  1. Just an update - they did come back to me eventually and postage to Central Coast was $32. I can get it cheaper elsewhere with that cost though - shame though as they had everything we were after!
  2. I've managed to move all the photos from my Lightroom folder onto a hard drive and have reorganised them into categories. Still have all the photos from another two hard drives to do. But had no luck getting the Iphotos out onto a hard drive, the folder shadows itself and I cannot do anything at all, when I try and click on it, it just takes me into Iphoto? I even tried importing them into LR but again it shadows out the folder and will not let me touch it
  3. I wonder if I can get my sister to pick me up some LOL I don't think the lakehaven store stocks it anymore.... Thanks for the tip, I might head down there. I dont suppose you know if they have the large bags? I'm also thinking about Advance Cat food, or maybe eaglepack - just depends again on whether I can get the large bags
  4. Did you email them to find out if they would deliver to you? I've not had a response to my email yet....... No, I didn't Winterpaws, I just took it from the list of postcodes that they deliver to - which comes up in 'clickable format' towards the end of the ordering process. My postcode isn't there and neither is that of the nearest town...which I would have been quite happy to pick up from. It will be interesting to see what they say to you, if they email back. I didn't get a list.... hmmmm. But so far they get a fail from me as they have not had the courtesy to respond to my email and given my order was around $400, you'd think that some customer service wouldn't be too much to expect I'm off the scout some alternate suppliers for eaglepack if anyone knows some
  5. Did you email them to find out if they would deliver to you? I've not had a response to my email yet.......
  6. Forgive the numpty question....... So when you go to lightroom you can easily pick any photo you have ever taken? They are all there in lightroom? But if you wanted to edit them in another piece of software then you would just open the file by opening the software and finding the file name? (I have photoshop on this computer but have never used it). I have photos on an old hard drive that was from an old computer, then I have some in Iphoto. I want to try and centralise them all I guess and tidy up the mess so I can find what I want Thanks everyone for all your comments, trying to get my head around it!!!!
  7. Thanks Pers it gives me a start. I think what he says then is that he has Lightroom and the photos on the external drive? I wonder if he sorts the photos under that folder or just uses Lightroom and the metadata to find the photo he is after?
  8. I am having a little trouble (still) getting my head around the best way to store photos on the Mac. I import everything via Lightroom and then just look at the photos through Lightroom. So all my photos are stored on my laptop. I think I should probably be moving the photos off my laptop and onto a seperate drive? Does that mean I would then connect that external drive when I want to look at the photos in Lightroom (or any other software?). I've also got a ton of photos in Iphoto and have no idea where the Mac hides those but assume I could move them from Iphoto and over to Lightroom - somehow??? If anyone can give me some dummy instructions I would really appreciate it. I don't quite understand LR as a storage tool - but I think it isn't one

    Tina

Words cannot explain what you have meant to me and the joy you brought me every day. 4 years ago I saw you sitting in our local pound and was sure that your owner would come to collect you. The boys told me that you were terrified of men but I was sure that a purebred ridgeback would be collected by her owners. 3 weeks, later on a Sunday morning I was back at the pound and the boys told me that your time was up and that no-one had come to reclaim you. We really only took northern breed dogs but there was something in your eyes, and my heart which generally ruled my head, made me bring you home. We got you home and you had a rotten ear infection. What luck that was - you were tattoed and some frantic phone calls to the breed club gave me your breeders number. I called and called but no answer. Their phone must have registered all my calls and a few hours later a lovely lady named Jenny called me and confirmed that yes you were a dog that she had bred. You had been named Tina because you were born on the night of a Neil Diamond concert that she had tickets to. You had kennel cough and Jenny had puppies so I said I would just keep you here until you were over it and then Jenny would take you home to keep you safe again. She was horrified that the people she had trusted to love you forever had dumped you in a pound. But you had other ideas in mind and you hated hated being in that foster yard all by yourself and so we decided to move you in with our boys, Charlie and Henry. It seems the female touch was what they needed and you slotted in like you had meant to be here all your life. I called Jenny and told her how much we had bonded and she agreed that you could be my girl, my one and only girl to share my secrets and dreams with. You were so scared of tall men and your new daddy was 6'5". He was so gentle with you and eventually you came to love him and trust him and would go up and rest your head on his lap and give him adoring glances. He loved you so much and was so proud of your ability to trust again. I was horrified to find you in pain 4 weeks ago and suffering from bloat. I raced you to the vet and you had some serious surgery to remove your spleen which had a large tumour and a part of your stomach. Throughout the surgery and recovery you marvelled everyone with your gorgeous nature. Not once did you complain. The day before we overcame that hurdle and were to by get your stitches removed you slipped on the tiles swetheart and your leg fell from under you. You shattered your leg and scared your mum so much. Throughout everything I had never heard you complain or cry and you were calling me to help you. I was home by myself and couldn't lift you so we got the vet to come and help me. You were such a good girl and never complained once. Over the last 3 weeks you have braved weekly cast changes with such a gentle and gorgeous nature. The vets and nurses were always so happy to see their gorgeous Tina who took everything in her stride without complaint. You were a clinic favourite and even people in the waiting room would comment on your lovely nature. I don't know how it happened today Sweetheart, you were just walking along and that other leg collapsed and I heard it break. Daddy wasn't home again but somehow I found some strength and managed to carry you back inside. I was trying to be so strong and not cry and upset you. Though you were in so much pain you were licking the tears from my face to make sure mummy was ok. We tried so hard baby girl, but I didn't think you would want to be left struggling for months without the use of both back legs. You were such a proud strong girl. The vets think the tumour on your spleen had probably spread and your bones weren't strong anymore. They were such serious breaks for you to suffer. Mummy is struggling so much to come to terms with how you could have two such bad breaks I thank you so much for being so strong and trying to hold on for mum. Did you know I needed to say goodbye properly? I got to hold you in my arms today and feel you lean against me as the pain finally left your body. I will miss you every day. I am sitting here looking at your bed and your brothers are not sleeping on it. I think they miss you as much as I do. Your cats will miss curling up to you and knowing that you would never hurt them, you were always so gentle with any animal smaller than you. Fly free my darling girl, Laughing Willows Diamond Tina Red, there will never be another like you. A piece of my heart has gone to the bridge with you
  10. The cart won't let me place the order ...... I have sent them an email to enquire but might have to try somewhere else for now as I doubt I will hear from them until Tuesday next week Thanks for the feedback, hopefully I can get it sorted as they have the complete range of brands I am after
  11. Does anyone order from this online retailer? I just tried to place a large order for all our dog food, cat food, cat litter, heartworm and Sashas blend. Got all the way through checkout to get an error message that they do not deliver to our area (NSW) and will only deliver to Melbourne, Geelong and Perth There was nothing on the individual pages to say that the products could only be shipped to certain areas
  12. Maybe after it airs we could all write to someone - Police or DPP - and ask how someone can murder dogs and yet absolutely nothing is done. I will be watching to see if they show it up here! Hmmmm what about a FB group - Justice for Ildd'S dogs but a broader page that wants better investigation and sentencing for animal welfare issues? Thinking out loud (and supposed to be working so doing this on the run!)
  13. The manufacturer is at Tumbi Cavmad. Just call them - its cheaper I ordered my blocks from Seabouy not the other place. They are plustic tubs filled with the odour remover in a block/waxy type form From memory Seabouy charged me $6 for the large one and $3 for the small one.
  14. I love the odour blocks for indoors. But the small ones!!! They are $3 each? Keep the cap because if it gets too much you just out the lid back on and then take it off again. One small one will do a really large area. Because we have indoor cats and dogs I just make sure to put it somewhere that they can't access (under a lounge or on a bookshelf tucked away at the back where no-one can see it) I use the liquid as well though...
  15. This stuff is great and really does work. Seabuoy did send me the replacement order as promised and arranged for it to be delivered the next day. The odour blocks are great but I would go the small ones next time. I am really sensitive to perfumes and the blocks pack a lot of punch The penetrator plus is fantastic and we use it or so many different applications - washing the dog bedding, spraying through the house, cleaning the back deck. After I got my order I realised it is the same product that a local upmarket cattery uses.... and when you go in there you cannot smell the cat / cat pee smell at all. I'm really happy with it and will continue to order it - might try the neutral odour one next time Did anyone else end up ordering direct from Seabouy? My postage was only about $3 - bargain!!!
  16. I wouldn't take any notice of that vet. My vet hasn't seen any cases. LOL that particular clinic has buckleys chance in hell of getting any of my business - they lost any opportunity the day I saw them advertising puppies, specifically dogue de bordeauxs!
  17. Central Coast vets have a warning sign up as well
  18. Dog refused to learn to poo in the one spot in the yard
  19. Is tramadol different to tramal? She also mentioned needing a blood test every 3 months if we do use the previcox? My head is spinning with questions
  20. Thanks Rommi They had actually saved the tumour for me but I told them to have it They said there was not really much point in testing it as even if it showed cancer it still wouldn't tell us how far the cancer had spread The legs giving out seems to be something that affects her moreso in winter. We discussed today maybe using an athritis med like Previcox long term but I just looked at my bill and it was $44.30 for 10 tablets That is a lot of money for meds but I guess if she needs it we find the money somehow? I am really stressing a bit about how to sort her out on the flooring here - it is all tiles and that doesn't seem to help her at all She had her bandages changed today and she was very good. I expected her to act up but she actually sat quite still and let them take off all the bandages and put a fresh lot over the plaster cast (it's only a half one). The only time she flinched was when they were pulling the tape off the groin area, the skin is quite pink there so she may have had a little reaction
  21. Has anyone purchased one of these? http://www.petmedicalcrisisfund.com.au/harness.shtml Just wondering if it might work on my very stubborn ridgeback who is refusing to get up if we use a towel under her (she broker her rear leg)
  22. Thanks When you say bone food, what do you use or reccomend? Thanks Erny, she's the sweetest ridgy you could ever meet I am very concerned about that but the vets don't seem to be as worried We tried that on the morning of the bloat incident and had no luck. I did actually ask for another vet to have a look Fifi - I meant to say that if I had the choice of whether to do the surgery I am not 100% sure of what I would have said. When they called they said that the liquid they had pumped from her stomach indicated that the spleen would be involved. They said they would do exploratoy surgery and get back to me. 4 hours later I followed them up to find out what was going on and was told that they had done this massive surgery. I'm thrilled she is still with us obviously, but if they had called me and said there was a tumour present I am not sure what I would have said and whether I would have opted for surgery.... I don't think the vet is bad, they've done a remarkable job both times and my girl is here with us and comfortable. But I am worried long term that there is more going on
  23. It is her Fifi and I updated her breeder on what is happening and she has been fantastic. I feel so bad that I've not made the time to get up there and see them, it's on the priority list for when she is mobile again When they did the surgery for the stomach they said they wouldn't like to do another surgery on her - she had intusuccpetion last year and had a big surgery (though this new vet tells me it wasn't intusucception, but buggered if I know where I would have got that word from!!!!! I'm positive they told me the bowel twisted) for that. But then they put her under GA for this and one of the options was surgery for the leg? I've had so many rescues here over the years and so have seen the range of how they recover from surgery and she is the worst. She was fine last year with that surgery but these two things have really knocked her around hard I ended up making up a beef stock yesterday and put a bit of that in some water to encourage her to drink They mentioned nothing about athritis or anything like that?
  24. Just wondering what people think about this as I am finding it hard to get my head around. Last week my 11 year old ridgy slipped and somehow shattered her shin bone. Is that something normal for an older dog? I asked the vet if she had osteo issues and she said no. I asked about bone cancer and she said no. She's got her leg in plaster and it will be like that for 3 months. Apparently we probably will eventually be able to leave her by herself but not for more than a few hours and she will not be able to be left in the yard with the other big dogs. That's OK we can manage around that somehow I guess Adding to this 3 weeks ago she had bloat, it was pretty serious, they removed her spleen, found a tumour on the spleen and also removed part of her stomach. It was an intense 3 hour surgery they tell me and the anaesthetic knocked her around a lot. She fell the day before she was due to have the tummy full of stitches out . My vets have changed hands and the one I have been dealing with on the two emergencies is ummmm hard to talk to, I've been told they are a very capable vet, I guess I feel like I am being fobbed off a bit? For example yesterday I called to say that we could not get her to drink and they told me there is water in food and as long as she eats then not to worry, I thought it was the opposite? But I will give them credit as they did send the vet nurse down with the car when she fell as I was home alone and could not mover her by myself, that was very nice of them and helped a lot! I just struggle with the idea that she can slip and shatter her bone - it's not a clean break, there are shards where it just shattered. I'm worried about long term issues and more breaks
