  1. My neuter, who is not easy to show, has taught my adult daughter a lot. My neuter is the first dog they have ever exhibited.
  2. it's the weirdest thread ever.
  3.  perché le cose non cambieranno c'mom you two, don't go all tralee on us who don't speak the lingo
  4. find a butcher who minces chicken frames, don't buy pet grade mince. I never had any trouble feeding chicken necks to any of my dogs at any age, cept for the one that always threw them back up a few hours later so no necks for him. My pups have necks from about 4 weeks on.
  5. They want to change the standard on the basis of one pup?????
  6. depends what state you are in. Not all states offer prizes for all classes.
  7. well it sort of depends on what the conversation went like between the two, there's quite a few different ways to interpret that sentence.
  8. you really need to talk to the breeder of your pup before you do anything!
  9. I love yellow collars and leads, my dogs aren't nervous.
  10. at 4 months of age you would need to find a vet who can do pennhip xrays. Don't panic. You also need to be aware some vets misdiagnose hips and recommend expensive operations when there is no need. Ring you breeder.
  11. short coated dogs, lots of pain killers and a very helpful daughter! I have just started showing again (going in the ring) after a 6 month lay off. I also have a stuffed shoulder which combined with my back can make stacking my dog a bit difficult as I don't have a lot of stretch. I stack the front then have to step to nearly behind the dog to do the rear. In a lineup that can be hard if there is not much room behind my dog. I also don't have the hand strength to hold my dogs head straight so he does swivel it around a bit, thankfully he rarely moves once stacked. Just the head :D I don't play for sheep stations so accept my limitations and do my best. I also swap around the chairs I sit in and make sure I am warmed up. Also take your time to set up and pack up. Think about how you are going to hammer those pegs in. I get down on my knees and use 2 hands. No more bending over and crouching down is also out for me.
  12. Keep trying with Annabel. She's often away at shows etc so might not have seen your message yet. I've bought lots of coats from her, many custom made and she's always been very helpful and quick once we sort out what I want. Wolf's Den was at shows the weekend just gone.
  13. And if they do? You might be thanked for giving them the heads up. I think I will take the risk tomorrow when I go up the shops, if they aren't home I will put a note in their letterbox. It's a lovely little dog, I'd hate something bad to happen it. I'd also feel sorry for the dog that does react to such rudeness cause it's the one most likely to lose it's life.
  14. I've just bought 2 of those self warming mats Sheena posted. Going to try them outside in the kennel over winter when the dogs have to be outside while I am at work.
  15. if your dog ripped the mesh out of one soft crate he will rip it out of the next. I'd be buying a wire crate. I've never had a wire crate collapse on a dog but you can always cable tie it if you are worried.
  16. public forum, people can say what they want. BTW this is the show forum not the breeding one.
  17. My GSD bitch had no problems coming into season and lived with another desexed bitch. Greyhounds can be very slow, the line mine come from rarely come in before 16 months and often not until 2 or so.
  18. possible, maybe they just aren't up to the standard judges think they should be.
  19. Really this discussion has gone so off track should it not be moved into the breeds 101 forum?
  20. My daughter lives very close to Cherry Lake so I'v put the bike in to be serviced and swap brakes over. I' ll see how a couple of old crocks go over the next few weeks
