  8. Awesome! I love long exposure photography, I'm using a photo from US based photographer, Toby Keller, on a book cover at the moment. He creates 'light sculptures' with long exposure and torches and fire and stuff - very cool! Have you thought about playing with sparklers and long exposure? - Astred

  10. Hmm I just tried this in Lightroom and got so far before realised I that I had no idea what I was doing! Not sure if you use LR but I went into Export and tried to change the dimentions and it didnt work Change the canvas size in photoshop and fill the background layer with colour, then add a mask to your photo and use gradient to blend then edges of your photo to the background colour
  11. Nope, photoshop is a pixel based graphics program and illustrator is vector. Two different files I'm afraid.

  15. No worries! I am the Art Director for a book publisher and you would be surprised at how many professional photographers and graphic designers don't know about their IP rights, or read the contracts I send out to them So I need to be well versed in copyright law (hooray) - PM me if you need any more help - Astred
  16. SUPER SQUEE!! I think my heart just exploded!! That's amazing news Bec, congratulations!!! Are they going to send you a contract regarding your IP? Make sure your image remains rights managed and you license it to them for a certain period of time. Ignore me if you're already doing this, but if you're not sure about your IP (intellectual property) rights have a look at this Info Sheet from the Australian Copyright Council
  17. Wow such awesome holiday photos! These are no ordinary happy-snaps. Well done
  18. Well Bec, I think you need to consider composition, poses, hair and styling. Luckily I've found the best website for you to use as reference and learn how to shoot a memorable family photo... like these pieces of gold! The family that perms together stays together! Family pets are always important in the photo Or capturing shared family interests
  19. Of course we took photos of your pooches! We cheered extra loud when they came out! Cheese on a stick made my chest hurt ... :/ TLC: Thanks!
  20. :p Don't you worry about him, he'll get his Yeah! We saw Ironklad and their massive AmStaffs! Poory Dutch looks like a pipsqueak next to the pure breeds, poor little rescue mutt. Thanks ^_^ I LOOOOOVE this lens. It's perfect and wonderful and lovely and fantastic! Exactly what I have been needing FIRESTONE: thanks!
  21. And just for good measure, the challenge for the whole day was: FOOD ON STICKS! Corn Cheese! Don't know if I really want to eat it. The end. Moo.
  22. OH and I went to the Show on Easter Monday and we thought it would be a great time to play with our new lens: a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens aka The Nifty Fifty. Neither of us had been to the Show in over 12 years so we were a little excited... I love the balloon sellers and their huge floating mountains... After we watched the AmStaff judging I issued OH with a 'food on a stick' challenge. Now being my husband is a hard job, I insist challenging him to eat food on sticks (which is a challenge that cannot be denied by the way) so his reluctant breakfast at the Royal Easter Show was a Dagwood Dog. Does he look thrilled? Being the Nana-craft enthusiast I am, we visited the Craft Hall Mmm tasty: award-wining few day old marble sponge Lovely quilts And knitted treats! But we spent the most time at the Agility and Flyball demo ring! Cheering on Ashoka! What a naughty Collie! (side note: this lens isn't that great at long range, we knew it but were too lazy to change lens :D ) And Jedi! And marveling and the weaving Then it was on to the Farm Nursery, to visit the vicious ACD pups! And the woolly sheep
  23. Wanted to Trade for a Frenchie. 1 x slightly used left kidney 1 x left arm and for the right pup 1 x Shiny new wife ( very well looked after ) :D Cheers Bob
