    Mum Pups Dumped

Anyone that thinks there is not an oversupply of puppies has their head in the sand. Watch the news tonight , go to the shelters and pounds go look in the animal trenches at all the dead bodies, I could go on and on and look here http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Dogs-...162806087081688
  2. pffffft you should know better! That would take away from the high drama of the question! There is no drama ,as like some I do not need to dramatise everything I do. I have asked a simple question and I should have known better that I would not get one from most people here without putting the whole saga on here. tHE QUESTION BEING: In law is an animal a thing. I believe an animal is not a thing as it is a living entity but once it is dead it then becomes a thing is this right. According to the dictionary I have, a thing is a amminate object. and it also says a living breathing entity becomes a thing once deceased. so as most people can see there is no drama it is a simple question that does not need a big long story why I want the answer, as unlike some I dont display my life on forums. thankyou for your time the ones that answered.
  3. the new government act of 2009 says they can.
  4. woops forgot to add MArthas wool wash is a great smell killer
  5. lol same here for the washing bit of the walls but I wash all mine as I cant seem to stop once I start. FH you know what is the best thing to wash the walls with The orange homebrand woolies spray cleaner costs 1.98 spray on wipe off with a damp rag makes spotless walls, but I will add that is the only thing it is good for.

My 3 shepherds live inside and I got rid of my fabric lounge and bought a leather one, have tiles all through bath them regulary wash their beds each weekend but put them out in the sun in the day time. The secret is to vacumn and empoty the vacumn or the smell will stay. Scented candles and windows open a lot also if you have a evaporative air con tip disinfectant in it. I mop most days as well. Um my house is for the comfort of my dogs and me and noone else.
  7. So say I wanted to bury a dead cat with the owner because the cat is dead it then became a thing, prior to being dead it was a living entity.

Jade tell Audrey the truth that Riley has gone to heaven and he is playing with my Rhyle and like I said dont beat yourself up over what was a tragic accident, remember the good times and know that you all adored him as he adored you. remember back when you found out that Audrey was coming and she came and you were a wee bit worried and Riley was so good with her well not all people get that chance, you guys were really lucky to have spent the precious time with Riley, and what a wonderful first pet for darling Audrey. Remember the great times and be proud of the way he was, and that he had a good life while he was here. til you meet again She was standing on a hillside in a field of flowing wheat and there sat Riley right there at her feet she remembers from a baby the shepherd dog that was there the feel of his breath the feel of his hair He will always look over her. Rest in peace Riley
  15. ok, sorry. Bit thingy about it all as we cant post every discussion and every consultation on here as it would take a whole day, however all the the 'suggestions' put forward have been discussed earlier in the thread. It would help if people read what we have already discussed. We are not bunch of hot headed nut jobs running across the countryside trying to save the world, we are a committed rescue who are using trained professionals in order to remove a dog of our breed from a crap situation. FYI I read the whole thread. back a few pages someone said the dog came from a closed factory so why not find who was at the factory who fed the dog and see if they can come call him.
  16. Okay only offering advice, if you dont want to go that way thats fine, but I doubt you will catch him the other way, you can block all his escape routes but he will only get more fearful and will start going over the fences. A trap will not be a failure if it is set and the processes taken to capture him. I for one would not go with the soft foot trap because of the angst and injury it will cause. You can get a trap from wild life capture in WARICK. We once caught a dingo in a trap using the same method, and the trap was strong and sturdy and homemade. But I suppose the professionals will have better techniques.
  17. Hi all just found this thread am sorry you didnt catch him but by those methods I have just read I didnt think so . This is a dog who has been looking after himself for what may be a fair while and now has a distrust of humans, which in turn is fear. You are on the right track with the dog trap, a group of people trying to bale him up will not do any good if he is wiley and hey he is a sheppie and they are smarter than most people I know. ( do not mean any disrespect) Now I have a tale to tell you When I was for want of a better word a dog catcher for over 10 years, I caught a dog who had dissappeared from its home 1 year before, ( didnt know till afterwards) This dog was first spotted in the river bed eating what appeared to be a plastic bag in the MArch, it always went back to an old car that was dumped out of town near the river, he was rangy and as wiley as, he was eventually caught at the end of April. We set a dog trap about 3 meters from where he was camped up with the plate flat and the drop door wired up to the top of the cage, every day I went in the same vehicle and left chicken wings and biscuits in the trap starting at the doorway placing the food in further every 3 days, the food was always gone after the 2nd day, about 12 days later the trap was set for the door to drop. After the 5th day I used to see this dog enter the cage in the rear view mirror, so I knew he was eating the food) On the 12th day I hadnt gone far at all and he was in the cage the door dropped down and I rang for help to remove him cage and all to the pound. HIs collar though huge and loose around his neck still was on the dog with the previous years rego tag attached, one happy owner collected his dog. He then spent the next 6 months back and forward to the vet, If the dog is rangy, thin or lean, do not give it any acp"s or sedatives unless a vet has instructed to do as you may kill it. good luck and I think you are all wonderful to help this dude out.
