  1. Yes she is still on Chemo. They feel that it is slowing the tumours down and she tolerates it so well its not a issue. That's what we are doing a day at a time, heaps of photos and regular rump steak dinners but she is so full of energy its amazing that she has 3 tumours in her lungs but they are very small.
  2. Hi minimax, Soon I will have to post that my special girl is gone. We have been to Russell lea to get herbs but mainly just SASAH now. Yes she is happy and if we didn't know she had this we would have no idea as there is no clinical signs. Also the tumours are not bleeders so that is one positive.
  3. Had another xray today and they have increased in size but not as much as they could of. There are 3 tumours in the lungs but as they said she is full of energy and is eating and no clinical signs of the tumours causing her any discomfort. So she goes back in a month for another xray if she is still doing well. They cannot give a time frame as they said the tumors could slow down or accelerate in the next month so really just a week by week thing.
  4. According to my vet yes it was fine its only a park, yes I know inoculations and all the rest of it but seriously she was there for all of 5 mins. Something I have learnt dogs and pups especially are way more hardy than we think... Cross contamination doesn't need long but I guess if your vet said it was OK then it must be so. Well Ive had dogs for over 35 yrs and have taken all new pups to parks or puppy preschool never had a issue, obviously I don't let them go near other dogs I don't know or near droppings or off leash dog parks. Im involved in dog clubs and never met someone who has had a pup get sick from visiting a park... Im sure it has happened but.
  5. Don't go straight to the council. Put a nice letter in there letterbox just letting them know that the dog is barking at night. I also had this happen a weak individual went straight to the council for my dogs barking between 8am and 9am Mon - Fri as I live next to a alley way and school kids bash on the fence.A nice letter from the person would of alerted me to it and I would of fixed the issue which I have. Lets just say all neighbour's got a letter from me stating my displeasure at there weak act.

  7. What I did with our 9mth old male Ridgeback, bringing in a 8 week old Female GSD I took the GSD to the park my wife walked the RR up and they met there. The RR initially scared the gsd as he was excited but they settled quickly then we walked them back together and once inside she took over as boss and its been that way for the past 6 yrs.
  8. We have decided that our next pup will be a female Anatolian Shepherd named Reagan.
  9. I will keep you posted. She goes today for a blood test to check if the chemo needs tweaking. We will see if it working in a 3 weeks if its not we will take her off chemo all together even though it doesn't seem to bother her she is eating well very well actually (Porter House steak ) and number 2s are perfect and no vomiting. But we will know more in 3 weeks after the next Xray.
  10. She is great, chemo doesn't seem to bother her. She goes to sash next week. We went to the natural vet at Russell lea and they are throwing everything at her to help. We also chatted about the day we let her go which was hard but good to sort it. Can't cry anymore but I'm still gutted.
  11. Thanks everyone the wife and I are still a bit numb in shock!!! But she has had he first chemo today and seems fine she is so full of energy. But as the oncologist said its so small it wouldn't be effecting her at all at the moment. Hopefully it helps and slows it down that's all I can hope for know. She is going to have regular xrays to track the tumour as I don't want to wait till it bleeds. I want to let her go before any discomfort like that.
  12. Update, Not good unfortunately there was a spot on her lungs very very small but its there. Best case scenario we might have her for another 6 months at best. We are trying a new chemo but they don't sound confident. Thankfully its a painless cancer and once it starts to effect her breathing we will give my girl her wings. Totally numb and devastated, was really confident that she was going to beat this cancer but it just proves you cannot beat Haemangioma sarcoma.
  13. As WSM has said it is the silent painless killer. Usually only shows signs of pain once its too late.
  14. Our GSD was diagnosed with grade3 Haemangiosarcoma at 5 1/2. It was in her back leg deep in the muscle. She had it operated on and my local vet couldn't remove it all. Went to SASH and did a ct scan and she was cancer free besides the leg. Unfortunately the leg had to go to get margins but 10 months on she is still cancer free but she has a xray and ultrasound in 2 weeks to check her organs and if shes clear she may have just beaten it, but she did go through 5 chemo sessions and is on tablet chemo for the rest of her life. The xray and ultrasound is about $1200 at SASH give or take a few dollars so ne need to do a CT scan as that will suffice. We also go to All Natural Vet and shes on the herbs +Chinese herbs and a cancer diet. It is usually a death sentence and will likely take my girl eventually but she seems to be winning for know. Check out my topic in the general area Look for "Oncologist recommendations Sydney"
  15. My Mother in law or my Mum comes and stays and looks after them. We recently did a O/S trip of 2 weeks and they didn't even miss us but they were a few kilos heavier as they get spoilt. But they do require a life style change but they are worth it.
  16. Please get Health insurance for him and keep it going year in year out. Not like me wanted to change companies as mine nearly tripled in one year I got busy and forgot about it then found a lump on my GSD,s leg (cancer)lets just say we will never add up the bills (as I may have a heart attack) but the health insurance would of helped a lot.
  17. I think Bobby has landed in a loving caring home where he will be looked after very very well. Neigh55 you will be fine and so will Bobby.
  18. Go the webmaster, I use it for my GSD who lost a backleg to cancer. They are a marvel for getting her in the car and up and down stairs ( she can do it herself but I don't want a cruciate injury). I was advised by the SASH surgeon to get the webmaster. She got the Large and I have the straps fully adjusted in, so heaps of room left.
  19. My advise don't go. Only been once and my 6month old gsd was bailed up by 2 Dalmatians but what they and the owner who thought it was funny didn't realise was that her Ridgeback brother on the other side of the park with my wife was on his way in a full sprint to protect her lets just say the Dalmatians went flying and the owner didn't think it was so funny after that. Never ever gone to one since and that is now 6 years ago.
  20. Had my Rhodesian Ridgeback diagnosed with a grade 1 MCT just above his eye it was tiny 2 mm in size. He also has terrible skin issues and we have to keep an eye on all these skin tags as our oncologists calls them, but thankfully the skilled surgeons at SASH got clear margins on it so no need for chemo. He had a full scan and xrays and he was free of any other cancers.
  21. http://www.wellbeingfordogs.com.au/our-products/wellbeing-essentials/ Here is a link to it.
  22. Try Wellbeing Essentials. Its in a powder type form and just scatter it over their food. I give it to my GSD who in fighting Haemangiosarcoma as advised by a natural vet and the oncologist. But its great as a vitamin supplement as well.
  23. last one here she is wanting me to chase her. An old game we used to be able to play.
  24. Another fresh photo of her standing today. she is ready to take a swipe at her RR brother just out of shot. And she did loosing a leg hasn't tamed her bullying ways.
