  1. My mums dog does not drink out of stainless bowls or tin bowls or any thing she sees her reflection in.
  2. That's easier said than done unless you take out the new owner's emotional investment. ETA: What would the breeder be likely to do with a pup with those problems that the owner would not do? And what would happen to the returned dog, I suppose I can guess.
  3. It is sad but it happens as long as you can keep your pooch comfortable and pain free. I hate the way people say take it back and get a refund but for people that actually love their animals and dont think they are a disposable chattel that is not a possibility. I feel though that on telling the breeder the problem and they were actually interested they would offer some sort of compensation even if it were only to offer to replace the dog, without wanting the one you already have back.

  5. Poor you poor dog. Hope the dog can live a reasonable pain free life.
  6. We are about to trip off and my 2 oldies are going to the kennels where they will have their beds be kept warm and given their drugs, I have total trust and the dogs are used to it. The vet is right across the road and it is better than taking 2 arthritic dogs into a freezing area. I will be away 2 weeks then will be dropping the 3rd dog off while I go elsewhere. We take our dogs with us everywhere but I am thinking of them not me. Personally I would rather take them.
  7. We have a great discussion and like any good partnership we do it my way, or I just bring one home.
  8. Kim has cancer and had another op a few weeks back, now it is getting cold ,she is on previcox, and lyprinol . I wormed her with drontal and she only ate a bit of her tea and is heavy panting (does a lot of thaat) and looks positevly ill. Any ideas or maybe the drontal was a bit much.
  9. thanks for suggestions it will be awhile before getting one still musing but I want to start contacting.
  10. Hello, I am getting another dog to show and have now decided either a Corgi or a Swedish Vallhund. 1. What are herditary diseases they can carry. 2. Do they have outgoing temperments (swedes) 3. Do breeders guarantee their show stock 4. Are they required to pass any schemes 5. Any breeder recommendations thankyou
  11. I leave my sheps in boarding kennels they are fantastic, my boy comes home with a blood nose and skinless, the girls come home with nothing. The first time he did it they were horrified and called me up while I was away, I said he does it when he goes in a crate as well he runs his nose up and down the wire. so ask first if there is any reason and why they didnt call.
  12. Auto isnt coming and I am going to Alice and Tennant then back to sunny Queensland where I will get to meet my new grandaughter lol giving Darwin a miss this time. I will miss laughing at you lot in your winter warmies when it isnt even cold lol
  13. well done everyone good job Megz and Mum at the end
  14. must be nearly vet check in time
  15. tell her to go borrow one anyway you shopuld have sent her with battery back ups
  16. Maybe because the dogs were used to and tolerated a Cat that appears to have been there before them and they may not like a new one. I had 4 cats well before my dogs came along and I now have 1 left as they have passed at 26 , 19, 7 and the one I have left is 15 my dogs tolerate her and she puts them in their place (gsd's) but when I bought home a new one I took it back as they continually tried to kill it. And as my dogs also have access to my house they would have eventually killed it I would think.
  17. Poor Opal bet those bloody crows dropped something. healing thoughts for her
  18. Not long to go now my plans are near done All entries are written out, accomadation booked, now just deciding whether to leave my 2 oldies at home because of the cold.
  19. Is that your personal opinion or a philosophical absolute? If it is the latter, I would love to hear the logic that leads to this conclusion. No matter how passionate we all are about our animals, human life should always take precedence over animal life, always. sheesh I wouldnt like to be an animal belonging to you
  20. I show my desexed ex showdogs in neutered classes when we go to the Northern Territory. My 9 year old GSD won open Neuter at the Darwin Royal one year and Oliver has a few neuter certs and picked up a couple of open neuter in group and show and I have been asked by various judges why he was desexed lol. They come with us when we go away so it is easy to enter them as well and they seem to enjoy it.
  21. sheesh you are a game girl, Whereever you buy your bluey from be very careful and ensure the breed has the correct temperment. Breeders put a lot of time and effort in to raising the litter and get very attached to all the babies. We want what is best for them. These are our extended family. I would insert some in the front of that.
  22. I hope they are reported DECLARED DANGEROUS and if they are ever reported to attack again EUTHANISED, and the owner charged. and no one would know what they would do faced in that situation until it happened,
