  1. I think it's 6 litters, not years.
  2. I would also suggest Biolac as a formula. Have found it to be a very good supplement. We've hand raised quite a few litters and I found wombaroo difficult to source, divetalac wasn't putting on the weight as much as I'd like but Biolac has been great. ( A bugger to mix up if the waters not hot enough) Good luck with your baby, fingers crossed she starts sucking properly soon, and joins her big brothers.
  3. Oh I'd say a whippet, not a lot of hair to maintain, not much doggy smell, and won't be too pushy for first time owners. Can take a lot of exercise or a little. Not to big or to small. Also good value for money! Generally a lot cheaper than those designer cross breeds. Or a Griffon, very easy to train, hardy and funny. Cavaliers always come to mind, but I still can't go past a whippet.
  4. hmmm will definately impact me, certainly will make it difficult with massive pups and uterine inertia, and the occasional water pup........ Lucky they don't follow this protocol with humans.... I'd be in strife.
  5. According to my new clever phone Saturday possible shower 26C Sunday Showers 23C. thank you! and your new clever phone
  6. Can anyone give me a heads up on the weather up that way this weekend??

  8. Thank you DOL'ers for a lovely day. It was beautiful weather and a small brag, my Gizzimodo (The griff) got Junior in Group 1!! What a thrill!! It's always nice to put faces to these profiles and today I met three more of you, thanks for the company. Yes that was me Spikes Puppy. I have to say the wolfhound bombed out today and so did my bullies so it wasn't all great, but that's showing!! Entourage, hope you found some moths!! lol
  9. I switched to Black hawk about a month ago and am extremely happy. Not a problem with the switch, I was getting eaglepack and struggled to find it, have used proplan and advance in the past and iams. I have less poo to pick up and my dogs coats are looking better than ever. The bullies will eat anything and so does the griff but the wolfhound can be a bit fussy but not this time. I still feed mine a bit of raw and they are thriving. I'm also happier with the price, I've halved my dry food bill. :p Thank goodness for another choice! (I'm also saving a fortune by not going to the pet shops to get my dry food as I don't wander and pick up "unnecessary" ;) stuff )
  10. I'm so sorry for your family Moselle. You've done all you can to make her life end with dignity. Good on you, as hard as it is for now.
  11. Would it get "fogged up" as it covers the nostrils a fair bit? I know there are holes there but would it be better to cut the arch higher?? (If you know what I mean...) Best test is to put it on a dog... if he needs a bulldog I can happily oblige!
  12. Ohhh thank goodness I'm not the only one!! I still train mine through this but don't push too much and TRY not to get too frustrated. (I worry that they will forget everything or turn into obnoxious adults!)
  13. Fair enough Steve. I think they (canine associations) need to spend their money on promoting, to a wider audience, pure breeds rather than (pure breed) breeders spending their money promoting them (canine associations). Sorry for the double dutch, getting a bit tired!
  14. Excellent read! Good on you Steve for getting this ball rolling. With education, is there a way to promote Canine councils in each state as the first port of call for looking for a puppy? I think the canine associations need to push there presence (on tv, in the paper, in vets and in pet shops that dont sell live animals) as a place to find out about all breeds... Unless you are a member, show or know people that do.. there really aren't many ways to "see" them. But when you walk past a pet shop in your local town, and pups are in the window... hey presto..
  15. lol, I kept looking around the Boston for the Frenchie!!!
  16. I thought I was the only one with a bag of worms!!
  17. We have given older pups to exceptional homes before but it's not something we plan to do on a regular basis. I was quite relieved to not have to find new owners both times.
  18. Have had that with very little swelling and progesterone testing has been the only way to accurately determine dates.
  19. Ohhh my, baby pugs are GORGEOUS!! We've had quite a few singletons over time and every one was quite spoilt, taken every where, (carried around) and exposed to sooo much. (Mums never had any milk so were bottle fed as well.) If mum is interacting with the pup then she will certainly teach doggy manners. But none of our singletons were ever put off by being the only one, in fact it made us spend more time with them, which led to very well adjusted babies/adults.
  20. Not at all like a Lab If it was a Lab it would have eaten the car. :nahnah: ;) ;) And I thought the wolfie eating my sanding block half an hourr ago was an issue!
  21. Ozstar is the blue in frenchies a health issue like in staffies? This fella is a real cutie but I'd hate to think he might have health risks associated with his prettiness. I have heard around the traps, Blue French Fries have health issues although I don't know if there is any truth to it.
