is incredibly dificult to read. I'm not sure where you're going with the OP. Perhaps you could rewrite this in a more... gramatically correct type.
  8. With Millie, I had three days off work followed by the weekend, so i got to spend alot of time with her and make her feel welcome. Going back to work was hard though because she would howl and carry on like a dying cat. I think personally; it's more difficult for puppy to adjust to it's new home if there is no routine to her environment from the beginning. When we got Cooper, We brough him home on the saturday evening, and he stayed inside the lounge room where he met Millie and Tiny. Sunday he was allowed to play with them and be a happy boy but wasnt' allowed unsupervised due to the size differences. Cooper was locked in our kitchen while I was at work eg: 8.30am till 12pm locked in the kitchen with radio, 12-1pm i was home and tending to him, cleaning up my kitchen (mopping his mess, checking his food water and praising him for being a good boy) then 1pm till 5. Upon arriving home from work he would sit patiently at the baby gate and wait for me to enter, no crying, or whining.. just waiting like a good boy. Two weeks after we got him he had gone from the kitchen, the the laundry, to the outside area to almost full time with millie (5months) and tiny (7months) who were really good with him, this whole time it was no people from 8am-12pm + 1pm-5pm. I think what I am getting at is that whichever you go; come to some sort of routine and stick to it.
  9. I was told by people on DOL that it is not allowed in the show ring. But as a pet, it looks pretty good.
  10. I love my vet here in Whyalla. I've always been going to him for anything and he's been the best. There are two other vets here, as well as a few within 100kms of us, but Mustafa has been by far the greater one for me.

    Peeing Puppy

I taught cooper not to pee on our bed by telling off the actual wee puddle after he'd done it, taking the wet blanket outside and praising it, all in front of him. Pretty sure i read of this idea on DOL actually, and as strange as it sounds, it worked for him.
  12. can anyone give me a rough idea of the dimensions of the compost bins? Roughly; the height and width of each panel + the space between the bars? like.. an inch or less? Not thinking puppy pens, but similiar
  13. Very tragic loss. SHe was beautiful. Rest in piece Paris. Hugs to you Rysup.
  14. it's pretty! red angel, the photo i was just about to upload is very similiar to your tree photo, so i'm going to go at it with a different perspective now. lol I think whatever i choose today will be another photo around sunset and evening time at the earliest as i have to go to work soon, although, i could leave eary and just go for a ride. Bindo Boo, where we live we are very lucky as we have beaches, creeks, marinas, shack/holiday homes, all the water you could ever need. It's not the water that you can surf, but you can jetski, boat, windsurf, swim, pat the dolphins, feed them, kayak.. there's sooo much.
  15. i always thought it was 8 weeks, i know of a registered breeder who flew a 7 week, 1 day old puppy a few weeks ago, i questioned him about that, but he said it was legal?
  16. Okay, my first photo for the february thread. Today I was riding my motorbike home from work, and pulled over on the road to take this photo. Frame and text was added on photobucket.com I decided to get off my bike, and head down to the marina and sit on the boat ramp and take a few more photos. So; i have two photos for water today. Tomorrow i think I might attempt tree. =]
  17. I just asked everyone at home here at the moment what they thought the word Dressage meant: The answer was pretty much, "horse fancy feet?" and "obedience for horses". lol. personally i know what it is, and i think most girls would know what it is, because it's every little girl's dream to have a horse, so they learn about what horses do, and watch them on tv. etc. just my humble opinion. xx
  18. MP. I've been informed that it is isn't a photo a day challenge, more of just 20 photos plus 8 optional within a 28 day period. lol
  19. Okay, I've written down all 28 "treasures" and I've put them in my handbag along with my camera, and 2 sets of fully charged batteries. So I'll be ready for it anytime I've got a moment to share Are we allowed to manipulate the colour and focus of the photos after we've taken them? IE: in photoshop? =]
  20. I really like this thread, and the january one. I started looking at the january one too late to start it, but i think i'll give february a crack. Is it too late to start now? as in post my first tomorrow? or tonight?
  21. could this be caused merely by the heat and being outside?
  22. my guys eat together out of the same large container... they have to sit together for special treat, and always in eachother's company. done this from a pup, so never had issues..
